The hotel was shabby in places with some slightly strange decor choices, but overall clean and tidy. Bar had a good range of drinks. Breakfast was excellent, with great service and plenty of staff. Car park tiny and full so most ‘free’ parking is on the nearby roads.

Nice cosy rooms, central location. Very limited parking in a very small forecourt, 4 cars maximum. If you’re booking for the parking don’t be fooled by the ‘free parking’! And a late check in at 3pm plus the added time to find parking, and an early check out at 10am is abit harsh. But everything else was nice! Room was clean and breakfast was included in the price!

Stayed for 2 nights.Overall quite pleased but could be better.Very few spaces in the car park so could not risk driving out elswhere.Building work going on.Restaurant closed but not on website.Breakfast superb.No lift.Not much beer choice in the bar.Mat needed in shower.Very hot in room but was abnormally warm for Wales outside.Moths kept coming in so used an insect spray.TV excellent.Hard to get to hotel rear for car park.Best to say access directly opposite Premier Inn Car Park.Staff very friendly.Door locks not very secure.Firedoors kept open so against regulations.Did not appear to have an emergency exit but may be wrong.Booked via hotels.com using Tesco vouchers £180 .Smooth sailing.

Hotel situated in a good place everything in walking distance, hotel clean and tidy, parking in hotel only enough for 4 vehicles, parking outside hotel but taken up quickly. WIFI good enough for work emails, staff very helpful and polite, Breakfast good, room very spacious and clean but bed a bit hard and noisy seagulls all night which will the same for every hotel in area. I would stop again if in area.

Room 7 large room and large bathroom all clean except a few marks on the walls but it’s an old building. Check in was quick. Breakfast was good hot breakfast and cereals. Location is great. Car park was only small fits about 4 cars we got in ok but it is a nightmare to get to as it’s a one way system. You have to drive right past the top of the hotel street and turn right 3 or 4 streets past it and then head back to hotel and turn up left behind it. Value for money is great.

Group booking of 3 rooms. All parties were more than happy with the room standard and the bar. Breakfast was a buffet style "full Welsh" and did the job. The breakfast staff were very helpful and attentive as was reception upon arrival. The only point to note is the hotel car park is small and can only accommodate 5 average cars, this meant we all had to park on the street surrounding the hotel. It was free to park on the street, so not the end of the world but just something to consider.

One night stay in this hotel. Looked very clean and welcoming on ground floor...dining area lounge area etc. However, once on the stairway on the approach to our room, the plsce was very different. Dirty carpets, really bad paint on walls. Our room was tiny, windows filthy, and although we had booked as a couple, only one tiny towel and one bath towel were left for us. Handle of cupboard missing, and skylight window filthy. No water glasses in the room. Breakfast was good...the only thing which was good about this stay.

Parking is non existent, pot luck if you can find something outside or a near by street. An excellent stay for 2 nights. Hotel is warm and comfortable. Bed was very comfy. Exceptionally clean in all ways. Ensuite shower was very good. Will definitely stay here again when I visit Aberystwyth next. Thank you.

Typical seaside hotel with great, attentive staff, but a hotel in need of a refurb. The staff were great, and the room was clean to an extent. All the areas that we wanted to use; such as the bed; the shower, sink etc were clean. The sofa needs a really good clean, however, to get rid of the very large stains and the kettle had a mysterious stain on it. The bedside lamp’s shade was broken and the water glasses didn’t look washed at a glance. All my suggestions would be, is to review your rooms regularly to make sure that they are fit for purpose and justify the price of the room. Some easy fixes go a long way.

The carpet in the common area stairs to our room and in our room was gross. Food and other (?) stains highly visible and abundant. The mattress was old. The bathroom newly renovated and clean. Linens clean. Breakfast was good. Lovely staff at reception. Parking was on-site and easy.

The room was very clean ,I stayed 4 days and there was the option of having the room cleaned every day if I wanted .The staff were friendly.also it was quite and I felt safe . The hotel is also very near the town and the beach .I would definitely stay again .

Not a pleasant stay for us. The greeting by the receptionist was very cold. The breakfast was not great, coffee was tasteless and again the staff was distant and cold. Room was extremely bare for a « deluxe room », duvet cover was not immaculate, hair were in the bed and the light fixtures were disgustingly dirty. Fortunately it was only for a 1-night stay and we wouldn’t come back. Upon checking out we came across housekeepers who had placed clean towels/sheets directly on the dirty hallway carpet! Their standards are just not where they should be.

The room was possibly the hottest and most uncomfortable room I have ever slept, or rather not slept in in my life. The radiators were on full blast and so hot it was unbearable! The bathroom radiator was dangerously hot as if you accidentally touched it it’s burns time. Bed was small, hard and pillows were like breeze blocks. Didn’t get a winks sleep. All this coupled with a hot summers day! Mental

Really lovely staff who helped me with luggage as I've recently had an operation so couldn't carry much. Upgraded me from a single to a one bed apartment on the sea front. Fantastic views (50 steps to get to the apartment!), good kitchen facilities and two TVs. Bathroom was great and bedroom. All very clean and new feeling.

Booked the deluxe bedroom expecting something outstanding but it was nothing special. It said queen size which turned out to be 2 singles pushed together so kept falling down the middle. Carpet stained in places and the walls had all paint patches. The room was very warm so had to have the windows open. Parking is limited to about 4 cars. The good points are reception was friendly and is central to everywhere.

Centrally located, spacious superior room, communication not good from reception or any information in the room. Didn't tell us bar closed at 21.00, asked, they said dependant on season. Asked about did they lock doors at night what time, we were told depends who the night porter was, although back door should be open. Breakfast was average, limited choice.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They stored our luggage before check-in and after we checked out the room. There’s also a small bar and dining options in the hotel. The hotel is also very close to the beach and close to the train station.

A party came back at 2:30am woke me up as you can hear all doors on the hotel open. That and they were being so loud. They were young and drunk. So that part I can forgive. What was horrendous is that they were playing music until 5:45 in the morning. They kept me up. You can’t complain because the hotel isn’t manned as I found out at half 4 after having enough. When I complained the next day the hotel dissolved themselves of any kind of accountability and said the hotel manager would call me as he was away. I never had that phone call. I would go to the premier inn directly across the road

The person on reception wasn't friendly, we had arrived early and when i enquired if the room was ready, the reply was short and sharp. The studio room wasn't as advertised, it had one single bed in the kitchenette area with no blind at the window or the rooflight. The hotel were unable to change the room as they were fully booked and sent maintenance to buy a blind which was prompty fitted. We were woken at 2am by we can only assume staff who were sitting outside chatting, this continued until approximately 4am Neither window opened, therefore it was very stuffy. I certainly wouldn't recommend.

DO NOT BOOK - the hotel contacted me 15 minutes before check in to say they had no room and would put me in their sister hotel, the Queensbury. It was FILTHY. It was run down. The room we had was not in any way deluxe and not what I paid for. The hotel is also refusing to compensate. Steer clear.

What a lovely stay we had! Staff were polite upon entry and got us checked in very efficiently and smoothly. She explained where local attractions were and what to do whilst we are here for our stay. The room was just perfect and the breakfast was pleasant. Would definitely stay here again and many thanks to the team at The Four Seasons! 10/10

Excellent location. Able to walk everywhere in moments... train station, beach, coffee shops, restaurants & pubs, shopping. Parking seemed like it might be an issue, but I did not have a car so there was no problem there. Only issue was finding the location at first as we were walking from the train station... hotel is on Portland STREET, but you come first to Portland ROAD, which we walked up and down several times looking for the hotel entrance before going up one more block to the correct Portland ;) Hotel staff all friendly and attentive, even making phone calls for us for taxis and such. I will definitely stay here again.

I asked for a quiet room, and they happily obliged, plus parking for my motorcycle which again was provided in their private (but small) car park. The car park was a bit difficult to find, but if you head towards the Premier Inn, it's dirctly opposite and is part of the Four Seasons hotel. Breakfast was vey good and filling. A few minutes walk to the centre and the sea front. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

The hotel has a restaurant, it is also very convenient to shopping, cafes and restaurants. Central location; Few short blocks to the ocean promenade and few short blocks to train station. Peaceful and relaxing town. Staff were fantastic, accommodating my booking error and made us feel very welcome. We arrived with low expectations however the staff were excellent and the room was clean and well equipped. Location wise this hotel is in the heart of everything and easy walking distance from shops and the sea front. The breakfast is excellent!

Centrally located, spacious superior room, communication not good from reception or any information in the room. Didn't tell us bar closed at 21.00, asked, they said dependant on season. Asked about did they lock doors at night what time, we were told depends who the night porter was, although back door should be open. Breakfast was average, limited choice.

The hotel was a bit tired and my room could've been cleaner. Easy to find but parking spaces very limited. Well located to walk easily into town or the seafront. The owner and staff were very welcoming and cheerful to be fair. Breakfast was very good. Hot and cold buffet. Lots of choice and plenty of it. Bedding was clean but mattress very thin. Excellent value for money though. It was a pleasant stay for the time we spent there. Honestly couldn't fault the helpful staff and it was a concern after reading some dodgy reviews.

Nice hotel but practically impossible to park near if you travel Friday or Saturday. Nice friendly staff and clean comfortable room. Breakfast was a little chaotic, no-one to meet and greet so not always able to order tea/coffeeand toast. The breskfast room is quite small and the tables are very close together making it difficult to move around

The hotel is clean, but there’s no lift and the stairs are steep and narrow, I’m coeliac and although I advised this at time of booking nobody seemed to know what did not did not contain gluten, so breakfast was stressful and really disappointing

It's difficult to believe a hotel this bad can function. I was given a twin despite booking a 'superior double'. The furniture was worn, the plug in the handbasin didn't work, the heavy TV was attached to the wall with a small bracket missing several screws, and bizarrely the tea-tray had a dessert spoon and fork instead of teaspoons! But most noticeably there were no towels. I pointed this out and was told "We're aware of it. It's being seen to." Several hours later, desperate for a shower, I phoned the out-of-hours number (the hotel does not have 24/7 reception as claimed) and asked again for towels. Someone came to my door, threw a single towel at me and walked off without a word. Meanwhile in another room, my wife had towels but no hot water. Getting to sleep was difficult as my room faced onto the courtyard/carpark where superbright security lights blast out all night, and there are no blackout curtains on the window. At about 5am one of the guests, drunk as a skunk, started stamping around the hotel, aggressively swearing at the top of his lungs, for an hour. When it came time for breakfast, everyone had to step over him as he had passed out on the stairs in a pool of urine. We checked out early and moved into the chain hotel across the road. I requested a refund for the nights we missed but the hotel refused. They simply do not care about their guests: no explanations, no apologies, they just want your money. Do NOT, under any circumstances, stay at the Four Seasons.
