Was there for extended stay. Advertised as a suite, had less furniture than a typical hotel room. advertised as seperate sleeping areas only to find one of them was the kitchen living area. No pool. None of the exercise equipment worked.

Everything was great accept for not being able to use the gym since it was vandalized the week before we arrived. Our phone didn’t work but that wasn’t a big issue for us. We had a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again and recommend to people. One of the quietest hotels I have ever stayed at .

Our room was perfectly clean. Very large, even for a studio. Stocked with everything we might have needed, extra towels, tissue and kitchen necessities. Bed was super comfortable, with lux pillows and linens. Security elevator required card to use, which was very comforting knowing that outsiders could not access hotel floors or lobby. We loved sitting on the 3rd floor outdoor patio, getting a Birdseye view of the streets below. Parking was not free, but worth the cost to know our vehicle was in a secure garage. We had access to street car pick up nearby, busses and taxi/Uber service. Canal street is just a short walk behind the hotel, so it was a great location! Most of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, would recommend to others and would stay again should we be in the area.

We had a great time however there need to a better solution for valet. We waited over 2hrs to get our car and they charged me card that was on deposit for the car valet. This is unacceptable.

Room was clean and very spacious, staff was friendly, breakfast has good variety. The rooftop area was quite nice. The location was a 15 min walk from the French Quarter. There were no ice machines for guest use but the front desk gave us ice. The showers did not have doors so the bathroom floor got wet, and the towels, although clean, did not feel or smell fresh.

The Suites are very nice ad comfortable. The only thing I was not happy with is how much they charge for valet parking...$47.00 a night! That's ridiculous. Then the garage that we had to park in was wide open with rats running around. The only way to go into the suites is the front door. I know there is the concern of safety especially in the area it is in. But overall, the suites are very good especially for the price

There do not have everyday room cleaning. When i first arrived the pillows cases had not been changed and had yellow stains on all over them. On day 2 i called front desk for fresh towels, they said someone would bring some up but they never did. I called a second time and they still never brung any up so i had to go down and get them myself. They have big rats all outside the hotel.

We went to New Orleans for a Pelicans game. The hotel was super close and convenient. I like that you have to use your key card to get through the doors; I felt safe. I like that there is a parking garage right next door. It was nice to just park and leave my car there while roaming around New Orleans. They had a refrigerator and stove. Which would be great if I was staying for a week. The only thing I didn’t like was the carpet in the room. It seemed old with stains but overall it was a great place to stay.

Hotel was SUPER dirty. The first room smelled so bad as soon as I opened the door there was the strongest moldy smell. We changed rooms and they were very nice to upgrade us, but tell me why the new room had BLOOD and a PUBE on the toilet seat?!?! Stains everywhere, furniture, carpet, etc. The front desk staff were extremely nice though, breakfast was great, location was excellent. Would not stay here again though.

The place looks nice at first but when you pay attention you can see it’s dirty, the sofa in the room had what we think where blood stains and dirt in the sides, the carpet was very dirty, in the bed and towels you could find hairs. Breakfast was really good, better than what you find in most hotels.

Older hotel but super comfortable beds & pillows. Small bathroom but clean. Nicely stocked kitchenette with full size fridge, dishwasher, and oven range. Staff were friendly. Did ask for extra towels and never git them.

We stayed for three nights. It was a great hotel for our needs and fairly inexpensive. It’s not for people expecting a resort feel. It is definitely a basic extended stay hotel. Not a resort. Pros: The room was basic, but very clean and the bed was super comfy! Didn’t see any pests of any sort. Had everything we needed to cook with and didn’t have to buy disposable plates or anything. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was good and had quite a few options. The hotel had an awesome patio. Super close to the French quarter, and Ubers were cheap. They have a little canteen area with snacks and ice and such. Cons: the area was pretty rough. Across the street from the police station and a bus stop. Saw some drug paraphernalia scattered on the ground, and lots of people sleeping on the sidewalks. Definitely uber places after dark. And don’t go into any sketchy alleys or areas. Parking was very expensive through the hotel ($50 a night). We self parked in the garage next door for $30 or less a night. The walls are not sound proof. Our last night there we had a large group in the room next door and the music was intolerable, I let the staff know and they sorted it out. Would definitely stay again!

My only complaint would be that the rooms got warm. I reserved the two separater room suite and in order to keep the rooms cool, we had to set the AC to 65 degrees which made the living space freezing. Otherwise the hotel was nice and in a good location to the festivities.

My room, 313, was spacious ans I loved that it was at the end of the corridor. However, as roomy as the space was, it had NO closet. The door to, what I presumed ahould have been the closet, had an extrs-large HVAC within it AND a significant unfurnished ceiling. Pipes, wires, open drywall were exposed. Not the visual I was hoping to see when I looked for a closet. Overall, not a twrrible stay!

Absolutely loved this hotel. Great location! 8 minute walk to bourbon st. Very clean and secure. Amazing, helpful, sweet and knowledgeable staff. (Everyone, which is rare) A lot of options for breakfast. And wonderful staff. It saddens me to give them 4 instead of 5 stars. And the only reason is that we had the room near the balcony, which whole it was a nice view, came with a constant stream of other guests hanging out there. And for some strange reason their favorite spot was up against our windows. And it sounded like they were in our room, at all hours of the night and early morning. Would definitely stay at this hotel again, in a different room. Highly recommend.

We had a terrible experience at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans Downtown. Despite having confirmed Expedia reservations, our rooms were oversold when we arrived. The operations manager blamed Expedia instead of taking responsibility, even though Expedia confirmed the hotel had accepted the reservations. Check-in was unprofessional—the operations manager complained loudly about being tired of checking people in, took calls, walked off for breaks, and had a full conversation with a coworker while we waited. He even yelled at my husband when the hotel’s doors malfunctioned, wrongly accusing him of causing the issue and publicly embarrassed us in front of the lobby. We had service animals and offered documentation, which he declined, assuring us there would be no pet fees. After checkout, we were charged $175.13 and $87.56 in pet fees anyway. Follow-up calls to the hotel led to more blame-shifting, rude behavior, and inconsistent explanations. My bank and Sonesta Corporate are now involved in disputing the charges. Extremely disappointing stay. Poor service, zero accountability, and unauthorized charges.

I really appreciated the Great Hospitality of the staff. They was so nice and welcoming. Kiara at the front desk was almost like family before I left. Very sweet person. They all greeted me coming and going. My tub was stopped up and they sent maintenence right on up to fix it. He even was nice. I will definitely be staying there for now own. Best Hotel stay ever..

When I arrived at your property, they could not find my reservation and thought that they had me down for the wrong arrival day. They also told me that they had billed my credit card for a room they did not have for me. I did not stay at your hotel but found another hotel. Your front desk people need a lot of work they were overwhelmed and not trained to perform the task they were assigned to perform.

We arrived at 3:30PM hoping to check in early. The lobby was full of atleast 200 people all trying to check in to there room. We patiently waited until 6PM still not able to check into our room several guest who arrived later than we did were allowed to check in there rooms before we did. My fiancé had to get ready in the lobby and dressed in the bathroom in the lobby for the Taylor swift concert. I booked this room months in advance I’ve never been to a hotel and been told you have to wait to check into your room. We had to leave our luggage in the storage room. When we returned from the concern it was just sitting the in lobby floor unattended. This whole ordeal was completely mismanaged one would expect spending $365 for one night you atleast be able to check in when you’re supposed to.

We waited in the lobby for HOURS along with many other people. By 5 pm, we had to go change and get ready for our concert in the car. I was quickly checked in by Darvonn. He was amazing and worked each day of my stay. He was helpful with what I needed to do as far as parking, checking in, and places to eat. I will definitely be back to visit and I will look for him to have more talks and laughs (when he is not busy helping other guests).

We stayed for three nights. It was a great hotel for our needs and fairly inexpensive. It’s not for people expecting a resort feel. It is definitely a basic extended stay hotel. Not a resort. Pros: The room was basic, but very clean and the bed was super comfy! Didn’t see any pests of any sort. Had everything we needed to cook with and didn’t have to buy disposable plates or anything. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was good and had quite a few options. The hotel had an awesome patio. Super close to the French quarter, and Ubers were cheap. They have a little canteen area with snacks and ice and such. Cons: the area was pretty rough. Across the street from the police station and a bus stop. Saw some drug paraphernalia scattered on the ground, and lots of people sleeping on the sidewalks. Definitely uber places after dark. And don’t go into any sketchy alleys or areas. Parking was very expensive through the hotel ($50 a night). We self parked in the garage next door for $30 or less a night. The walls are not sound proof. Our last night there we had a large group in the room next door and the music was intolerable, I let the staff know and they sorted it out. Would definitely stay again!

Firstly, for others convenience I will mention how easy the 202 airport bus is to get (it leaves zone 4B at the airport and drops you off right outside the Sonesta (Main Library). The return journey is from the shelter opposite right outside the Library. The hotel itself is ideally suited as a location, it’s less than 10 mins to the main street, Canal Street. Everything you need is there. There’s a great breakfast place around the corner called Bread & Butter. The staff at the hotel are lovely, Daryon gave us a warm welcome on arrival & made a point of saying hello everytime we passed. Our suite was huge with everything we needed. There are big bottles of hand wash, lotion, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner so there is no need to bring your own. The shower is great & the bed is very comfortable. Even though we faced the front street the soundproofing is excellent. The air con is great. We didn’t even hear any other guests. Best sleep I’ve had in years! The outside roof terrace is a fantastic area (take your own food & drink up). The communal laundry area was very handy for us before going home. Highly recommend!

For the price it is reasonable. It is a 20 minute walk from the French Quarter and the immediate neighborhood is sketchy but well patrolled by police. My biggest complaint is the breakfast buffet was inconsistent. Sometimes it felt like they cooked everything in the morning and let it sit there instead of refilling it periodically.

Well located within walking distance or easy streetcar ride of most everything. The express bus from the airport (the 202) stopped right outside. Breakfast was NOT good. Ran out of grits 2 mornings, the eggs were inedible. Staff was pleasant and they held our bags when we arrived and before we departed. This hotel is pitiful. Even though check-in time is 4:00, there were no rooms available when I tried to check in at 4:40. When I was finally given a room, it was not in the category I had reserved, and was told that it didn't matter because that's all they had. The room had serious maintenance issues, like the fact that the bedroom door had a broken latch, which caused a previous guest to have to kick the door open in order to get in. Thankfully I saw this and didn't close my door or we would have been trapped. I cannot recommend strongly enough to NOT use the Valet Parking. It is done by a third-party who may or may not bring you your vehicle in a timely manner when you try to leave. I waited an hour and a half for my car, and don't know how long it would have taken if the hotel manager didn't get involved. When I wanted to speak with the manager about the Valet Problems the front desk employee rolled their eyes and gave me multiple different stories. First he said the manager didn't work on Mondays, then an hour later he said the manager knew about the problems and wouldn't do anything. When I STRONGLY explained to the young man that the manager obviously DIDN'T know about the problem or they would be there talking to me, the hotel manager appeared within three minutes. Amazing, since I han been told she didn't work on Mondays. I received $100 off my room charges for all the problems, but I can't recommend this hotel the New Orleans.

I waited an hour and a half for my car, and don't know how long it would have taken if the hotel manager didn't get involved. When I wanted to speak with the manager about the Valet Problems the front desk employee rolled their eyes and gave me multiple different stories. First he said the manager didn't work on Mondays, then an hour later he said the manager knew about the problems and wouldn't do anything. When I STRONGLY explained to the young man that the manager obviously DIDN'T know about the problem or they would be there talking to me, the hotel manager appeared within three minutes. Amazing, since I han been told she didn't work on Mondays. I received $100 off my room charges for all the problems, but I can't recommend this hotel the New Orleans.

It wasn't a bad stay. The toilet wouldn't flush very well and the sink. And the kitchen kept dripping.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. Also the security that they have to make sure you are safe is very good. Definitely will be back.

Location from everything was ok little bit of a walk but not bad. Hotel needs updating, no ice machines rooms have a fridge with ice maker but mine didn’t work. Staff was amazing!! Breakfast was ok, nice amenity. Walls very thin.
