I really enjoyed my stay. The gym is so big! The staff was very friendly. I will say you can hear the train go by but they do offer plugs. I’m used to the loudness so it was nothing for me. The best part is how close the train station was and how close of a walk to Union Market.

Wonderful bar and restaurant on the roof

It was great, the only downside is the $40 a night for parking. Other than that no negatives.

Great stay. The staff were very nice. I was greeted daily when I entered and exited the property. There is a rooftop that has good food and drinks! I’d definitely stay again! I will note that trains do pass near the hotel often, but it’s not bad unless you’re a really light sleeper. They also have white noise machines to cancel out any noise which is amazing. I had an overall 10/10 experience.

good location. This hotel has closed outdoor dinning which was advertised on expedia sight. The rooftop bar and dining room played music so loud on Saturday night that we were unable to sleep despite ear plugs provided in the room until they shut down at 1 am. Also, monotonous loud beating music began again on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm from their club on the rooftop. Our room was on the 9th floor. Staff and property are courteous and clean.

Nice gym

Very accommodating, great staff, parking outdoors was much cheaper than hotel parking underground. Good sized room, with a nice roof deck for drinks and small bites. Great view of the capitol building.

Nice hotel with lots of dining in walking distance. We had issues with our room and they moved us to another room. Train station behind the bldg was noisy but not too disruptive. Rooftop was closed and no bar closed early on Friday night.

The hotel is modern, well decorated, the rooms are with great size and very comfortable. It is located around 5 minutes walking from the metro station which is very useful. The neighborhood has as plenty of restaurants around and it is in walking distance from the main attractions of the city. The fitness center is excellent, huge and new. The only thing I didn’t like was the towels , two star hotel quality, mold and many almost with a hole, not compatible with the price charged and the brand pattern. Stayed in other Marriott hotels and could see the difference.

Clean Room , Spacious , Very Nice Set Up

This place smelled like raw sewage as you walked in the door. It was overpowering and beyond disgusting. There was also an almost constant beeping near the front desk that made me crazy. The room was lovely and the food in the restaurant was decent, if you could stand to walk through the entry to get to it. Great area, close to a metro stop the hill. I just couldn't get over the smell as you walked in and dreaded it every time we came or went.

Room was clean and roomy Staff were very nice

Bed was very comfortable. Pillows were very flat down pillows. There is a sound machine in the room as well as a clothes steamer, two bonuses I appreciated. We could hear our neighbors if they so much as shifted in bed. However an entire half of the hotel backs right up to the metro AND train tracks- and they run. All. Night. Long. And trains honk horns. They did provide standard ear plugs, but if you have small ears, sorry about your luck. It was also ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS to park for two days. I just cannot stress enough that unless you train or metro in- prepare for the insane parking with no other close by options. There was also a hair in our shower that did not belong to us, and the water smelled like sewage. Very convenient to shops and bars and convenient to the metro lol. I am undecided if I would stay here again.

Noisy and weird smells

The rooms were quite comfortable and staff were friendly and very accommodating! What could be improved upon were maintenance related… doors entering the hotel were awkward and heavy.. really hard to open. Also there was a smell of sewage when you entered the property, I and others with me smelled it daily. Lastly mosquitoes were all over the lobby!

We stayed here a year ago and had a good experience. This year, the room smelled off. A couple of pillows smelled like B.O. The restaurant was not anything close to the offering last year (used to be Yara, but was rebranded); service and pricing was awful. We had two small apps and two salad and it cost 200 with the service fee included. The bar in the lobby on a Saturday night was closed. Weird vibe. It was not a good stay. Didn't sleep well at all.

Wonderful hotel with spacious, clean rooms. Air condition worked great even on 90+ degree days. Appreciated the mini fridge in the room. This is where I’ll be staying in DC going forward!

Great customer service, inviting atmosphere, clean rooms and amenities.

The friendliness at this hotel is top-notch. The hotel feels new and very clean. Our room was on the side of the hotel overlooking the metro / train corridor. Every ten minutes or so up until about midnight, it was quite loud. The staff had earplugs and a noise machine in the rooms to help. If you book here, I suggest that you request a room that is not on the side of the rail corridor.

On the train tracks and trains run all night

The pillows were awful, otherwise the room was very comfortable.

The rooms were small and we were put in a 2 bed instead of a king because all the king rooms face the train tracks. The room was clean and comfy. The hotel restaurant menu was underwhelming.

The sound of the train at night was too loud and bed was supper uncomfortable, I can feel the springs on the bed

My room was beautiful, staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the lighting in the room. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend

Nice looking hotel, w/ friendly staff and great location but room walls and windows are very thin. I could hear the trains outside and my neighbours watching television and the room was cold and difficult to warm up (with very flimsy duvets provided).

It is a short walk to the metro, a grocery store, restaurants. The hotel rooms were nice and spacy (my son said there were "fancy"), and the staff was very helpful and nice. It was a hit noisy since it is right next to the metro but everything is a tradeoff! They gave you a earplugs and a white noise machine in the room. They also had blackout blinds and a small fridge in the room. I would stay there again.

Walls are paper thin. View was a brick wall. One plus is the rooftop bar is beautiful.

By train tracks so you can hear trains every so often depending on what part of the building your room is on. This doesn’t both me, but it is noticeable. Curtains aren’t blackout curtains. My room only had a see through curtain. This didn’t affect me as I woke up at 630 AM. I could see this being a problem if you are on a different sleep schedule. Property was clearly new and very clean. Great location in NoMa. If you are getting Starbucks, from down the street in the morning, order ahead. The line gets crazy on weekday mornings.

HORRIBLE! I come often to DC for work. Besides one night, rooftop staff was rude. Room was so warm and hard to turn down the temperature for AC. I was woken up from 2:30-5:30 am on and off from drunk people. I finally call front desk (obviously not the staff fault and felt bad no security to knock on the drunk guests’ door) I had an almost 10 hour drive back home and least thing for drunk people extremely loud in the hallway. Restaurant manager upstairs. Extremely rude. Front desk was amazing. I rolled my eyes on the rude people to them while lounging in the lobby. NEVER stay there, again. I travel for work and one place never recommend nor go back to

Room was clean and roomy Staff were very nice

I was in DC to bring my son to school. The hotel was in a great location, had ample available parking and was clean and comfortable. The check in process was fine, not great. I did get breakfast on Saturday morning which took forever. They had 2 people working, but one of them was more worried about setting tables than serving customers. I had to ask multiple times for coffee and for a status on my food.

Unable to stay at the hotel because they were overbooked and did not honor the confirmed reservation for us when we arrived b/c we booked "through a third party".

Just a quick stay overnight in D.C. They had a room available for us to check-in after our redeye flight. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Great location walking distance to all the fun National stuff. The room was great, overall I would stay here again!

The staff was so helpful here after I had a horrible experience at another hotel. They were very helpful with me getting a room and checked in early. The bartender was especially fun and kind. I will definitely stay here again!

Great location to stay with

We couldn't have found a better hotel for its value and proximity to the National Mall! While we were initially hesitant on selecting the Marriott due to past reviews regarding noisy disturbances, we were lucky to be placed in a room facing the peaceful courtyard. It was (a little too) quiet, beautifully furnished, and more than comfortable. The front desk and hotel cleaning staff were friendly and attentive. The expansive fitness center and complimentary water were a huge plus too! The hotel is conveniently located near the Metro, grocery stores, food spots, and Capitol Hill. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time we're in the area.

Very close to union station. Easy to walk to capital building.

It’s in a great location, a block from the train. Great restaurants and stores nearby. My only complaint is the terrible coffeemaker in the room.

Nice hotel, surroundings unsafe after 5pm

Very easy from airport by metro and walked to capital for tour with ease. Dining options good. Funky up and coming NoMa area was cool.

Easy walking distance to Capital and museums. Many wonderful nearby restaurants.

Property for the most part was very clean, but water pressure in the room sucked and the area felt unsafe. The area in which the hotel is in is a weird spot of capital hill on a side street near an underpass. Not the best crowd on the street. Our second night there, a gentleman was yelling, banging on doors, and running down the hallway for about an hour before security finally did something about it…after I called down there. You would think a Marriott property would be monitoring the security cameras but apparently not. Did not feel very safe whatsoever. Concierge did not seem like they had any sense of urgency to address the problem when I called. Probably will not be staying here again.

It was a good stay, helpful staff, clean rooms, beautiful light fixtures, modern. However, online listed as in and out privileges for parking- on check in we were told that’s not the case. Breakfast options are very limited. FYI there is a train track right next to hotel, does not always make for the best sleep.

I'm a little disappointed with my dining experience. 😔 The food itself was delicious. However, the lack of staff, especially during breakfast, really impacted my enjoyment. For four consecutive days, there was only one staff member trying to handle everything. This led to long wait times and a less-than-ideal dining experience. #understaffed #restaurantreview #breakfastfail ☕️

The room was nice and clean and huge. I specifically booked this hotel for room service availability. It might sound trivial, but the reason I’m in DC keeps me working late. By the time I’m out most restaurants are closed. I truly need room service. Why would they not have told me that it was going through a rebranding?

Great staff and check in. Some noise from the train yard below. Im always suspicious when ear plugs are provided but they werent needed and had a good sleep! TV (satellite) was frequently interrupted by storms! Lovely large and clean room. Didnt use the bar and restaurant. Used room service. Awful. $33 for a tiny, tasteless pizza. Lesson learned!

Staff was friendly and it was. Comfortable stay for my family. Food options at the hotel were a bit pricy….but we paid for the convenience. One bad thing was the false advertising that the rooftop lounge was open 7 days a week on google. It’s closed sundays and Mondays.

Our regular visits to DC usually involve stays at Hilton or Hyatt hotels. We found it inconvenient not to have a regular restaurant on the premises. And the breakfasts were rather limited. The room was rather small.
