Stayed 3 nights

This hotel in lovely Siracusa, Sicily is in a rather non-descript building on a wide modern street that unfortunately does not fit the rest of the Siracusa 'vibe.' It sits next to a large building that houses a media company. That is a part of the problem. The hotel, itself, is the major problem. It is a charmless, sterile, cold establishment that is more concerned with its inane rules and regulations than in the concerns of the guests. Having arrived the day before I asked to check in a few hours early. That favor was granted and I thanked the staff. Afterwards, the staff's presentation was about the extra cost of towels should I use them earlier than expected (11 euros if you used them a day or so early) and the absolutely bizarre rule that 'if I used/slept in the wrong bed (I had a suite with two rooms) I would incur a daily extra fee of 15 euros. I was incredulous. Didn't I pay for the suite? I can't sleep where I want should I want to switch beds? (I didn't) There were also two sinks in the bathroom. Would I be charged extra if I brushed my teeth in the 'wrong' sink? And the breakfast was a predictable second rate exhibit that didn't even try to impress. The jam on the table was in those plastic packets- the kind you find in bus stations and homeless shelters. Another staff- V- did try to assist but it was obvious the rules were in charge. The message of this hotel is 'stay here or don't- we don't care.'

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly enjoyed our experience from beginning to end. The property was beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming, and the location made it easy to explore the area. Our room was clean, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, which made the experience even better. After a long day of exploring, it was wonderful to come back to a comfortable place to relax. We would absolutely stay here again and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. It was a great experience and a memorable part of our trip!

Loved our stay! Valentina was so helpful. The room was beautiful and spacious with a nice size bathroom. Breakfast was delicious every morning and the elevator was a great bonus. We would definitely come back.
