The staff was always friendly and professional, the food was decent, and the shows were entertaining. However, the beach was closed and there was nothing done to manage the seaweed. It would have been nice if they invested in a net or barrier to keep their portion of the beach clean for swimming and beach activities.

This was by far the worst place i stayed. Wish for better had high hopes. I read reviews having this place pretty high did not jave the same experience. Food was not good at all pretty sure my stomach issues forntqo days in a row was food poisoning. The staff is real pushy about upgrading to diamond service qhich is real.annoying to me. The pool had scum visibly floating in it wvery day. Now for the good the pool attendants the ladies gwtting drinks and such were awesome. They dont clean room everyday unless specifically ask for it which is weird to me.

The food was nasty, rooms were dirty, room service was very slow, the service was horrible, they gave away our cabana that we reserved, their night club was hot like a sanu (no AC nor fan), the pool parties were laid back because the DJ can’t read the crowd.

La comida del hotel es muy variada La atención personalizada de Jhonny, quien es muy agradable y atento, preocupado por los detalles y consultas que hicimos. Si bien, al llegar tuvimos algunos problemas, finalmente se resolvieron bien con su ayuda y la de Yenifer Astacio, la gerente, y quedamos muy contentos con nuestra estadía. Los tragos están bien preparados y todos muy ricos Destacamos los masajes en la zona de spa, y la hidroterapia, excelente! Las manos de María, quien me trató a mí, fueron divinas, yo llegué con mucho dolor de espalda, y salí como nueva! Lo recomiendo y volveremos sin dudas

*** LONG REVIEW *** PLEASE READ!! I am going to be very honest, do not stay at this resort. The food is terrible, and all of the restaurants do not open up everyday. The pool which is imoirtant at a resort is also closed at 6pm everyday. The alcohol does not rate like the alcohol from home because the alcohol percentage is 35%, while the USA is 40%. Checking in was very smooth, I was walked around the property to be shown everything I needed. The hiccup came when my room was not the room that Expedia advertised. Yes, that’s not the hotels fault but I still felt like I should have been acclimated for what I thought I booked. My friends room: They were locked out for 1hr and we end up missing an important event. My other friends room lights went out every night; with no explanation. My room was the only room to have slippers and robes. Their rooms did not have anything of the sort. Restaurants: Italian was the best we had maybe a 6/10. Lasagne was soup and the Margarita pizza was just cheese with a slice of tomato. The steakhouse made me want to cry, steaks were not at the right temperatures, “mash potatoes” were just boiled and mashed, no salt, butter, cream nothing! The best thing there were the onion rings 2/10 We couldn’t go to the Indian restaurant because it was closed on certain days. Beware that the beaches here have ALOT of seaweed and it smells horrible!!! We tried walking along the shoreline and I literally almost passed out.

NO ELEVATORS! The beds are hard, the sheets & pillow cases seem were dingy & have spots. The towels w dingy too. Before we arrived I had emailed ahead & also thought I booked a room with 2 queen beds. Somehow they received a email requesting 1 king bed. My cousin & I traveled together so I definitely did book a room with 2 beds. Also I also I had asked in the same email in which I did received a response that we were both celebrating birthdays could they do anything special they did nothing. When i showed them the email with their responding email, they were nonchalant, but they did finally get us the 2 beds in a room on the 3rd floor & they do not have elevators, after more then an hour the first day. On Thursday it rained all day we asked for umbrellas because we were stuck in the spa area no one ever came to bring them, the lady in the spa reception area was rude. We asked for a towel to put over our heads, because that all we could get from the concierge in our building to get to the spa which the area floods around the resort, so if you are on the first floor you are guaranteed to get water coming in if it rains all day which it did on thursday. On Friday morning we woke up on the 3rd floor, to an ant infestation & when my cousin went to tell them about it, they were very nonchalant, we told several people that we needed to have our room sprayed, our clothes put in a hot dryer on high heat, the ants had gotten n2 the suitcases that were on the table. It got done hrs ltr.

My sheets were dirty and had sand on them upon my initial check in. The room was musty and smelled like mildew. Staff sprayed air freshener to cover the awful smell. There was no liquor in the mini bar as stated. We were given a small bottle of rum upon our departure. Food was sub-par and we found ourselves eating off the resort or just eating snacks. Complaints were made but not addressed timely or at all. Staff was friendly.

My room had mold in the bathroom and cockroaches in the bathtub. The bathroom as a whole looked like it needed maintenance, the mirrors were old. The hotel is very nice and modern, the nightlife is zero and I found it strange being an adults-only hotel not having a dozen things to do at night other than sit in the hotel lobby and have a drink.

I understand why people like this place. If everything went well this would have been an amazing weekend. If we were assigned the room type on the floor we requested it would have been wonderful. If the room were completely clean without stains on the walls, this would have been great. If there wasn’t mold on the vents, the ceiling, the curtains, or in the closet in our room, this would have been a wonderful stay. If the concierge staff provided viable solutions to the major issue of pervasive mold in the room, rather than making us feel like compensation for these major issues in addition to a solution to the problem were unreasonable, we would have had a marvelous time! If I didn’t have to leave the room at 3am because we became ill from exposure to the mold pouring from the vents, surrounding us and saturating the room, and ask for a new room now rather than tomorrow, we would have enjoyed this location immensely. Mold in our room made us sick. If I didn’t see how significant an issue this is for the resort, noticing mold in almost every public restroom, or perceive the same damp smell in a friend’s room it would have been lovely. If I couldn’t see evidence of deterioration throughout the resort including holes in walls, outlet hanging from cabana walls, rusted roofs, multiple resort bathrooms that are out of order, the pool bar missing its edge, and more, then it could have been a wonderful place for a vacation. But, alas, all the ifs add up to a less than wonderful

Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Staff is very friendly and always ready to serve you. Rudy was the best! Huge variety of drinks. And beach is awesome! Steak house was so good. Definitely would go back.

This property has potential to be very nice but it lacks a team of professionals that maintain the property. The pool tiles are falling apart, rooms smell moldy, building (inside and out) are failing apart. I’ve never been to a resort that isn’t maintained at all. The canapés that you spend all this money on have no working electricity for music, the frig or even charging your phones. The outdoor frig is full of mold and rust… couldn’t believe it. There is no air circulation in the building, it’s so hot and stuffy. And on top of this they have “working girls” that hat check in for 1-2 days at a time to take advantage of tourist in the area. I couldn’t believe it! Never again would I go back to this resort or any of the Royalton brand hotels. The only 3 good things were: The beach Our butler- Roberto And the nightly entertainment/shows

Also I also I had asked in the same email in which I did received a response that we were both celebrating birthdays could they do anything special they did nothing. When i showed them the email with their responding email, they were nonchalant, but they did finally get us the 2 beds in a room on the 3rd floor & they do not have elevators, after more then an hour the first day. On Thursday it rained all day we asked for umbrellas because we were stuck in the spa area no one ever came to bring them, the lady in the spa reception area was rude. We asked for a towel to put over our heads, because that all we could get from the concierge in our building to get to the spa which the area floods around the resort, so if you are on the first floor you are guaranteed to get water coming in if it rains all day which it did on thursday. On Friday morning we woke up on the 3rd floor, to an ant infestation & when my cousin went to tell them about it, they were very nonchalant, we told several people that we needed to have our room sprayed, our clothes put in a hot dryer on high heat, the ants had gotten n2 the suitcases that were on the table. The property was beautiful however the rooms were outdated. My room had a very old smell, seems it was frm the old A/C vents. The bathroom designed without a door, the toilet has a door but no main door for the bathroom. The entertainment was 3/10, daily entertainment at the poor was like 1 day outta my 6 days 04/14-19/2025. Night shows were like 1hour for couple nights. The club wasn’t jumping, one night they had karaoke which lead to a mini party. My overall stay 5/10

The property is too outdated to be called lixury and the price should be lower. Property had rust and is outdated. They only have the pools and nightly entertainment. Most restaurants were not open. Not alot of options of food at the buffet. The TV worked when it wanted to. Our last day the water pressure in the shower was very low. The resort was clean and service was great and the people were nice! But it's not worth the price or the word luxury!

In my opinion it’s better to pay a little more and stay at another resort. The place is clean and has some nice amenities, but the overall dining experience was not up to par. We also experienced a situation where the air conditioning seemed to not be working when we got into our room. I thought maybe because of the settings it was left on before we arrived so I waited to see what the room was like after we returned from the pool in the early evening before dinner. There was still a problem. I tried to call for help, but the phone didn’t work. So I put in a request on the app and went to the front desk. I notified them. They called maintenance. Maintenance never arrived before we had to leave for dinner so I went back to the desk and told them it was ok for them to go in and see what the problem was while we were out. After returning from our night out it was still not cool. I had to go back the front desk again and request maintenance. They finally showed up, nothing could be done and we were forced to switch rooms at 3am in the morning. They didn’t even offer and do anything to compensate us for this inconvenience. Like I said, go to another resort.

In particular, our Expedia representative at the Royalton Chic, named Deivid, could not get enough praise for myself or the bachelor party group of 11. From the very moment we checked-in he was very helpful in helping us with a very detailed and well guided tour. For the rest of the stay, he was constantly checking in on us, reaching out to us, and always make sure that all of the wishes and needs of our group were satisfied. Deivid was absolutely fantastic and personable and a large reason why our bachelor party group of 11 had an absolutely stellar time for the duration of our stay. I could not give him enough praise, and he deserves all the recognition in the world for the stellar job he is doing.

**Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!** My recent stay at the Royalton Chic in the Dominican Republic ended in a complete nightmare. When I tried to check out, the front desk staff accused me of booking an excursion under my room number – an excursion I *never* booked. They insisted I pay for it and refused to let me check out until it was resolved. I spent **45 stressful minutes** trying to explain this wasn’t my charge. No one believed me. Finally, by complete luck, the *actual guest* who used my room number for the excursion happened to walk by as she was leaving to go home. Only then did they acknowledge their mistake — **a mistake that could’ve caused me to miss my flight**. Their response after all this? Just a weak “sorry.” This is completely unacceptable. I will NEVER stay at this property and even questioning if I will ever comeback to Punta Cana again. On the day I was leaving, as usual I am going to the front desk to conclude all matters, and I was supposed to be at the airport by 3pm, it was 1pm. I had paid for my trip via Expedia on January 3 and was staying January 14 - 19, 2025. At this time their rep had stated I owe $2300 for my stay. I showed my itinerary, receipt of purchase on Expedia and my bank statement. They stated I had forged all the documents. After 45 minutes of fighting, they stated I owe $1300. I still refused to make any payment. At this time, they started asking how much lose money did I have. I stated none. At 215 pm I proceeded to take my luggage and walk off the premises. My fiancé and I were outside the gates, when they had 7 male staff members start pushing us around and not letting us leave. One staff member pushed me (which now has caused meniscus damage to my left knee. The staff member then took my suitcase and brought it back to the resort. At this time the tourist police were called. At this time, they also asked how much money I had. 6 male staff members surrounded my fiancé and would not let him move and kept him from me. At this time, many people were recording the situation as I was also. With such attention, the manager stated to pay $500, and they would give me back my suitcase and fiancé. The tourist police said this was fair. I paid the $500 and we were released. NEVER

Once the staff know that you don't want to sit through a time share meeting, they start to treat you different and stop being helpful. Food was the same at the buffet daily. The thread wrist band they give you once you check in that is your room key started irritating my skin and they didn't have another option for a wrist band. I had to put the key piece around a necklace so I can still have access to my room.

Terrible customer service. One manager told us something and the other one said no. One man just said I wasn’t gonna get charged for something and they never put it in the system so I had to pay to get out. Had service refused to serve. I joined the diamond club after 3 days and felt like the most special person in the world. My butler Roberto was my favorite part. He catered to me because of my medical issue. He made food reservations, let me know the daily activities and was quick to respond to my requests. I had an issue where I needed to go to the resort Doctor. Roberto walked me to the doctor and stayed with me until I was done. The doctor was amazing. He was Thorough and spent a long time with me not just a quick 15 minute exam. Let me clarify this was my issue nothing to do with the resort. I got moved to a room that has the swim out pool attached to your patio. Amazing!! Splurge and get it. Totally worth it. The beach is beautiful and sitting in comfortable loungers sipping a drink was magical. The drinks flowed freely and were never watered down. Everyone from the gardeners to top management say hello all with a smile on their face. I don’t know how they do it but many staff even remember your name. I felt completely safe and never worried about anything at all. The food was 5 star in my opinion. The buffet really stands out for me. The set up was not only delicious but pleasing to the eyes. There are 7 different restaurants if I remember correctly. Every day and nite there is fun entertainment. I didn’t experience the nite life but it sounded like everyone was always enjoying themselves. The area was clean, rooms clean and comfortable. The grounds were so green and impeccable.

Staff was great as we expected! Natalie took great care of all our requests and questions. The resort itself is absolutely stunning and the grounds were a beautiful site anywhere you went. The buffet was good at best. The pools were gorgeous and amazing!!! We rented a cabana one day and just WOW! What an experience of the space, the snacks (food was too good), drinks, and the activities! Every activity was so fun and entertaining! However our room wasn’t the best. The AC wasn’t great, fridge did not work, we asked for ice a couple times and never came. Room service wait was at least 90 mins or more and not anything to brag about either. The room wasn’t the cleanest in terms of towels, countertop and pillow cases. I expected a little more luxury for the room. Bed was super firm and uncomfortable and pillows were completely worn out. For what we paid per night, it wasn’t the best. We went to Vespa and Hunter for dinner and both did not disappoint. The VibeTeam was so cool and made sure every guest had fun! We paid for a night pass at Royalton Splash and that was great for their All White Party. Buffet was so delicious there too! The foam party at Chic was cancelled after we paid for the cabana rental because of the foam party.

For what we paid per night, it wasn’t the best. We went to Vespa and Hunter for dinner and both did not disappoint. The VibeTeam was so cool and made sure every guest had fun! We paid for a night pass at Royalton Splash and that was great for their All White Party. Buffet was so delicious there too! The foam party at Chic was cancelled after we paid for the cabana rental because of the foam party.

I read many reviews and watched many videos before going to this hotel. I chose to pay extra for the diamond club for the room’s view (not the pool area or snack lounge). There are no elevators at this resort so you will be walking. The pool furniture is pretty outdated. The hot tub wasn’t so hot. The food offerings were pretty slim. I heard the same six (remixed) songs on repeat for days. If you don’t book the diamond club your room could be in a building that would require a bit of walking. I do think it was worth what we paid for, although I wish there were more healthier options. While I wouldn’t return back to this specific resort in the DR, I would try their sister location in Cancun. It’s also a 40min ride from the airport.

The convenience of having everything close was exciting as to the pool the beach the food facilities. The concierge service with Jean and Cesar are first class as well as the in room cleanliness but the bathrooms around the pool area would need to be cleaned more often. The entertainment and the bar service was excellent. The thing I did not like was when they tried to push that time sharing or whatever you call it.when you get in the office everyone is nice they shake your hand and are being very friendly but after several attempts to sell you and you don’t buy it they get up and leave without even shaking your hand it was very disrespectful and the worst part is I was actually considering to buy it. All that said yes I would come back to Royalton but there is no way I would go to one of those time share meeting again.

Our checkin was far from a great experience. As we entered, there were guests loudly shouting with management. The conversation should’ve been taken elsewhere. We had to ask twice for a welcome drink. Upon getting to our room, our mini bar was not stocked at all. Ice machines are not present anywhere. You have to go to the bar or ask the front desk. I never got ice that I requested for 3 times. The grounds were beautiful, the food was decent, drinks were good. I would be liked to have had tacos as an option. The amount of peddlers on the beach was quite annoying. Overall, our stay was great but needs a better check in process and ice machines for guests.

The cleaning staff and personal butler was great, Our butler, Johnny was Steller (5 stars) he checked in each morning, responded when I had questions, booked our reservations. Diamond Club is not worth it! We decided to get Diamond Club and it came with Butler service. The Butler service was poor and we had a hard time getting a hold of him. We were supposed to get a bottle of alcohol when we first arrived (per our butler) we received this after repeated text….3 days later. There were really no perks to Diamond Club. The food was average to below average. We had 15 meals there and we did not receive one meal that was correct. For instance for a garden burger and it was a steak between two buns. Ordered a bagel and got a salad. The drinks all had this same sweet flavor in every one. The staff really didn’t seem like they cared much accept for the bartenders. There was hair and garbage all over the entire hotel. Pools were very dirty. We had cats fighting on our deck by our swim up pool two nights in a row at 2am. There was someone trying to sell, or up sell is something just about every couple hours on the property. The bed was so loud it would wake myself or my fiancé up if we moved. The restaurants were so hot it was miserable eating in there. The beach was not nice at all. The entertainment was great and probably the best part. Sum it up we would never stay here again.

Downfall is the food. Buffet was small and pretty much the same the three days I stayed as for the specialty dinning it was no better and maybe cause it was the beginning of the week or slow they only had one open at a time so you had go by their schedule for dining options. I wish I could give this property a 5-star rating, but I can't. First, when we arrived at the resort, we were welcomed by the staff. They were extremely helpful and kind. My issue was when I went to my room. It smelled like Mildew. I went back to the front desk and told them the problem, and they moved me to another room that smells the same but not as bad. However, the smell of mildew coming from the air conditioner vents was a complete turn-off. The third day, housekeeping cleaned my room. It smelled like a breath of fresh air. Now, let me tell you what I love the most. The entertainment was absolutely amazing, the pool parties and late-night shows 5 stars. The food was hit-or-miss, meaning. When the food was catered on the beach and in the sand, it was delicious. When they catered and grilled the food next to the pool, it was delicious, and breakfast was really good as well. Now the restaurants you have to make reservations for. We had reservations at the Italian restaurant and the lasagna and pizza were awful. The next night, we had reservations at Hunter's Steakhouse. I ordered a steak, and my husband did as well. We both said medium well. The steak taste like we were chewing rubber band. It was awful. Lastly, don't let them bother you into going to a presentation "timeshare" It a waste of time. They will say, "We can get you free massages or free romantic dinner on the beach for two. Tell them "NO." They are trying to sell you a timeshare.
