A one night stop with my my family at La Casona was a pleasant surprise. The cabins were extremely clean, spacious, nice and well maintained. The surroundings were pretty and enjoyed walking around, watching birds and nature. Restaurant and service top. Definitely hope to stay again at this place.

This boutique hotel is located just south of Cartago, and is the PERFECT spot if you are wanting to visit the Volcanos (Irazu and Turrialba) and/or Tapanti National Park (all highly recommended). The property is actually a working coffee plantation that sits right on beautiful Lake Cachi. The owner Michael was WONDERFUL! He was fully bilingual, truly cared about his property, and our experience of it, and was BEYOND accommodating. Our room was HUGE, very clean, had comfortable bedding, very modern bathroom, and a beautiful back patio area. WiFi worked great. Included breakfast at the property's restaurant was delicious, cooked to order, plentiful, and was provided to-go on two of the days for when we needed to get up and out. Dinner, and of course, their own coffee was also delicious - have the trout fillet - local and awesome. The restaurant has a huge outdoor eating area that over looks the lake and has STUNNING views. Take time to walk around the property as the views are gorgeous. If you want to get out of the bustle of the cities and go to a really beautiful, serene place, La Casona is the ticket. Todo el servicio recibido fue impecable. Desde el check in, la atención del personal, la limpieza de la habitación, la tranquilidad en las instalaciones, la comida del restaurante, las zonas verdes. The Hotel is nice , but the drive way from the road to the hotel is so rough with the big rocks not a graves is kind of not inviting. The garden all dry ( because no rain) that understandable. poor instructions to the rooms and no sign The service is good and room is nice little dark

This was just a stop over for us. Room was spacious and very clean. Little kitchen area was a bonus. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was awful. Everything was over cooked and microwaved, including the white rice. So bad, we didn’t even stay for the free breakfast. But otherwise a beautiful quick place to lay our heads.

Nos hospedamos aquí para celebrar nuestro 20 aniversario. La habitación muy amplia y cómoda, la cual incluía una pequeña terraza al aire libre y caja de seguridad. Excelente limpieza. La atención en el restaurante por parte de Carlos y el chef fue espectacular, con precios muy accesibles. Recibimos una botella de vino espumante de cortesía por nuestro aniversario y nos permitieron un late check out. Personal sumamente amable y muy dispuesto a complacer a su cliente. Definitivamente volveremos.

The room was huge, with a vast en suite and good facilities. It was spotless. The staff were friendly and professional all the time. So helpful. The restaurant had the most wonderful ambience, being semi open air, with a stupendous wire. Great food at every meal.

Sitio muy apropiado para descansar y bien ubicado, sin embargo, no había un Inter comunicador para hablar con la recepción. Después de las 7:00pm no había servicio de restaurante, ni fue posible pedir a un restaurante cercano. No había cerca ninguno disponible. El TV tenía fallas y no hubo como pedir ayuda a la recepción.

Quite and very peaceful Hotel. The perfect place to get in touch with nature and ground. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable with cable Tv. (in case that matters to you). Oh and you really don’t need a/c here in case you worry as I did. I actually had to turned off the ceiling fan because the nice cool temperature at night. The staff was super nice from check in to check out. However, I will recommend to arrive before the sun sets if you are planning on having diner as their restaurant closes at 7:00 pm. and there aren’t many choices around the area. Breakfast in the morning with the lake view was so good, I got the “desayuno típico” but they also have a couple other options. We will definitely stay here again!

Es war alles soweit gut. Wir sind 3 Nächte dort gewesen. Als noch genügend andere Gäste da waren, funktionierte das Internet auf der ganzen Anlage. An unserem letzten Tag wurde dies eingeschränkt, so dass nur noch die Zimmer weiter vorne Internet hatten. Wir nicht mehr. Eigentlich kein Problem, aber wir mussten für den Rückflug Einreiseunterlagen hochladen und ausfüllen etc. Das war dann schon ein Problem.
Es war alles soweit gut. Wir sind 3 Nächte dort gewesen. Als noch genügend andere Gäste da waren, funktionierte das Internet auf der ganzen Anlage. An unserem letzten Tag wurde dies eingeschränkt, so dass nur noch die Zimmer weiter vorne Internet hatten. Wir nicht mehr. Eigentlich kein Problem, aber wir mussten für den Rückflug Einreiseunterlagen hochladen und ausfüllen etc. Das war dann schon ein Problem.

Muy lindas las habitaciones solo recomendaría poner cedazo en las ventanas porque es muy caliente adentro y no se pueden abrir por los bichos. Además deberían de tener a alguien que responda mensajes o llamadas en caso de que los hospedados necesiten algo. Pero por lo demás muy bien

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt in der Natur. Schon die einfahrt durch den Park ist wunderbar. Das Nachtessen war sehr fein. Es war für uns etwas besonderes, da wir die einzigen Gäste waren und trotzdem wurden wir sehr gut betreut und verwöhnt.

This boutique hotel is located just south of Cartago, and is the PERFECT spot if you are wanting to visit the Volcanos (Irazu and Turrialba) and/or Tapanti National Park (all highly recommended). The property is actually a working coffee plantation that sits right on beautiful Lake Cachi. The owner Michael was WONDERFUL! He was fully bilingual, truly cared about his property, and our experience of it, and was BEYOND accommodating. Our room was HUGE, very clean, had comfortable bedding, very modern bathroom, and a beautiful back patio area. WiFi worked great. Included breakfast at the property's restaurant was delicious, cooked to order, plentiful, and was provided to-go on two of the days for when we needed to get up and out. Dinner, and of course, their own coffee was also delicious - have the trout fillet - local and awesome. The restaurant has a huge outdoor eating area that over looks the lake and has STUNNING views. Take time to walk around the property as the views are gorgeous. If you want to get out of the bustle of the cities and go to a really beautiful, serene place, La Casona is the ticket. The room was huge, with a vast en suite and good facilities. It was spotless. The staff were friendly and professional all the time. So helpful. The restaurant had the most wonderful ambience, being semi open air, with a stupendous wire. Great food at every meal.

When we went through Customs and the officer asked where we were staying, he furrowed his brow when I told him Cachi. It’s not a tourist destination, nor is there any apparent reason why it should be. We chose Cachi because it looked like it would be an easy drive from San Jose, and a scenic location on the lake. It was not an easy drive. And the water level of the lake was low, so it wasn’t particularly pretty.

The lake's view from the restaurant at breakfast time is unique in the area. Also you can easily watch and hear birds on the property. A very nice get away option near San Jose to stay and enjoy the valley.

Quite and very peaceful Hotel. The perfect place to get in touch with nature and ground. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable with cable Tv. (in case that matters to you). Oh and you really don’t need a/c here in case you worry as I did. I actually had to turned off the ceiling fan because the nice cool temperature at night. The staff was super nice from check in to check out. However, I will recommend to arrive before the sun sets if you are planning on having diner as their restaurant closes at 7:00 pm. and there aren’t many choices around the area. Breakfast in the morning with the lake view was so good, I got the “desayuno típico” but they also have a couple other options. We will definitely stay here again!

This was just a stop over for us. Room was spacious and very clean. Little kitchen area was a bonus. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was awful. Everything was over cooked and microwaved, including the white rice. So bad, we didn’t even stay for the free breakfast. But otherwise a beautiful quick place to lay our heads.
