Lovely small hotel with nice, clean rooms with good facilities. Lift made manoeuvring bags easy. Excellent breakfast with wide range of alternatives. Staff friendly. Historic dockyards, ferries, excellent shopping and eateries all within a few minutes’ walk. Highly recommend.

Excellent location and with it's own car park the Ship Leopard was comfortable, clean and backed up by helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast is also to be recommended. Well worth the visit.

This hotel had lots of good features: - Easy parking ('though locked at night so have to request access); - Great breakfast - I had a very comfortable bedroom with harbour views. - Excellent location: right opposite a main transport hub and close to tourist attractions - Helpful staff The only areas for improvement - in my opinion - are: - The shower - which was very good - did not have a soap/shampoo holder. This is not unusual but I have to ask why? - The lack of a 'Do Not Disturb' sign for the bedroom door However, my main issue - hence the 4-star rating - is that there is no separate bar area. The hotel website does state that it has a "fully licensed bar" but, unfortunately, it is located in the main reception area so is not at all relaxing (as a solo traveller I felt somewhat 'exposed' so had to take my drink to my room).

At check in and throughout our stay we were made to feel very welcome. There is a small bar which stayed open for our group each evening. Thank you! Good breakfast with a perfect poached egg! Perfect location with a locked car park.

Lovely little hotel located conveniently to the train station, ferry port, maritime museum and Gunwharf Quay, which as a wide variety of shops and places to eat. The other thing that I liked as a engineer is the secure private car park. This is locked at night, so I felt comfortable that my tools and van were secure. I had poached eggs for breakfast that were good quality and cooked to perfection.

Great location overlooking Portsmouth Harbour. Onsite Car parking facilities are good as are train and ferry links. Two Minutes walk from he historic dockyard and premium retail shopping outlet Gunwharf Quays and Spinnaka Tower. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Could be more Eco friendly by encouraging reuse of towels and soap pumps in the shower and by the sink. Breakfast was lovely.

Beyond impressed with everything about this hotel. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was warm, comfortable, stylish and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great, cooked to order with a good selection, the waitress was very polite. Parking was so easy and the location was great, so easy to get to gunwharf quays and the harbour literally a few minutes walk away. Overall great customer service which went above and beyond, offering a value you don’t get with larger chain hotels. Excellent value for money. We will book the same hotel again next time and I definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The Ship Leopard is very close to the Historic Docklands entrance, which was the reason for our visit. We very much appreciated being allowed to leave our car in the car park after checking out, until we left the dockyard in the early afternoon - thank you!

Hotel looked fab in the pictures but the decor is dated and the furniture heavily worn. Not an issue if it was clean but there was a lot of dust on light fittings and window cill in the room. I’m particularly frustrated that the staff knew there was road works going on outside late into the night (11pm) but didn’t mention. I had to be up at 5am and had a crap sleep. Stay elsewhere, don’t bother with this hotel.

Bed was extremely, hard resulting ina poor nights slerp, and a bad back. More attention to cleanliness requied. Moved a foot stool to draw the curtains to fins a dirty sock and a discarded lighter. Curtain was hanging off the curtain hook Breakfast was very good, and everything nicely cooked. Disappointed that it was advertised as a Luxury Boutique hotel, but fell short on Luxury.

Great location, easy parking, attentive staff and lovely food - but come on guys refresh the decor and get on top of the room cleaning. How about a regular deep clean of rooms that involves moving the beds, clearing the accumulations under them and cleaning the dust from the selves and ledges. You can do better.

Good location near to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was lovely. Hotel was quiet. Staff friendly. Hotel little bit dated mould in shower and dust in bedroom glass mirror cracked on wardrobe also noticed dirt in corner of toilet.

Location is really good but on a busy noisy road with the taxi rank, buses and port all opposite which can be noisy. Staff were lovely and helpful. Rooms are tired and need updating. Grey carpet was covered in red marks, the bath plug was broken and you had to balance it on the hole and try not to touch it when you were in. The curtains were pulling away from the curtain rings and hanging with large gaps. The shower kept dripping during the night and the bathroom doors did not close properly and the lock did not work. In all there were lots of things that needed fixing and some tlc. Nice building but very tired. Expensive for what you get.

This hotel was in the perfect position for us, we didn’t need to use the car at all, close to everything we needed. Hotel was clean and it was obvious that staff worked hard to keep the level of cleanliness. Staff were really kind and helpful and very approachable. Breakfast was lovely and staff again worked very hard to make our stay a good one. I would definitely return many thanks

Great location, next to Historic Dockyard and Gunwharf Quay (for Spinnaker Tower, food and shopping). Staff were great: friendly, polite and helpful. Very clean and well maintained. Good breakfast. Plenty of dinner options nearby.

Perfect location for Historic Dockyard, outlet shopping, restaurants and bars, public transport…trains and buses. All within 10minute walk. Own carpark. All the staff are friendly and helpful with a lovely breakfast included. Our room had a fabulous view…see pics. it was clean and a good size. The bed was kingsize and comfortable. There was a double rain shower and Tea and coffee facilities but no fridge. Also there is no air conditioner unit so room can get warm when the weather is good. The Wi-Fi needs to be stronger too. We did however really enjoy our time here and would definitely recommend.

Hotel is ideal for access to waterfront, Gunwharf Keys, Spinnaker etc but it sits on a busy road opposite the bus station and train line. We had a front facing room but it was noisy at night and 1st thing. Breakfast was excellent and our room (24) was modern and comfortable but the decor a little tired. Great bathroom and linens and towels were lovely and white and good quality.

This is a lovely location between the historic dockyard and gunwharf quays. You can't beat the location. The breakfast was very good, and the staff was helpful and kind. The room was clean, and reasonably appointed. The hotel wifi was a bit spotty, but worked well enough most of the time. It's very near shopping, a few pubs, and tourist spots. It's directly across from the Portsmouth Harbor train and bus station so you can easily get here from anywhere. We will stay again next time we're in town.

The hotel is perfectly located across from the harbor and the train station. The free breakfast was very nice. My room was a little quirky, but that's what I enjoy about older, independent hotels. If you're a light sleeper you will hear the trains, but there was a portable fan in the room for "white noise" that helped me sleep.

The hotel and staff are lovely. Our room was clean and comfortable, and a generous size. The view of the harbour was fab! Bed was big, a little hard for our liking, but fine. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable- they need changing. Bathroom fine - shower was roomy and water was hot, good powerful stream. The bidet was placed much too close to the wall, so it was unuseable. Room serviced every day. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a bit limited in choice, but they certainly know how to poach an egg! Location is very convenient for all local attractions. Sadly the immediate area lets it all down - although the hotel can't help that of course. There's a rowdy pub just down the road, the station is noisy if you are front facing and have the window open, and the immediate vicinity feels run down, slightly seedy and I wouldn't go out late at night! A real shame as the hotel is perfectly nice.

Corner location makes it convenient but noisy at night with 3 pubs nearby. Walk almost anywhere in short order. Out room was very larger and the bathroom the largest in our entire UK visit!

Fabulous hotel with wonderful window seats and view of the Warrior. Easy walking distance of Old Portsmouth. Great service and breakfast. Homely warm hotel. Would definitely stay again.

At check in and throughout our stay we were made to feel very welcome. There is a small bar which stayed open for our group each evening. Thank you! Good breakfast with a perfect poached egg! Perfect location with a locked car park.

It is a small hotel with charm. Very quiet. John at the desk was just excellent. Very helpful, pleasant, professional, courteous, and i could go on. The morning breakfast wait staff was excellent as well. Breakfast was very good, pleasant atmosphere. It is 5 minutes from the dock yards which we spent 2 days touring. Also 5 minutes from the quay outlet shopping mall. Lots of fun to walk around. We are definitely staying at the ship leopard boutique hotel next time and will ask for room 15.

Beyond impressed with everything about this hotel. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was warm, comfortable, stylish and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great, cooked to order with a good selection, the waitress was very polite. Parking was so easy and the location was great, so easy to get to gunwharf quays and the harbour literally a few minutes walk away. Overall great customer service which went above and beyond, offering a value you don’t get with larger chain hotels. Excellent value for money. We will book the same hotel again next time and I definitely recommend this hotel to others.

This hotel had lots of good features: - Easy parking ('though locked at night so have to request access); - Great breakfast - I had a very comfortable bedroom with harbour views. - Excellent location: right opposite a main transport hub and close to tourist attractions - Helpful staff The only areas for improvement - in my opinion - are: - The shower - which was very good - did not have a soap/shampoo holder. This is not unusual but I have to ask why? - The lack of a 'Do Not Disturb' sign for the bedroom door However, my main issue - hence the 4-star rating - is that there is no separate bar area. The hotel website does state that it has a "fully licensed bar" but, unfortunately, it is located in the main reception area so is not at all relaxing (as a solo traveller I felt somewhat 'exposed' so had to take my drink to my room).

Location was extremely convenient as we were only staying one night and very central to the dockyards and train station and cruise ship terminal. No air conditioning so on a hot day with windows open, it's a little noisy during the night and morning. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with a choice between traditional kippers and English breakfast, in addition to fruit and continental option. Hotel was a little older than I expected since I associate boutique hotel as more modern but it was clean and cozy.

The Ship Leopard is very close to the Historic Docklands entrance, which was the reason for our visit. We very much appreciated being allowed to leave our car in the car park after checking out, until we left the dockyard in the early afternoon - thank you!

The room was basic and a little tired . It needs more options with the tea tray (bottled water) . And a safer place for it . Windows very draffy didnt close properly felt it wasnt worth the money they were charging .yes we had a sea veiw which was lovely and how it was advertised. Breakfast was disappointing. Need better quality sausages, fried bread socked in fat . Serves when we arrived very friendly and polite. Very clean social aeras . And parking very easy to find .

Beautiful boutique hotel, GREAT staff and location. Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was delicious, with the usual selections PLUS a cooked-to-order hot traditional English breakfast with a beautiful room to enjoy it in, and wonderful staff members to serve you. Front desk staff were very helpful to arrange transportation to Heathrow. A wealth of restaurants and shopping just a short walk away, as is the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the train station. A wonderful stay and I will return! DEFINITELY recommend.

We only had a short stay at the Ship Leopard hotel being a transit from train to the morning ferry. The hotel is perfectly located immediately across the street from the train station, but offered so much more. Surrounded by great restaurants, historic sites, and shopping, it turned out to be the perfect location for our visit to Portsmouth Harbor. The hotel itself is very comfortable with a friendly staff and good amenities. The room was comfortable and made for a nice stay.

This was our second visit to Ship Leopard. The service is faultless. We stayed last year for two days and for our return visit stayed for five nights and were given the same room as last time after we messaged to say how much we liked it. A lovely peaceful hotel The view is incredible and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are clean and serviced daily. Hot breakfast is freshly cooked to order and there is plenty of it. Good range of cereal and pastries are also available Parking is free and the carpark is locked at night ensuring security. A five minute walk from the historic dockyard to one side and Gunwharf outlet shopping centre to the other with a wide range of shops and restaurants. Good pubs serving good food are close by and a steakhouse around the corner. Close to bus interchange, train station and ferry terminals. Harbour view rooms have views of HMS warrior, Spinnaker tower and Gosport across the bay. This was our second visit and we'll be back (hopefully in the same room)
