This is an exceptional property, but even better service. Lori and Ginny were so kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. The breakfast and vibe of the space is fantastic. They also provide a lot of education about the house and area and truly care about keeping the history alive, and that pride shows clearly in how well the place is loved. The bed and room is very comfortable and well designed, and the common areas are beautifully renovated.

This is one of the nicest places i have ever stayed in. The two lady's that run own this inn are soooo nice and welcoming. The breakfast they made every morning were the best tasting breakfast's ever. I absolutely loved the history tour as well. The room was so clean, and the bed was very, very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was outstanding and plenty of hot water. I loved hanging out drinking coffee in the very comfortable sun room and there are plenty of dining and adult beverage options within walking distance of the inn.

Lori and Ginny are wonderful hosts! They serve you delicious breakfast every morning, the rooms are very clean and the decor is subdued and calm. They have games available for you to play and books with a maritime theme and local history. Lori gave great recommendations on restaurants and what to do and where to go as our schedule was unplanned and wide open. Have I mentioned the sunroom? GORGEOUS and COMFORTABLE! Leather couch and recliner and a fabric recliner as well. A table with I think it was chess set up at one end…. STAY HERE! You won’t regret it!

Our stay was just wonderful. The house is beautifully restored and very comfortable. It has a front porch with comfortable chairs that over looks the water. It has a very comfortable lounge arrive with comfy large leather chairs. And the cooked to order is just delicious. Finally I must say the inn keepers Ginny and Lori are warm and welcoming.

The hostesses were amazing. We had a great breakfast every day and they made sure that the kiddos were completely happy with their breakfast as well. There were also several board games available for them to play. Comfortable beds and great view from our room! We would highly recommend for couples and families alike.

Lori and Ginny were the prefect hosts. I contacted them to arrive a day early as the drive was very long and they were able to accommodate me right away. The breakfasts were all made from family recipes and delicious. The grounds are relaxing and the breezes from Penobscot Bay across the street are soothing.

We stayed a night here and from the moment we arrived it felt like coming home. Very beautiful home! We loved the history behind this beautiful Inn. The owners were very kind and friendly. Very relaxed and easy going atmosphere here. Rooms were extremely clean and inviting. We hope to return to this beautiful Inn for another stay very soon. Highly recommended!!!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the home from Lori. The rooms are spacious and beautifully restored and decorated. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom, immaculate. Breakfast prepared by Ginny was delicious and plentiful. We prefer the charm and hospitality of a B&B over a hotel anyday!

Our family spent the night on our way back to Canada, and we were very happy with our stay. The place was exceptionally clean, well-cared for and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and check-in, check-out was easy. Would definitely recommend.

Truly a home away from home.

I cannot say enough great things about this location and the service! The space is beautiful and well maintained. The views are wonderful and the amenities are top notch. É come fare un salto indietro nel tempo, la casa è del 1800 e mantiene intatto il fascino del periodo. Tutto era in ordine, curato e pulito. Le signore che lo gestiscono sono molto gentili e ci hanno preparato un’ottima colazione. Unico neo: il bagno era privato, ma non collegato alla stanza, per usarlo dovevi uscire in corridoio.

Esperienza eccezionale!! Abbiamo dormito in questa casa del 1800 con Genny e Lori padrone di casa stupende. Al mattino ci cucinavano loro un’ottima colazione e si parlava di tutto. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati e ospiti graditi. La casa è bellissima!! 3 camere con bagno in comune ma nelle due notti in cui eravamo lì nn c’era nessuno e zona relax in comune. A 3 minuti di macchina c’è un ristorante in cui si mangia bene e a buoni prezzi.

Beautifully renovated and decorated to its original era. Very nice large room with private bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Warm welcome upon arrival with lots of historical facts shared which was really interesting. Other than creaky bed frame, everything was perfect. We loved staying here and will go back!

Received a nice welcome and given history of the Inn. What a beautiful home with large rooms. My bedroom upstairs had a wonderful view of the bay. Very nice inn keepers who were very welcoming. So nice to come down in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee and be served a wonderful breakfast.

Owners were super friendly and did everything to make stay perfect. Great recommendations for dinners and places to visit as well. Made us feel like home!

Lori and Gin were wonderful! The place is gorgeous and we cannot wait to stay there again! Lori met us in the driveway and gave us a tour and some of the history of the home which made the stay much more personable.

Captain Sweetser's Inn was the highlight of our vacation. Lori and Ginny are very thoughtful and full of information on the history of their property and the community. Lori guided us to some excellent restaurants. The Inn is very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect.

Our stay was fabulous. Our host were above and beyond my expectations. They were so friendly and told us the history of the place we stayed. Just can’t say enough about their hospitality. Their breakfasts were fabulous and made sure all that were at breakfast got what they liked. And everything was fresh and hot. I just can’t say enough about them. I brought my autistic 33 year old granddaughter with me for a wedding and they were so sweet and kind to her. I would return anytime to them.

Lori and Ginny were the prefect hosts. I contacted them to arrive a day early as the drive was very long and they were able to accommodate me right away. The breakfasts were all made from family recipes and delicious. The grounds are relaxing and the breezes from Penobscot Bay across the street are soothing.

We had a wonderful three night stay at Captain Sweetser's while in Searsport for a wedding. Lori and Ginny, the owners, were friendly and welcoming to us and to our dog. They constantly checked in to see if we needed anything, made recommendations for places to go, and made a fantastic breakfast every morning. Highly recommend!

It was such a treat from other types of travel! A reminder what a difference these details and personal interactions can really have on your trip. The room was extremely clean and spacious with a comfortable bed, delicious breakfast included. Walking distance to the town and restaurants made it very Convenient. The inn is beautifully restored and Lori and Ginny are wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.

I loved staying in a home built in 1850 by a Captain who earned his living from the sea while surrounded by an economy supported by the sea. The hosts and guests were marvelous and interesting to meet. Everything was perfect including the location ... easily going north to Bar Habor and south to other attractions.

There were road repairs underway on US-1 right outside the front door, which makes for traffic inconvenience, noise, and an asphalt smell, but I'm not sure there's much you can do to mitigate that given the location. Staff were absolutely lovely, welcoming, accommodating for our being hideously behind schedule and late in our arrival. Electric car charger is a 120V plug, which gave us enough mileage on our car to have flexibility in planning the rest of our trip. Our daughters adore this house and want to come back!

Received a nice welcome and given history of the Inn. What a beautiful home with large rooms. My bedroom upstairs had a wonderful view of the bay. Very nice inn keepers who were very welcoming. So nice to come down in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee and be served a wonderful breakfast.

This is an exceptional property, but even better service. Lori and Ginny were so kind, thoughtful, and accommodating. The breakfast and vibe of the space is fantastic. They also provide a lot of education about the house and area and truly care about keeping the history alive, and that pride shows clearly in how well the place is loved. The bed and room is very comfortable and well designed, and the common areas are beautifully renovated.

Our stay was just wonderful. The house is beautifully restored and very comfortable. It has a front porch with comfortable chairs that over looks the water. It has a very comfortable lounge arrive with comfy large leather chairs. And the cooked to order is just delicious. Finally I must say the inn keepers Ginny and Lori are warm and welcoming.

The hostesses were amazing. We had a great breakfast every day and they made sure that the kiddos were completely happy with their breakfast as well. There were also several board games available for them to play. Comfortable beds and great view from our room! We would highly recommend for couples and families alike.

I cannot say enough great things about this location and the service! The space is beautiful and well maintained. The views are wonderful and the amenities are top notch. The room was spacious and the complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious! I HIGHLY recommend booking a stay here! I wish I could have stayed longer!

Excellent stay at the Captain Sweetser's Inn. We were given a warm welcome upon arrival and a brief tour of the property. Saw some deer and fox as we walked the acreage at dusk. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. And let's not forget the delicious breakfast the next morning. Loved this place!

What a wonderful place! We loved hearing about the history of the home. The home and grounds are so beautiful. We loved having our window open during the nigbt and hearing the sound of the water fountain outside. The innkeepers Ginny and Lori were so welcoming and hospitable and made our stay so delightful. The homemade breakfast was delicious. We only wished we had planned to stay longer. Next time for sure.
