Vineyard Hacienda

The facility is lovely peaceful and quiet. The staff is top notch. Helpful kind respectful We visited the wine cellar and learned a lot about the facility and wines. We purchased wine for a family gathering and to bring home for Easter. We will return soon.

We stayed in the Merlot room, I recommend as it has a large balcony with a table / chairs, great for enjoying a meal outdoors. We stayed in early March so the pool was a little cool and the hot tub wasn't functioning but everything else about the property and room was great, we will be back. All of the staff we met were courteous, the Hacienda is outside of the city so it's a very tranquil place to relax after spending a day doing activities around San Diego. There is a koi pond, a vineyard, a game room with a pool table, all and all it was a relaxing place to stay and as I said, we'll be back, I recommend staying here if you are looking for something away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Champagne room was great. Had that vintage charm. Pool and hot tub being open 24 hours is amazing. Beautiful sunsets and very friendly and attentive staff.

Booked as an ADA room but the shower handle was broken and the regular shower had sprung a leak. A shame really as the bathroom was really well thought out, just not usable. The pool lift was not working, but it wouldn’t have mattered as there was no accessible route to the pool. The main part of the house is the only accessible area. The gardens are beautiful and mostly accessible. We enjoyed our stay overall. It’s more like staying at a relatives place than a hotel or resort.

This is a unique and beautiful property. I never saw another customer even though they were fully booked and I like this. I had an issue with the shower and they were super responsive. There was a mix up regarding payment but the owner handled it in a timely matter. I wish the bed and pillows were a smidge more comfy but I’m a picky sleeper. My husband was fine. The pool area is very pretty, there is a garden area, a pond, pretty lights at night. They gave us a glass of delicious wine and it was really thoughtful. There are two friendly dogs on the property. Luna the molinois is super cute. You are given an actual key to your room and the property. The staff is super friendly and personable. I like the overall vibe and I would go back. Make sure you read how to get to the property so you don’t get confused or lost.

Me and the wife like the fact that it's so peaceful and quiet. There is allot of property to walk around and enjoy nature. There is a pool area a game room next to the pool a jacuzzi a koi fish pond with allot of fish. The decorations of the house are beautiful plenty of art. The room we stayed in the Santa Fe room is very spacious and had a private balcony the restroom decoration is awesome. Over all I would be returning. Was here from a Friday to Saturday morning

Stayed for a few days at this quiet, out of the way hacienda. The rooms are themed and our room had an updated bathroom and shower. The room was spacious and the property was beautiful! Outdoor pool was unheated but I can imagine that it would be lovely in the warmer weather. The area around the pool was well appointed and great for stargazing.

My wife surprised me with a lovely trip to this secret hideaway. Not only was it perfect for us.The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed and more. Pierre and Patty's assistance and politeness gave us the most welcome stay ever. I literally told my wife when we woke up after the first night that I felt as if we were at a family members house. Such a cozy and pleasant environment. Patty welcomed us with a complimentary glass of white or red wine upon check-in. Pierre made sure that we had everything we needed for a great evening. He even offered a speaker for our music and to heat up the jacuzzi if we liked to use it. I mean super friendly. The game room was so cool and we had it all to ourselves to play arcade games, pool, ping pong and dance. I cant wait to return with our daughters. Unfortunately the rain didn't allow us to explore the property like we would have given dryer conditions. Great service, clean, quiet and spacious what else could you ask for, we LOVED IT!!

It is a little quirky to say the least, it was built in the 1930's, and is a beautiful property out in East County, but easy commute into San Diego. Check in was easy, call the number posted, you are greeted by friendly staff, and a complimentary glass of wine. The hallways and bedrooms are dark paneling, so I could see that would not be everyone's taste. Look at the room photos. folks. It is VERY serene & relaxing, there are only six rooms, so you do feel like you are staying with family. There is no front desk, and when you check out you leave the key in the room and leave the door open. The property is amazing for an evening stroll, swim-the pool is huge, fabulous game room by pool. We did a little wine tasting; Happy Hour is 5-7pm withe the most fun bartender I ever met! He took us on the wine cellar tour, absolutely amazing. Now then, if you don't like dogs or are allergic, there are two dogs roaming freely that live there. Luna is a 7-month-old Belgian Malinois, so is a little intimidating at first, once she recognizes you, she is fine, she is doing her job of protecting the property. She did bark a little in the day, but the nights are quiet and restful. Lots of comfortable seating areas in the wrap around loggia. Fridge in room, plus each room updated with mini-split a/c. There is a microwave in pool house to use. I would suggest a small table across opening to kitchen with fruit/juice & pastries in the morning.

Place is beautiful!!! Worth the price. They do have a dog that barks alot at people but my husband didn't mind, the room made a noise all night that kept me up dont know if its a plumbing issue. But overall not bad for what you pay. Love that there is not alot of people there feels very private we will be coming back.

We loved the uniqueness of this property (we stayed in the Pharaoh room) -- it had so much character and truly felt like a resort nestled away off the beaten path. Even had hiking trails nearby. Furthermore, the staff made us feel welcome and right at home (very LGBTQ friendly!). One thing that\'s important to know: Make sure you write down the phone number that\'s listed on the property just outside of the entrance door. This is what you use to call the "front desk" for anything you might need throughout your stay (towels, linens, soap, etc.). We weren\'t made aware of this up front and figured it out on our own later on. There often isn\'t anyone sitting at the front desk, but this phone line was always answered and we got everything we needed timely using it. While the majority of the property was clean and well-kept, it would be nice to see a bit more attention to detail to really take the place to the next level. Shelves in the bathroom were a bit dusty, the duvet had some stains on the inside (we got a clean blanket from the front desk to cover up with instead), the bathroom sink wasn\'t draining properly, and the sheets, while clean, had a hole in them I could fit my thumb through. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want an experiential travel experience and don\'t mind a few quirks. We would definitely stay again.

Never stay here. The staff was undriendly and absent. The linens looked like they were not changed. When we checked in the staff knew the hot water was broken. We had planned to stay for four nights but left after one due to only cold showers. They are unresponsive to any refunds. No good.

From the moment I arrived it was quiet, private and serene. Everything was handled so quickly and I loved the Santa Fe room with its own rooftop balcony. Everything was clean and accessible. I will definitely be back!

The bedding was cheap, worn, and in need of replacement, as it had holes; one had been mended but was still noticeable but I found multiple others. The bed and pillows could have been nicer/more comfortable. The room itself was dusty in several places, including the chandelier, the headboard, and above the curtains. The room needs a fresh coat of paint as it has become discolored. Some of the furniture was also need of repair. The bathroom is original and has some charming features, but the shower window appears to have been badly put together with leftovers of other renovations. There was tile hanging out of one side and it is visibility uneven in its construction. The sink is pretty but difficult to use because of the faucet and sink style. The countertop needs to be replaced as it has become worn with water damage. If it was better maintained, it could have easily been a 5 star stay.

Upon finding the front door (in the dark) I called the phone number on the sign to check in. I was told to just walk in, os I walked through the door into a dark hallway and followed a voice telling me where to go through the dark maze of hallways until I managed to find the one lit room. I was told that my room (the Bordeaux king room I requested) was given to another group of people but I was assigned a different room upstairs. OK fine. The room was a oddly decorated room with a (smallish) queen size bed. Even though the blanket on the bed was black, it looked really dirty. The soap dispenser didn't work, the room smelled faintly of cigarettes. The hallways of the hotel are DARK and maze like. The door doesn't have a dead bolt and the knob is really hard to unlock, we almost had to call the staff member since we stood in the dark hall several minutes with a flashlight trying to unlock the door after we had gone out for dinner. I can't figure out why this place has so many great reviews.

I booked to stay in the Bordeaux room weeks before our stay but was told it was not available. I chose this place for the charming ambiance of the cottage like room but got the Pharaoh room instead. The two are so different, I was quite upset. We got a room next to a dark, steep wooden staircase that easily generated noise when guests are climbing the steps. The room is huge but the decor does not do it justice. The house is poorly lit and one can easily get lost because there are no exit signs. This was probably a glorious house once and the grounds are beautiful. The vineyard was bare due to December weather but it was still beautiful. There is a trail nearby. A well lit sign will greatly help from the main road because this property is situated at the end of a long driveway.

The staff did a nice job in cleaning after the big Feb 2023 rainfall, before we arrived. Vineyard Hacienda is a 1930s building, with the good and the quirky things that come with that. Big heavy solid wood doors are very cool, but noisy with every passage. Not a lot of sound insulation. It looks like a very nice wedding venue. It is a little hard to find without much signage, but a navigation app will take you right there.

Rhonda is the best host. She offered us wine at check in, and we sat by the pool and enjoyed a peaceful time. Walked around the beautiful grounds. Patty gave us a nice explanation of the history of the property. Our room was just right for a stopover to Mexico. Highly recommend this oasis!

We could not check in because the room (Champagne) was still occupied. The guests before us were given a late check out. The host put us in another room which was half the size until they left. I couldn’t settle in since it wasn’t our room, just basically a holding cell. We had plans for a game at Petco so we just left early. Mind you that check in is at 2 and as we left for the game at 4:10 our room was still occupied. When we arrived later that evening (midnight) our luggage was in “our room” as promised, but I still had to settle in. Something that would’ve been done had I been in my room. Tired, irritated, and wanting to get some rest we retired…..ONLY to have someone come into our room in the middle of the night. I had locked the door!! It was a nightmare and of course at check out no one to be found. I called the number on the door and asked to speak to the manager/owner and was told he was in a conference on a Sunday morning and he would call me later….2 days later and still NO phone call! I’m flabbergasted how this place has such wonderful reviews.

My wife arrived after dark and was unable to find the hotel. The area is pitch dark and no sign or light at the road going to hotel. She was hysterical. She did contact the hotel and they came out to 94 and found her. Really ba bad experience

The staff was super friendly and welcoming, especially the wine tasting host, Justin. The location is quite convenient, with a beautiful property, pool and a hot tub. As long as you're not hitting high traffic you're 20 mins away from everything important. Two call outs would be that the place is slightly outdated, and to let ppl know about cats on the premise (allergy warning). If I were the owner, I'd furnish the rooms to newer styles and add an after hrs electronic check in option. Otherwise, definitely recommend the place.

Luna is a 7-month-old Belgian Malinois, so is a little intimidating at first, once she recognizes you, she is fine, she is doing her job of protecting the property. She did bark a little in the day, but the nights are quiet and restful. Lots of comfortable seating areas in the wrap around loggia. Fridge in room, plus each room updated with mini-split a/c. There is a microwave in pool house to use. I would suggest a small table across opening to kitchen with fruit/juice & pastries in the morning.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming, especially the wine tasting host, Justin. The location is quite convenient, with a beautiful property, pool and a hot tub. As long as you're not hitting high traffic you're 20 mins away from everything important. Two call outs would be that the place is slightly outdated, and to let ppl know about cats on the premise (allergy warning). If I were the owner, I'd furnish the rooms to newer styles and add an after hrs electronic check in option. Otherwise, definitely recommend the place.

Wanted a staycation to just getaway for the weekend with the husband. Wanted a quiet place to decompress. They delivered. Not you fancy, frou-frou, Four Seasons. But if you want a beautiful escape from the world, this is it. Enjoyed the wine tasting and touring the wine cellar (sooooo cool!). Lounged out by the pool. Did yoga in the meditation garden. Fed the koi fish. Definitely want to go back. It felt like we were going back in time to Tuscany or the south of France.
