We loved our stay at the Tommyfield! It was extremely clean, exactly as pictured, and a few short blocks from a tube station. It was also a manageable walking distance (2km) to Big Ben and all the other touristy sites. The food at the pub below our room was amazing, and we had no issue with any noise coming up from it. Teresa was lovely and always available to answer all of our questions. The only con was the climb up the stairs to our room. Otherwise no complaints! Would definitely stay here again!

Stairs Stairs and more Stairs. No lift. A lady to help. Room was dark, only 2 lightbulbs working. Room was ok except for being dark. Nice bathroom. Window didn't open but there was a/c which was very noisy at night.

My husband and I stayed here for our first time in Europe from the States, and everything was awesome! The metro was a 5 min walk from the hotel. The staff were super friendly, and the food at the pub was AWESOME. The room we had looked over the cute neighborhood and the bathroom was very nice and clean and the bed was super comfortable! If we go back to London, we are going to stay here again!

Great london pub with lots of character.. the pub gets very, very loud, but the room was quiet. Room was huge and comfortable. Bathroom was huge and stylish. Staff were excellent. The only negative, is the pub does not offer breakfast during the week. Whilst there are lots of local places to grab coffee, thry were all takeaway. Nothing ooened until 11.00 if you wanted to eat in.

We only stayed for one night but it was a wonderful stay, walking distance for Kennington tube station. Felt very secure with multiple locks to the various hotel levels. The only negatives i would say is small issues with wear and tear with the room just a little bit here and there would help. We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the pub in the morning. Next time we pop down to London we are definitely planning another stay here

Great location, smooth check in and comfortable room. Very clean, big, stylish bathroom with roll top bath and separate walk in shower. Decent breakfast available at the weekend in the pub downstairs. Friendly staff, great value, a bit of a hidden gem.

The room was spotless and beautiful with a nice view. The bathroom was extraordinary. There is a Tesco over the road, but the room was stocked with milk, coffee and tea anyway which was lovely. We were unable to turn our radiator off (room 5) and unable to turn the air-con on which made us too uncomfortable to sleep properly, lucky we could open one of the 3 windows. Would stay again if the radiator could turn off. Thank you.

Hotel was really clean and room is spacious and a really nice bathroom. Check in was easy but they do like you to check in by 10.30pm which wasn't ideal as we weren't local and we also had some issues with the lock on our door but overall, good stay and reasonably priced for London

The room was ok but no main light in the room just lamps one of the plugging point was loose from the wall plus the blind didn't go full down so couldn't block the morning light the bath room was amazing with the options of a bath or a separate shower the bed was comfy but the window did nothing to help block the traffic noise which means i really didn't have a gd sleep at all

I just needed to stay for 1 night near to the river and the Tommyfield was both convenient, and good value. Checkin was good, the room was spacious and quiet (except for someone hoovering before 7am), clean and comfortable. The pub looked nice but I didn’t get the opportunity to try it.

Staff was very good. Both friendly and helpful. Room was typical of a European hotel room which is a little on the small size, but this is to be expected. The downstairs restaurant and bar was better than expected both in food choices and quality

The location, room, staff, and pub below were all great! The only thing I'd like to note is that for the high quality of the property, the windows could do with some updating. The wooden window on my room (room 4?) didn't close entirely and let a lot of noise in from the streets outside (police sirens throughout the night at around 15-min intervals). This didn't make for a good night's sleep. I don't know to what extent this has to do with the historic nature of the building, but some investment in double-glazing might be prudent.

My stay at The Tommyfield was short and sweet. My partner and I are a young couple and stayed here just one night in Kennington. We liked the modern design of our room and loved the bathroom and all the facilities included within the room. You could tell the rooms were somewhat newly decorated as they had a nice clean/tidy look. Check in was fine, we felt somewhat welcomed and check out was easy; we were greeted with a kind farewell. My only complaints were it was fairly noisy outside in the early morning, breakfast is not offered/severed in the weekdays, the air-conditioning unit is a little noisy, the bathroom window did not open and there were some minor cosmetic amendments needed to the ceiling in the bathroom. Would I stay again? Maybe but I’m not raving about it.

Rather hot in the room that particular evening and doesn't appear there is a way to control the heating in the room so we opened the window. The 1/3 discount in the pub on food came in handy.

We were visting london to attend a comic con. Hector was amazing at making sure we had our key as we were not sure if we would be back in time for last check in. Hector was so understanding and helpful in making sure our bags were safe and we knew everything about the room. We had breakfast in the morning, I didn't catch the ladies name who served us but she was just as lovely. Overall an amazing stay and I'd definitely return

Check in was a bit strange and awkward as though we were intruding. As we arrived at 11am, after an overnight flight from the US, the manager could clearly see that we were exhausted and instead of offering to try to expedite, we were sent us to a coffee shop down street to wait for our room. Ironically, the restaurant/hotel lobby had no coffee to offer?!?! We returned at 1:30pm only to be ignored by the manager (no formal introduction so I’m not aware of her name, only to continue our wait in a very cold and empty restaurant. There was a kind gentleman that made a spirited coffee that did help a bit. Our room reservation was for a king bed and there were 2 twins. When asked for a king, the hotel attendant simply said to push them together. The room was actually clean but is in need of updating possibly adding a comfortable chair in lieu of the red metal one. Beds were comfortable which is why I’ve given the a 3 or would’ve been a 2. The area at night is desolate and feels a bit unsafe. We would not rebook.

We only stayed for one night but it was a wonderful stay, walking distance for Kennington tube station. Felt very secure with multiple locks to the various hotel levels. The only negatives i would say is small issues with wear and tear with the room just a little bit here and there would help. We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the pub in the morning. Next time we pop down to London we are definitely planning another stay here

I just needed to stay for 1 night near to the river and the Tommyfield was both convenient, and good value. Checkin was good, the room was spacious and quiet (except for someone hoovering before 7am), clean and comfortable. The pub looked nice but I didn’t get the opportunity to try it.

We loved our stay at the Tommyfield! It was extremely clean, exactly as pictured, and a few short blocks from a tube station. It was also a manageable walking distance (2km) to Big Ben and all the other touristy sites. The food at the pub below our room was amazing, and we had no issue with any noise coming up from it. Teresa was lovely and always available to answer all of our questions. The only con was the climb up the stairs to our room. Otherwise no complaints! Would definitely stay here again!

Great location, smooth check in and comfortable room. Very clean, big, stylish bathroom with roll top bath and separate walk in shower. Decent breakfast available at the weekend in the pub downstairs. Friendly staff, great value, a bit of a hidden gem.

Nice vibrant pub with food options. A little far from attractions but walkable and plenty of transport options. No eekday breakfast options, but cafe's within walking distance.

My husband and I stayed here for our first time in Europe from the States, and everything was awesome! The metro was a 5 min walk from the hotel. The staff were super friendly, and the food at the pub was AWESOME. The room we had looked over the cute neighborhood and the bathroom was very nice and clean and the bed was super comfortable! If we go back to London, we are going to stay here again!

They rooms need a bit of tender care. Starting to show their age. Overall no complaints. Great location, get price, great shower. Whats not to like. Pillows have seen their day so i would say please replace them way too soft.

Staff was very good. Both friendly and helpful. Room was typical of a European hotel room which is a little on the small size, but this is to be expected. The downstairs restaurant and bar was better than expected both in food choices and quality

Wod highly recommend this Hotel. Slightly quirky in a good way. Close to all transport to get to central London.The staff were more than helpful, Food was good and excellent Beer. There was even fresh milk in the room fridge Cafe303 30 seconds walk away for a good breakfast with excellent Coffee Pub give 30% off prices if you eat in. This is of of the best stays I have had in this area of London

Great london pub with lots of character.. the pub gets very, very loud, but the room was quiet. Room was huge and comfortable. Bathroom was huge and stylish. Staff were excellent. The only negative, is the pub does not offer breakfast during the week. Whilst there are lots of local places to grab coffee, thry were all takeaway. Nothing ooened until 11.00 if you wanted to eat in.

We loved the character of the building, bed was very comfortable, restaurant had really good food. We found out there are comedy shows in the building, had a great time attending. Overall a great experience, would stay again!

Veldig flott og unikt sted. Ligger litt avsides, få butikker og severdigheter rett ved hotellet men enkelt å komme seg rundt. Fantastisk personale og fine rom. Anbefales hvis man ønsker noe litt utenom det vanlige. Jeg kommer til å dra tilbake. God pubmat.

Really lovely stay! The room was really clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were also given a discount on food in the pub, which was a lovely added bonus. The hotel is in a really nice, quiet and safe area, and overall we felt very comfortable during our stay. Would definitely stay again!

Air con in room but impossible to figure out how to get working. We managed somehow then it shut itself off. Fortunately there was a relatively good fan in the room. Also room was weirdly sloped but I guess that can't be helped.

We had a good stay overall. The room was a good size, well equipped and comfortable, check-in was good and we also enjoyed a meal in the pub. Until our final evening, we would have happily recommended the hotel and returned ourselves. Unfortunately, our last experience left a very different impression. We returned at around 11pm in heavy rain and walked through the pub to get to our room. The gentleman behind the bar told us the door might be locked and asked another member of staff sitting at the bar. He simply shrugged his shoulders. The door was locked, so we had to go back outside in the pouring rain and use the key code to enter through the hotel entrance. The locked door itself wasn’t really the issue — it was the attitude and the feeling that we were an inconvenience. We felt so unwelcome that we decided not even to stay for a drink. It’s a real shame because everything else about our stay had been good, and we would have been happy to return. Sadly, the way we were treated on our final evening changed our impression completely, and we wouldn’t return. An honest review, as we feel the management should know that what may have seemed like a small interaction to staff actually made a significant difference to our experience.
