Im Ardgort Country House loben Gäste durchweg die herzliche Gastfreundschaft von John, den traditionellen Charme, die sauberen, komfortablen Zimmer und das reichhaltige Frühstück, zusammen mit der friedlichen Lage, die fußläufig zum Zentrum von Castlederg und mit bequemen Parkplätzen vor Ort ist.

Einige weisen darauf hin, dass das historische Gebäude an manchen Stellen etwas veraltet wirkt; das hoteleigene Restaurant und die Bar sind derzeit nicht geöffnet, und die Auswahl an Abendessen in der Stadt kann begrenzt sein. Host entered our locked room while we were gone to draw the shades and turn our tv off. Invasion of privacy. Also, beware if you come here in the winter, host is a penny pincher and won’t keep the heat on in the house past 10pm. We were absolutely freezing and had to leave the accommodation because it was far too cold for our children. He refused to turn it on.

very friendly service, even if the owner didn't seem to expect us. Huge property with plenty of parking spaces, comfortable, clean and big bed- and bathroom. The house and signpost does need some TLC on the outside though

John offered me a choice of room. I took a corner room on 1st floor with huge private terrace. Traditional decor. Lovely bar lounge with wood fire. All very relaxing. Country views but town five minutes walk away with castle park & lots of bars & a few restaurants. Great breakfast and complementary box of chocolates on way out!

John was a wonderful host and our room was fabulous. We has a balcony with table and chairs and a super comfortable bed. Coffee and tea in room, good TV, wifi. There is a nice size bar on the main level but we did not visit. The property compares almost to a grand hotel in its splendor, just not so big. We liked the location because we visited off the beaten tourist track towns in Ireland. The town of Castlederg is undergoing some public square renovations and the dining choices were a bit limited. We had a nice meal at El Greco.

Lovely manager, our queen bed was in a large room with a balcony and outdoor sitting area. The shower has low pressure so that was the only negative. Easy to find and parking on site was great.

A taste of the old roadside hotel with a 2 minute walk to town center. Our host, John, is a terrific fellow eager to do anything for you. He has a full bar available to you and makes a nice breakfast as well.

Our host, John, maintains the property inside and out with care - from the fountain out front to the cleanliness of the rooms. John provides a warm fire in the woodstove in the evenings and is a delightful conversationalist. I stayed at the Ardgort Country House for 3 nights whilst on business. I really enjoyed the stay, my room was well equipped, very clean, warm and had a good shower. The breakfast was excellent you must try the Full Irish cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope I have the opportunaty to return sometime soon.

Incredibly hospitable! We loved our stay! Room was clean and comfortable and private. John was an incredible host, very welcoming, made a great breakfast, and we loved chatting with him. he even showed us the best way out of town by chauffeuring us in his own vehicle! Thank you John and God bless!

We had a great stay. The room was as expected and clean. It has a lot of Charme and is absolutely good for a stay. A special highlight is John, the host. Absolutely kind and courteous! He made our stay as authentic as we wished it to be. We can definitely recommend staying there!

We had an excellent stay at Ardgort House. Our room was spacious and well equipped. John is an absolute gentleman and served up a great breakfast. Walking distance to a very friendly town. We were lucky to be there for the Black Saturday parade. Thank you John for being a wonderful host.

My partner and I stayed for just one night and met John, our host, on arrival. John was an absolute gentleman and made every effort to accommodate us. The room was perfect, spacious, with an adjoining terrace that had gorgeous views of the local countryside. Breakfast the next day was, as everything else, impeccable! Overall a very welcoming and relaxing experience and we would highly recommend Ardgort House to anyone travelling in this area!

I already wrote a review about how rude the owner is, so I won’t repeat. This ‘hotel’ is tired and remote. It isn’t quaint and it’s not a good representation of how charming Ireland can be. No bar (wish I had taken a photo), no restaurant, the beds are old and not particularly comfortable, the comforter was way too warm for the lovely summer weather on offer. Not particularly eco friendly as body wash and shampoo was in small plastic bottles. I couldn’t be paid to go back!

This is a charming and cozy B&B. The bed was a little low and we couldn’t get the TV to work but we were tired anyway. This was a one night stop on our way around Ireland and it suited us just fine.

The traditional bed and breakfast where the host greets you, shows you the room, asks for your breakfast order and makes breakfast. We loved the old charm of the place. The hard beds were perfect for my achy back after a long day of travel (squishy beds are the worst for my back). Kids loved having their own beds. Host was so kind, went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and treated. Thank you for this authentic experience! We loved walking into town, getting food at the grocery store then had a picnic in the new park. Fun, safe, family-friendly area!

The hard beds were perfect for my achy back after a long day of travel (squishy beds are the worst for my back). Kids loved having their own beds. Host was so kind, went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and treated. Thank you for this authentic experience! We loved walking into town, getting food at the grocery store then had a picnic in the new park. Fun, safe, family-friendly area!

If you’re looking for modern, hi- tech and gourmet food don’t go. If you’re looking for friendly, traditional and original it’s a great place. Nice location, big well equipped rooms and just the best hospitality, memories and laughs with owner John. We stayed on our way to Lusty Beg Island snd it was ideal with an interesting straight and “roller coaster road” down to the lakes. A place to make a memory or few.

John was a wonderful host and our room was fabulous. We has a balcony with table and chairs and a super comfortable bed. Coffee and tea in room, good TV, wifi. There is a nice size bar on the main level but we did not visit. The property compares almost to a grand hotel in its splendor, just not so big. We liked the location because we visited off the beaten tourist track towns in Ireland. The town of Castlederg is undergoing some public square renovations and the dining choices were a bit limited. We had a nice meal at El Greco.

Our host, John, maintains the property inside and out with care - from the fountain out front to the cleanliness of the rooms. John provides a warm fire in the woodstove in the evenings and is a delightful conversationalist. Incredibly hospitable! We loved our stay! Room was clean and comfortable and private. John was an incredible host, very welcoming, made a great breakfast, and we loved chatting with him. he even showed us the best way out of town by chauffeuring us in his own vehicle! Thank you John and God bless!

We had an excellent stay at Ardgort House. Our room was spacious and well equipped. John is an absolute gentleman and served up a great breakfast. Walking distance to a very friendly town. We were lucky to be there for the Black Saturday parade. Thank you John for being a wonderful host.

I stayed at the Ardgort Country House for 3 nights whilst on business. I really enjoyed the stay, my room was well equipped, very clean, warm and had a good shower. The breakfast was excellent you must try the Full Irish cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope I have the opportunaty to return sometime soon.

Had a lovely stay here in a very comfortable house. Warm welcome from Johnny and his dad and asked if I wanted some fresh milk for tea once I was shown to my room…always a good sign! My room was beautifully furnished and clean and very bright, with a lovely spacious balcony overlooking the hills. Tasty breakfast and on the road. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Host entered our locked room while we were gone to draw the shades and turn our tv off. Invasion of privacy. Also, beware if you come here in the winter, host is a penny pincher and won’t keep the heat on in the house past 10pm. We were absolutely freezing and had to leave the accommodation because it was far too cold for our children. He refused to turn it on.
