We were given an address to check in at but when looking it up on the maps, it showed the same location as the hotel we were staying in. So, check in was very frustrating.

The property was a little tricky to find. Check in was at one location and the room was located about 5 blockes down the street. Not your normal check in and walk down or drive around the building and enter your room. It took us a bit to find becaude the street number was not on the building, but we found it. The room was big and spacious with a King size bed. The room overlooked the street.

I loved the old restored building with all the character, but the downside was the lack of normal amenities like ice. Comfy bed, really nice bathroom, and a useful mini fridge. Mwave was in the hall, but that wasn't a problem . The hardest was finding someone to help us check in.

Very convenient walk to the Nauvoo temple. It's an old area but very nice. The only downside was the old hotel didn't have an elevator.

Unfortunately wifi was not working and when it did come back the Live TV feature would not work correctly. We stayed two nights and our room was not reset for the second day.

I would only recommend the Nauvoo Temple House Hotel for a short stay. It is a historic building with few updated amenities. The room was very clean and nicely furnished as a historic room. The stairs to the rooms are steep, there is no elevator. Not convenient to come and go. Something to keep in mind: there are not hotel staff in this building! The hotel is managed from a hotel up the street, the Nauvoo Family Hotel. This primarily became a problem when we were hit with a tornado (later classified as a derecho). When the warning and city sirens came on to immediately shelter, there was no one to give directions as to safe places to shelter during the storm. That was very unsettling for someone experiencing a tornado for the first time. The building survived but it was rocking! We ended up moving up the street because of the prolonged power outage with the storm and stayed at the Nauvoo Family Hotel, which I wished we would’ve stayed at for our entire visit. They have all the extra convenient amenities and also have a storm shelter. The staff there was very helpful and apologized there was no communication the day of the derecho.

I wish they would look at the reservation and when they see 6 adults are using the room they would leave 6 towels and wash cloths. Especially since the main check in place is 4 blocks from where you actually stay. The pool is 4 blocks away. The rooms do not look anything like they were advertised. The price is most definitely worth it though.

The is the closest hotel to the Nauvoo Temple. Our room had a balcony with a view of the temple. The room was clean and nice with good housekeeping services. The check in process was a little rough as you have to go to the Inn at Old Nauvoo to check in. Also, if you need ice, a blanket, or to use the pool it’s all at the Inn at Old Nauvoo. Overall it was great!

The hotel building shown on their website is not the building we were put into. That was a disappointment. It was a bit of a inconvenience to have to travel down the street a distance (1/2 mile) to the check-in front desk. In the room they assigned us, the carpets were soiled and dirty, both in the room foyer hallways and steps. There was a bungent odor that was almost intolerable. We asked if they could remedy that. They moved us from the top 3rd floor to the second floor into a room that had been available. The carpet in that room was just as dirty and soiled. The smell was less. Without any other option we stayed for the 2 nights booked. Parking was difficult, having to climb a hill over an unmaintained yard area to the building entry door.

Very cute hotel in a historical building. Though the building was old, the room was nice and clean and didn’t feel old. The beds were nice and we had lots of space for our family of 5. It is nicely located in downtown Nauvoo close to the shops and restaurants and the Nauvoo Temple. Check in was easy and staff were super friendly and helpful.

Overall this was a great stay. It was located in a very convenient location and walkable to many attractions. There is a laundry mat just a few doors down, which was nice. There are a couple of things to be aware of: 1. There are two different buildings. We had two rooms and they were in different buildings. Close to each other but apart 2. The room with a king and 2 queens was in the basement behind Zions Mercantile. This was disappointing because it lacked the historic charm and view I was expecting. Once I got over that disappointment, it was fine and the configuration met our needs very well. It had a refrigerator in the room and a toaster and microwave in the entrance The other room was on the second floor of the Wilford Woodruff. It had a balcony and a view of the temple. They did bring in a rollaway bed. The properties are in need of a little repair (balcony rough and peeling finish and bathroom door very tight and peeling paint from such) Housekeeping replaced towels one day but did nothing else. Overall it was a great stay and we would stay there again.

We stayed in the large suite. It was perfect! 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, directly kitty corner to the Nauvoo Temple! Temple within full view from the balcony and bedroom windows. The decor was designed to be period appropriate but with modern comforts. The beds were so comfortable, the towels were soft and fluffy, and lots of room to spread out. The only issue was the check-in. We were there in the off season and when asked about places to eat, we were told only places 20-30 mins away when there was an open restaurant less than a block away. The Red Front had delicious food! The front desk also said they couldn’t approve a late checkout and I would have to call back in the morning to speak with a manager. Just not helpful and wrong information. Messaged the phone number posted in the room and got the late checkout without issue. With so many people coming in from out of town, it would be more helpful to have someone more informed and willing to help as the face of your business. Thank goodness the room more than made up for that experience!

I wish breakfast had been available as there’s only a gas station in town or one other place that may or may not be open right across the street. In our case it wasn’t. It was either eat at the gas station or drive 40 mins one way and then 40 minutes back to avoid the toll road. Had I known before coming, I would have brought something with me. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was located close to everything we wanted to do. The people above us were really loud, thankfully only until 10pm, but 6:30 hit and they were super loud again. If I stay again, we’ll request a top floor even if it means more stairs to climb.

I love that it is an old, historic hotel! It is very conveniently located. I enjoyed walking to nearby shopping, the family search center and temple. It is a 2-3 minute drive down to old, historic Nauvoo. The room was small but the bathroom was big. It has been updated but still has that original feel. The bed was wonderfully comfortable! It was queen size. The curtains close to darken the room. I appreciated the fan. It was a perfect get-away for me. It might be too tight of quarters for two people.There is only a fridge, no freezer. The microwave is shared in the hallway. There are almost no dining options in town so bring your own food. I will definitely stay again.

The only issue was the check-in. We were there in the off season and when asked about places to eat, we were told only places 20-30 mins away when there was an open restaurant less than a block away. The Red Front had delicious food! The front desk also said they couldn’t approve a late checkout and I would have to call back in the morning to speak with a manager. Just not helpful and wrong information. Messaged the phone number posted in the room and got the late checkout without issue. With so many people coming in from out of town, it would be more helpful to have someone more informed and willing to help as the face of your business. Thank goodness the room more than made up for that experience!

A friend and I traveled to Navoo, Illinois, for an overnight quilt retreat. We stayed at the Navoo Temple House Hotel. My knee was bothering me a lot and they switched our room from third floor with stairs only access to the ground floor. Room was great, although couldn't find the remote for the first 2 hours. We finally found it behind the sofa.

Very cute hotel in a historical building. Though the building was old, the room was nice and clean and didn’t feel old. The beds were nice and we had lots of space for our family of 5. It is nicely located in downtown Nauvoo close to the shops and restaurants and the Nauvoo Temple. Check in was easy and staff were super friendly and helpful.

Because we booked our rooms late, we needed to change rooms for our second and third night. Management and the cleaning staff went out of their way to clean our room early so we could move rooms without packing everything to our car and back in again. The rooms were quaint and charming and very comfortable. We loved the location.

When I first checked in, I was assigned a basement room, which is completely different than what I had booked. I had booked a Signature Suite with two bedrooms and temple view. The room they had assigned was cheaper than what I had paid on Expedia. I stood my ground and showed the photo of what I had booked. Fortunately, Renae, who works in the shop where you check in, helped me through several long phone calls to the office. They eventually relented and gave us the room we were expecting. I have to say… the view is amazing!!!

We went to check in and were told we needed to drive down the street to another building to get the keys to our room, It took us an extra hour to find the place and get the keys, then drive back to the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor and no elevator. I loved the big fluffy bath towels.

The thermostat didn’t work and we called for hours for help. We stayed three night and were cold and we were miserable. Was told that four rooms are on the same thermostat a First come controls the other three rooms. What horrible service and was very disappointing in the service. We aid over two hundred a night to freeze. We would t recommend staying thereto any of our friends. Very disappointed!!! N

Our stay at the Nauvoo Temple House Hotel was exquisite! The rich history of the building and the charm of the room were both top notch and the customer service of the staff was just icing on a delicious cake. We loved our experience and would absolutely return again!

Amazing view of the historic temple. Walked to so many historic sites and the pageant. The shop was closing as we arrived, but the staff made a phone call and held for us what we needed. Dining options are not as good this time of year. They are seasonal and it slows down in September. Casey's convivence store has juice, muffins, donuts for a quick breakfast snack. Red Front has fabulous sandwiches within walking distance.

Close to old town Nauvoo was the only perk. We were told we were staying at one property and found out we were at another, which had a BBQ restaurant below it. The smell was extremely strong, we hiked up 3 floors to our room. Only a few options for eating in the whole town, one of which was the gas station.

Very nice stay. Sort of a no frills experience though. The check in desk is down the road and all you might see at the hotel is the cleanup crew. You are right above the barbeque restaurant so you smell barbeque quite a bit. We loved our large room and could live there for an extended stay. Nice stay. Go to the buffet at the Nauvoo house down the street on weekends. Check for opening dates.

I thought the hotel was very well maintained for how old it is. It was also decorated cute with a nod to the 1800's but without going over-board or being fussy. We were pretty comfortable except that we were on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. Being older and not in the best shape, it was a little challenging for us, especially when we hauled our 50 lb suitcase up the first night. If it hadn't been for the help of Forest, the very nice owner of the tasty bbq restaurant in the same building, I'm not sure if we would have made it! The beds were a little hard, but not too bad, and we lost water pressure in the shower for a couple of minutes a few times, but it stayed hot throughout the showers so we were happy. The bonus was the fluffy towels! We've traveled a lot and I think those towels are in the top 2%! We also had very good wifi service and were able to stream Netflix without any problem. My only complaint would be that when I booked the room, I thought I booked in the 2-story building (there are 2 separate buildings) so I was ok with no elevator. So make sure you request a lower floor if stairs are a challenge for you. And make sure you stop in to the Fireside BBQ and say "Hi!" to Forest!

We only got to be there from 6:00 in the evening until 9:30in the morning. We did enjoy the time. There was a family with small children and it didn't bother us that we could hear them with the echo. Some people might not like that. The microwave is in the hall and each room didn't have one. No breakfast options, but we knew that going in.

I wish breakfast had been available as there’s only a gas station in town or one other place that may or may not be open right across the street. In our case it wasn’t. It was as expected for a historic old property. We didn’t like the idea of them asking for gratuities when there was no soap when we arrived (but they did come drop some off at our door) and no one is around on Sunday so there was really nothing for them to do! Mainly a bed and breakfast without the breakfast.

We always enjoy staying here. The only “complaint” we have is there are not many available outlets to charge phones and whatnot. The one outlet available needs to be replaced as things do not fit tightly in the outlet. Great place to stay!

Place was beautiful, but a little inconvenient and uncomfortable. To check in, you have to travel 6 blocks east to another hotel. This is also the area you have to travel back to for the free breakfast. The beds are very hard. The ac units were wondow mounts that were not draining condensation well making the carpets wet and the units themselves were very noisy. The large marquee sign in front of the building is also very bright causing flashing in the bedroom that is very distracting when trying to sleep. Bathrooms have been redone under very nice. Furniture and decor is nice and home-feeling. It was a fun experience for a family vacation, but likely will not stay again.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The biggest negative was that check in was about a mile down the street in another building. This was not communicated to us so it took a long time to figure that out. The pool and the free breakfast were at the check in location.
