I stayed in one of the small cabins on site. The cabin had a bunk bed (double on the bottom, single on the top), a large table, two stools, a fridge and even a small television. It was comfortable for two nights, and clearly clean and well maintained. As the name suggests, the view was splendid. The shared bathroom facilities are immaculately clean and look like new. I’ve seen worse en-suite bathrooms in hotels! I did not use the kitchen facilities, but it looked well-stocked and clean. I did use the laundry, which was very handy. $2 gives you half an hour in the washing machine and $2 for half an hour in the tumble dryer. The setting itself is peaceful, rural and attractive. Everyone who stayed there seemed friendly and respectful of their neighbours. Location is a short drive into are Anau where there are restaurants, bars and plenty of activities. The location is very handy for the road to Milford Sound. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The room and toilet block were very clean. The room is quite small, but not an issue to us as it is something we have become used to. The toilet block is in our opinion to far away, almost a short hike. And if the toilet block is a short hike the kitchen block is a long hike. Ok if you like long walks to go to the loo, shower or cook something. Also the kitchen block is a place we refused to use after our first glance at it. Either dirty pans, or pans that were washed, but waiting for the kitchen fairy to dry them. Yes, I know this is the fault of other people using the site, but more signage directing guests to be more respectful and responsible for cleaning up after themselves would help. I have still given the site 4 out of 5 as other than what I have mentioned, we would use again, but just avoid the kitchen and perhaps get a cabin nearer the loo

The room had suitable crockery and cutlery plus a kettle fridge and toaster. Unfortunately the TV didn't work because the aerial cable plug did not have a matching socket in the TV. The main problem was lack of hot water in the toilet and shower block. The shower fluctuated between cold and luke warm. The WiFi would come and go constantly (no mobile signal in that area). Communal kitchen and toilet block were always kept clean and tidy.

The rooms and bathroom were very nice and clean. The 2 issues we had were with the Internet and the kitchen. As international travelers we didn’t have a fast data plan. We relied on the wifi in the hotels/ holiday parks where we stayed. The internet didn’t work at all. We needed to book hotels and tours for the next few days of our trip and were unable to do so. This was a huge problem for us. Also the kitchen was miserable. No hot water!!! How do you clean communal dishes with no hot water? That’s not sanitary. Also it wasn’t very clean and it was very poorly stocked with pots and pans.

Cabins have a great view, are very quiet and away from the road. The park is very tidy and organized, bathrooms are large, clean and modern. Very affordable, payment is cash only. For the Americans (us) who aren’t used to NZ camping, even though it’s a “deluxe double room“ there’s no water or sink or towels. Nor coffee or tea. Nice big supermarket in town (ask me how I know).

I have stayed at many holiday parks over my 53 years, but the toilets and showers here are easily the cleanest and best maintained that I have ever seen. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended this place. The only improvement I would make is some running water in the cabins.

The room we stayed in would benefit with a fan because the room got very hot in the evening. Fly screens would also be a nice improvement to keep the bugs out whilst trying to cool the room down with the cooler evening air.

Direkt auf dem Weg zum Fjordland Nationalpark, ca. 2h von Milford Sound entfernt. In der Stadt ist man in wenigen Fahrminuten. Wir hatten ein Zimmer gebucht. Die Matratzen waren hauchdünn und es gab leider keine Handtücher. Die Zimmer sind auch sehr hellhörig, sodass man schnarchende oder sich unterhaltende Nachbarn sehr gut hört. Die Sanitäranlagen waren sehr sauber und modern.

"Great Views" were not provided - we had a 12-foot by 15-foot concrete block wall, screen door access, view of the sound wall that separated us from the adjacent main highway. Bathrooms were separate, and 30 yards from the structure. We stopped in, got the key, observed the above, and went to town to find better accommodations.

Stayed for 2 nights January 12- 14th, place is ok and ok if on a budget. Paid with my credit card on arrival $231 for a 'Queen cabin" Found my credit card was charged again on January 24th while back in Australia a further $231.40 AUD- trying to recoup the money through being charged again which apparently was a mistake. Now no email not being returned! Ivy(owner) has now dropped off communication. FRAUDULENT and Dishonest. Extremely disappointed by the lack of integrity associated with this business. Please be warned. Only pay cash if you do choose to stay here as you may be in for further charges down the road.

Without having a cell phone, it was extremely difficult to access the property for check in due to security gates. Once we were let in the gates, there was no one at reception. The room was clean and comfortable. The shared bathrooms were clean and well lit with automatic lighting. Although the lights in the women’s shut off during showering both days. The shared kitchen facility was less than ideal with very few cooking pots, pans, utensils etc. if you are traveling with a self catering camper van you will be fine.

Beautiful views of the Fiordlands. Quiet and clean accommodations. We were told at check-in that they only accept cash - I was never informed of this prior to booking or any time before arrival. The person working there was a bit rude - very surprising for NZ because everyone else we have interacted with has been incredibly friendly. There were signs hanging in reception that were perhaps meant to be funny, but stated that they didn’t care about providing good or pleasant customer service.

My wife and I found this place to be a well run with helpful and friendly owners. It wasn’t fancy but it was really nice. Our room had a very comfortable bed, lots of space and all the amenities we needed for two nights. The location was an quick drive to Te Anau and a nice easy drive to Manapouri (where we caught the 7:30 am cruise to Doubtful Sound). We’d stay there again. Thanks

Toilets and showers clean and pleasant. Cooking facilities adequate. Cabin quite cramped. Walk into town was along main road with limited pavement. Check-in poor. No-one around during advertised check-in times and no response for some time to bell or phone. When someone did appear she seemed annoyed with us for calling her!

Well kept grounds & very safety conscious. Beautiful views but couldn’t see them from our unit. Well kept bathroom, but a fair way from units and kitchen really not well positioned for all of the units- also car parking narrow with concrete strips in between- quite restrictive.
