Fantastic place to stay, already booked for August. The staff are brilliant, really friendly and make sure you are looked after. The food is really good in a great setting inside, breakfast is fantastic, all local produce. Rooms are really clean and have a Nespresso machine and free bottled water. Great car park with big spaces.

I have stayed at Pen mill on 4 previous occasions 3 three to four days at a time. Unfortunately, this will be my last. There are now outside speakers fitted under ALL Of the windows on the front of the building. Music is played until 10.00 pm evernight. This is so loud I struggled hear the TV and also found it hard to do any work in the evening. I mentioned to the staff that this was disturbing and asked if they could move my room but they did not want to do this although it was clear that the hotel was not full. The rooms are now getting a bit battered old and tired and have not been refurbished in the last 4 years I have been going to Yeovil. I would recommend that the owners spend a night in their rooms to experience what the guest experience. Its a real shame that the hotel guest have became a after thought and the bar area is the main focus. I left a day early.

Friendly pub and hotel on edge of Yeovil. Decent food, nice atmosphere, parking, outdoor tables are great. But bit tired here and there and desperately needs new mattresses for the bedrooms!

Great little hotel with friendly staff. Not in the best part of town but very convenient with lots of parking and a nice pub bar and restaurant. Walkable into town and next to Pen Mill Station

A very good stay. Staff particularly good. With both bar, restaurant and check-in staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and extras like the Nespresso machine and fan were appreciated. Well soundproofed considering the venue from pub below, but car park and patrons at closing time were very noisy and disturbed sleep through windows. A particularly noisy main road with lots of “boy racers” and queuing traffic at peak times took the shine off location wise. Breakfast amazing, with an excellent cooked option that was one of the best ever had. Would stay again.

We had a one night stay and it was excellent. The staff were first class in all aspects. The food was very good with a variety of vegetarian options. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Bar, restaurant, food and staff where all excellent. Our room just need tidying up. Silly things, eg, bathroom radiator had been changed but the holes from the previous radiator had not been filled and painted. The toilet needed double push to make it flush. Doors closing are noisy.

Great place to stay, the rooms are really clean and have nice touches like free biscuits and a Nespresso coffee machine. Really clean bathrooms and great linen provided. Food is fantastic and the breakfast is really tasty and all local produce from within 50 miles. Sam who took the orders was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will stay again when in the area, great value for money.

We found the service to be slow, which was unusual as we have stayed here at this accommodation many times and found it to be excellent the showers and bath need a complete clean and overhaul

The Staff were very welcoming as soon as we arrived. The waitress at breakfast was lovely and the housekeeper was very helpful. The Hotel and room was very clean. All round an excellent place to stay.

Room was comfortable & clean, although a little noisy as it faced our over the front beer garden. The windows are not modern double glazing so even with the windows shut the pub's music was still clearly audible as the speaker sounded like it was just below the window. Despite this I'm a returning customer as the pub is nice, the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly.

Good well equipped clean room. Lots of road noise as room was at front of hotel. This cannot be helped but maybe better secondary double glazing would help? Good choice for breakfast but husband wasn’t very keen on the full English. Not very nice black pudding, fried egg overdone on bottom and underdone on top, not much taste to the bacon. Staff efficient and friendly, would stay again but would ask if there are any non front facing rooms.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was friendly and first class. The room was very nice and the bed extremely comfortable. I had the best night's sleep I have had in years.Could not find fault in any way with the evening meal and the breakfast. The young lads and lasses who were waiting on the tables both inside and out, always had a smile on their face.
If I could give this place 6 stars I would! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was friendly and first class. The room was very nice and the bed extremely comfortable. I had the best night's sleep I have had in years.Could not find fault in any way with the evening meal and the breakfast. The staff at the hotel and bar are brilliant, make you feel really welcome and so friendly. Food is great and a good number of beers lager to choose from. Hotel was clean and a good size, nice hot water from the shower. Breakfast was fantastic really nicely presented. Will stay again first rate.

All ok with room, though not worth £90 a night. We had some Expedia credits and used this to partly pay. We stayed there as it was convenient for a wedding reception. Breakfast was ‘free’ - I.e. included in the room rate - they would be better set the rate at £75 a night (all it is really worth) and leave guest the choice (as they charge external guest ‘friends’ £15 for b/fast). We had scrambled egg with salmon and after the wife complained of feeling queasy. We both felt the eggs were too ‘oily’. Too much butter? Eggs cooked in oil instead of butter? Eggs mixed with milk to pad the eggs out? Not sure but I had to agree with the wife. Did not have b/fast on 2nd day. The worst aspect was that a 10:25 we had someone knocking on the door chasing us to leave! In 40 years of staying in hotels I have NEVER experienced this! To say I was annoyed is an understatement. I complained to front of ‘house’ - well really at the front door as in reality it is a pub with rooms not a hotel , despite the name. They said that thought we might have left already and were ‘checking’. On checkin they took the car reg and the car was still in the car park so a very weak excuse. ! They need to cease this ‘chase’ practice. We will not return.

Breakfast was ‘free’ - I.e. included in the room rate - they would be better set the rate at £75 a night (all it is really worth) and leave guest the choice (as they charge external guest ‘friends’ £15 for b/fast). We had scrambled egg with salmon and after the wife complained of feeling queasy. We both felt the eggs were too ‘oily’. Too much butter? Eggs cooked in oil instead of butter? Eggs mixed with milk to pad the eggs out? Not sure but I had to agree with the wife. Did not have b/fast on 2nd day. The worst aspect was that a 10:25 we had someone knocking on the door chasing us to leave! In 40 years of staying in hotels I have NEVER experienced this! To say I was annoyed is an understatement. I complained to front of ‘house’ - well really at the front door as in reality it is a pub with rooms not a hotel , despite the name. They said that thought we might have left already and were ‘checking’. On checkin they took the car reg and the car was still in the car park so a very weak excuse. ! They need to cease this ‘chase’ practice. We will not return.

This place really is a gem, the service throughout was top notch and nothing was too much of a problem and I felt welcome and looked after even though it was extremely busy with Christmas party guests. Room was lovely and food both dinner and breakfast extremely good.

Excellent service from all the staff and the food is amazing with good quality ingredients. Room was ok, but got very warm even though i turned the radiator off.

We booked to stay at Pen Mill Inn for 2 nights because our daughter had given us tickets for the Yeovil Balloon Festival. We had looked for somewhere in the locality which we could book using our Tesco Clubcard vouchers, which Pen Mill Inn does. On arrival we were greeted by Luke who gave us our room key & details of coming & going. The balloon festival didn't happen on the evening we were there but we were so close to Yeovil town centre, about 1/2 mile walk, the wife didn't mind. Our room was clean, cosy & well stocked & although our view was at the back looking at another building, we had very little road noise. I have started running & found that Yeovil Country Park has an entrance directly opposite The Pen Mill Inn, Bonus! Although, I wouldn't recommend walking up Wyndham Hill after a run! I made a wrong turn & ended in the town centre & only found the rest of the Country Park on the way back, a lovely peaceful area with lots of tracks for walking, & a cafe. Luke tended to us at breakfast & was very attentive, he disclosed it was his first time running breakfast alone but he was excellent. We had a meal at the Pen Mill Inn on the second night, all of the staff were great, loved the dogs & brought them treats & the food we had was delicious. We would highly recommend the Pen Mill Inn for any length of stay, we will be back!

Lovely welcome and speedy check in. Comfortable bed and overall good facilities including a coffee maker. A few old cobwebs around windows and room very stuffy. Sadly quite noisy but is on main road. Overall though, a lovely stay.

Travelled with my mum to sight see in Sherborne. The hotel is lovely The food is amazing And the staff there were fantastic so friendly and helpful ....it makes such a massive difference to a stay .....congratulations on a great team. If there was down point it would be the main road .....very noisy in the front guest room and as hot had to keep windows and curtains closed.

Great little hotel with friendly staff. Not in the best part of town but very convenient with lots of parking and a nice pub bar and restaurant. Walkable into town and next to Pen Mill Station

The hotel is very conveniently located within easy walking distance of the station. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the portions very large. The room was comfortable and the furnishing simple. The bed was quite soft for our taste.

A very good stay. Staff particularly good. With both bar, restaurant and check-in staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and extras like the Nespresso machine and fan were appreciated. Well soundproofed considering the venue from pub below, but car park and patrons at closing time were very noisy and disturbed sleep through windows. A particularly noisy main road with lots of “boy racers” and queuing traffic at peak times took the shine off location wise. Breakfast amazing, with an excellent cooked option that was one of the best ever had. Would stay again.

Good well equipped clean room. Lots of road noise as room was at front of hotel. This cannot be helped but maybe better secondary double glazing would help? Good choice for breakfast but husband wasn’t very keen on the full English. Not very nice black pudding, fried egg overdone on bottom and underdone on top, not much taste to the bacon. Staff efficient and friendly, would stay again but would ask if there are any non front facing rooms.

The stay at the Pen Mill Hotel was excellent, the staff where very helpful and accommodating, the food was fantastic and the staff where very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Yeovil and we can't wait for our next stay here.

Have had an amazing stay here at this lovely hotel. Staff couldnt do enough for you and were incredibly polite and helpful. Room was clean with good amenities. Food was excellent and plenty of parking. Highly recommend.

Brilliant stay! Lovely hotel with such friendly, welcoming staff. The room was perfect, and the food at both breakfast and dinner was great too. Couldn’t fault a thing – we’d definitely stay again! Thank you all very much!! :)

Our room was smaller than we expected but supplied everything we needed, including a fan. There was minor road noise but this did not disturb us and is to be expected at a hotel in such a good position. The highlights were the excellent service of all the cheerful staff and the complimentary breakfast.
