Room was small but perfect for what we were after, and It included toiletries and tea making facilities. We had a private hot tub which was brilliant. The was a good selection at breakfas,t but at dinner there were quite a lot of meals unavailable, but what we had was very nice. The hotel was generally quite shabby but that is the intention I think and it did add to its charm.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The hotel itself was beautiful, but the highlight was definitely the hot tub – the perfect addition for a truly relaxing getaway. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless and welcoming. The staff in the restaurant were fantastic—so friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding, full of flavour and beautifully presented, and the cocktails were just perfect. Every little detail made the stay feel special, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious break!

Hot tub lid was difficult to put on and take off. Breakfast service was a little slow but food was lovely. We found lots of hair pins and grips in the floor from previous guests. The "leave me alone' sign wasnt clear that it was for putting on the door to avoid being disturbed, it was hanging on the cupboard door which made us think we couldn't open the cupboard which housed the tea making facilities eyc!

Room and hot tub was lovely. We were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch which was strange but food was good. Evening meal was a let down, had one waiter on and the poor lad was run ragged, had to cross off most of the things on the menu due to no availability and had none of the wine we wanted in stock. Wife is pescatarian so had very little choice for food. Vibe and decor of the hotel and rooms was very cool though and room was very cosy

A fantastic stay overall. The room was clean and of a very good standard. We were greeted by Emma on reception and made very welcome. We had a meal in the restaurant and it was excellent. Thanks go to Lewis for his attentive service. We will definitely be back. Nick and Tracy.

The venue was lovely. The rooms had a drain smell. Items not in toom on arrival dressing gown slippers chocolate. Water milk tea not replaced no staff available. Breakfast appauling must have been cooked and left . There was not enough domestic or kitchen staff which left dirty rooms and poor food.

What an utterly lovely find this place is. Quiet, rural views, clean, fabulous staff and exceptional facilities. There are lovely little touches in the rooms which makes the whole stay feel like a proper treat. I can’t wait to go back.

Our experience was generally good, the staff both on reception and in the restaurant were very pleasant. The food was disappointing as it didn’t live up to its expectations of the menu, which was a shame. There was a lot of noice coming from the outside patio area as people used this space for smoking and vaping. Our room over looked this, you could hear a lot of noise even with the window closed along with the various smells from the smoke.

Runa farm was a brilliant place to stay and i only wish i had more time there. the only thing i would say needed changing in my room would be to get a proper kingsize mattress or a topper so you can feel the zip and one of the chairs sort of blocks access to the shower

Runa Farm is very very nice. The bed was lovely and comfy, the decor was very good and clever! Shower lovely, toiletries lovely and just lovely. We had an evening meal which was a touch expensive but very high quality.

The location is lovely, but Runa Farm simply doesn't stack up when compared to other accommodation in the same price bracket. Personally, I won't stay here again for several other factors than just price; all of them inexperienced staff issues.

This is a lovely place to stay, very peaceful and quiet and close to Barnard Castle. The staff are friendly and the service was excellent. The rooms are as good as they look on the photos. This is a lovely place to stay, very peaceful and quiet and close to Barnard Castle. The staff are friendly and the service was excellent. The rooms are as good as they look on the photos. First time staying here. Warm welcome on reception, lovely room and stay. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Food was lovely-drinks on the pricey side but to be expected with being in a remote place! Bed super comfy and shower was fab! A lush stay all round ❤️

Food was lovely although my wife’s breakfast order was incorrect. Got black pudding and tomato despite asking not to have. A bit of a waste but rest of food was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Room was lovely.

The venue was lovely. The rooms had a drain smell. Items not in toom on arrival dressing gown slippers chocolate. Water milk tea not replaced no staff available. Breakfast appauling must have been cooked and left . There was not enough domestic or kitchen staff which left dirty rooms and poor food.

Runa Farm is very very nice. The bed was lovely and comfy, the decor was very good and clever! Shower lovely, toiletries lovely and just lovely. We had an evening meal which was a touch expensive but very high quality.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The hotel itself was beautiful, but the highlight was definitely the hot tub – the perfect addition for a truly relaxing getaway. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless and welcoming. The staff in the restaurant were fantastic—so friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding, full of flavour and beautifully presented, and the cocktails were just perfect. Every little detail made the stay feel special, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious break!

Hot tub lid was difficult to put on and take off. Breakfast service was a little slow but food was lovely. We found lots of hair pins and grips in the floor from previous guests. The "leave me alone' sign wasnt clear that it was for putting on the door to avoid being disturbed, it was hanging on the cupboard door which made us think we couldn't open the cupboard which housed the tea making facilities eyc!

Room and hot tub was lovely. We were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch which was strange but food was good. Stayed here for overnight for our fifth anniversary. The hotel is in lovely surroundings and looks amazing. The staff are all friendly and helpful. However, after staying it’s clear this venue is certainly more geared towards being a wedding venue, rather than a hotel. We were very kindly given a bottle of Prosecco for the occasion, which was very lovely. However, the room we were given was tiny, with a gap of around 8 inches between the bed and the wall, and was located directly above both reception and the bar toilets, so we could hear other guests checking in word-for-word, as well as taps and hand dryers every few minutes. I raised this with staff who again very kindly offered an alternative room which was much bigger and more appropriate - however still slightly noisy with doors throughout the venue being heard shutting. However, we were very lucky that this other room was the last available, otherwise we’d have been stuck with the other. The receptionist explained this happens often with non-wedding guests, which we totally understood but there is no indication when booking that the venue is meant to be a ‘drop the bags, attend the wedding, sleep, and go’. Again, the setting, staff and restaurant were all great. But we were slightly disappointed that the initial room was so inadequate and that this is seen as standard just because they primarily cater to weddings. Would recommend to anyone for a wedding, but any other stay I’d be less inclined.

It was very rustic. We loved the fire pits outside. The bbq food was very good but could have been hotter. Our room was a bit small but we were only there one night and it didn't spoil our time there. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.
