Veterans Park Hotel

When I arrived I was told that it was significantly more than the listing said. I had already paid the booking fee and then they demanded cash when I arrived. Ended up paying about 2.5 times what the listing said. Extremely dishonest, highly recommend staying far away.

The property looked newly renovated and our room was clean and comfortable.

Weirdest hotel i have ever stayed at. When GPS told me i had arrived, i couldnt even find the hotel. Its like an old apartment building that has been remodeled. No signage. Nothing to draw your attention that this is the place you need to be. Had to call to get in. Man answers the phone and says hell be there in 15 to open t.he door !?!? I misswd the fine print on how to check in. There is no onsite manager. No onsite house keeping. Room was clean, but there wasnt any tissues and no toilet paper holder. Just a roll of TP on the back of the toilet. There wasnt any shampoo or condition.... well there was an open bottle of head and shoulders in the shower... The shower gell they provided had gunk all over the tubes. No way to change the temperature of the room- no thermostat was in the room. It was hotter than Hades! On top of that, i was charged way more money than what i reserved the room for online! It should be interesting trying to get my money back. I have another trip to Detroit in April. I was going to stay here then. But i quickly canceled that reservation. Never again!

Didn’t like that there was no key just a combination. Charge was 40 dollars more than the reservation.

Room was great. However, I was charged a higher rate than advertised, and have not head back from Expedia nor the hotel about this.
