Had a great stay. Breakfast was great and the one meal we had was delicious. I'm a coeliac and they were very helpful. Had a delicious icecream sundae for pudding. The staff were amazing .Kieran and all the girls were lovely. We've stayed a few years and have noticed room's have gone a bit tired and bathroom needs regrouting . But a lovely stay as always. Can't say enough how great the staff are.

Lovely B&B and restaurant, bar just 4 miles south of Norwich. Ideal for visiting surrounding areas and the city. Great breakfast, huge choices, juice and coffee.

Very comfortable room and bed over a restaurant about 7 miles outside Norwich. Great hot breakfast and the dinner we had (not included in the room rate) was very satiffactory. Very friendly staff.

We've stayed in many B&B's in Norwich but this one was certainly one of the best.Accomodation was spotlessly clean ,bed was so comfortable,very impressed as I have back issues so find most beds uncomfortable.Breakfast ,such a choice available and it tasted delicious too.We ate in the restaurant in the evening too and couldn't fault the food.We will stay again ,without any doubt .

Warm welcome, plenty of free parking, lovely dinner, the food was delicious. Room was warm on arrival which was nice. Bed was comfy and clean. But there were a few negatives, which being £85 a night you can’t just ignore. Couldn’t seem to use the TV’s smart features like connecting a iPhone to YouTube as WiFi on the TV wasn’t working. Water in the bathroom comes out warm, even from the cold tap. If left for 15-20 mins it comes out coldish. There is a fridge with water provided, but was tap water in a glass jar where the stopped looked grimey. Sink had a chip taken out of it, and the extractor fan above the sink was chock full of dust which falls on you periodically. Shower was clean, but had black mould which seems to have been gone over with sealant rather than removing it and improving extraction. Soundproofing wasn’t good, could hear one room’s TV & another’s phone conversation. Plus road noise, earplugs would be welcome. Would have liked a chair and table to work at, but I’m sure they would have let me have a table in the restaurant if I’d have asked. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, overall not a bad stay. Lots of redeeming qualities and would be tempted to return just for the food alone. I just hope they can work on some of the things letting the stay down.

Very pleasant, well presented property. Rooms were spotless, staff friendly and breakfast excellent. The only downside was the hotel’s proximity to the very busy main road however the double glazing and air conditioning goes some way to dampen down the noise together with the very reasonable room rate. Booked the day before arrival and very pleasantly surprised. Thanks for a great stay

The Sugarbeat B&B is a great home from home, staff, food and service is top notch! Our room ‘Manilow’ was ok but noisy in the morning from 0700 with extractor fans for kitchens, plus doesn’t go off until 1100. The room low roof made it very difficult to relax, plus only one chair to watch tv or have a coffee in room. Cleanliness could be a little bit better with some stains and marks on furniture. Overall an excellent place and have booked again for April.

Lovely accommodation. Our twin room "Jackson" was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. Lovely en suite with fluffy white towels. Well stocked tea tray with fresh milk and chilled water in the fridge. The food was amazing. Had a main meal on first night and breakfasts throughout our stay, all were very good. Lastly, but just as importantly was the staff. They were all so polite, welcoming, and friendly. Just a note that the four rooms are upstairs. About 12 stairs, so if you have mobility issues you need to bare this in mind.

We arrived later than planned and called ahead - this wasn't a problem. Room was clean, shower hot with great pressure, bed super comfy and breakfast was delicious (we'll definitely be back to dine for lunch or dinner!). Place is wonderfully done throughout and staff all kind and approachable. We could hear loud snoaring from the adjacent room (nothing some white noise can't drown out on our phones!) but we appreciate it's part of staying in an old characterful property. Great value for money and would absolutely stay again.

The food was some of the best we have ever eaten - delicious and freshly made. The room however was disappointing- clearly see some improvements but masking tape around the towel rail - holes in the wall in bathroom and bathroom door handle broken - cleanliness could have been better - toilet lid and seat had dirt in it and the ledge under the towel rail was full of dust and hairs - towels provided had stains on and holes in them - can’t complain regards to staff and service and the food all brilliant just the room let us down at £185 for 2 nights

Sugar beat eating house excellent couldn't fault anything, stayed overnight the room was wonderful, nice and clean, tea/coffee facility, air conditioning. We didn't hear any noise from the establishment downstairs very quiet. We had an evening meal and breakfast compliments to the chef. We will stay again in the future. The staff very polite and helpful. Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

The room was pretty decent however the main issue was the noise from the road. It’s really strange how they have done nothing about it, I’ve stayed in other roadside hotels and there’s been secondary double glazing to keep the noise out and it works. Also the curtains were terrible so when you inevitably got woken up by the traffic noise the room was flooded with early morning light so there was no way you were hearing back to sleep. Hoped breakfast would make up for it, as it was included in the rate and you could choose anything from their menu. However, we ended up waiting about 40 mins for the food to arrive and it wasn’t really worth it. Sorry but that’s really unacceptable for a hotel. People want to start their days quickly. Also I was given my fruit juice in a filthy glass.

Very tasty breakfast and evening meal. Our room was at the front, it was noisy from the cars, as not used to the noise but got quiet during the night. It was lovely they gave us some more water & left it in the fridge. Staff very friendly

Although not on the menu they assembled a lovely vegan cooked breakfast for me. Staff were lovely and helpful. Bed was really very comfy. The only thing I'd like different was the room was too warm, even though it was -5 outside and we had the window open and the heating off
Although not on the menu they assembled a lovely vegan cooked breakfast for me. Staff were lovely and helpful. Bed was really very comfy. The only thing I'd like different was the room was too warm, even though it was -5 outside and we had the window open and the heating off

Unfortunately this was my 3rd stay and was not good compared to my previous stays, there was a lot of noise from the room above, I believe staff accommodation twice I asked for if it could be sorted and it wasn't. The A/C then stopped working meaning I had to sleep with the window open and try to sleep with the constant road noise.

Warm welcome, plenty of free parking, lovely dinner, the food was delicious. Room was warm on arrival which was nice. Bed was comfy and clean. But there were a few negatives, which being £85 a night you can’t just ignore. Couldn’t seem to use the TV’s smart features like connecting a iPhone to YouTube as WiFi on the TV wasn’t working. Water in the bathroom comes out warm, even from the cold tap. If left for 15-20 mins it comes out coldish. There is a fridge with water provided, but was tap water in a glass jar where the stopped looked grimey. Sink had a chip taken out of it, and the extractor fan above the sink was chock full of dust which falls on you periodically. Shower was clean, but had black mould which seems to have been gone over with sealant rather than removing it and improving extraction. Soundproofing wasn’t good, could hear one room’s TV & another’s phone conversation. Plus road noise, earplugs would be welcome. Would have liked a chair and table to work at, but I’m sure they would have let me have a table in the restaurant if I’d have asked. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, overall not a bad stay. Lots of redeeming qualities and would be tempted to return just for the food alone. I just hope they can work on some of the things letting the stay down.

Had a great stay. Breakfast was great and the one meal we had was delicious. I'm a coeliac and they were very helpful. Had a delicious icecream sundae for pudding. The staff were amazing .Kieran and all the girls were lovely. We've stayed a few years and have noticed room's have gone a bit tired and bathroom needs regrouting . But a lovely stay as always. Can't say enough how great the staff are.

We arrived later than planned and called ahead - this wasn't a problem. Room was clean, shower hot with great pressure, bed super comfy and breakfast was delicious (we'll definitely be back to dine for lunch or dinner!). Place is wonderfully done throughout and staff all kind and approachable. We could hear loud snoaring from the adjacent room (nothing some white noise can't drown out on our phones!) but we appreciate it's part of staying in an old characterful property. Great value for money and would absolutely stay again.

Sugar beat eating house excellent couldn't fault anything, stayed overnight the room was wonderful, nice and clean, tea/coffee facility, air conditioning. We didn't hear any noise from the establishment downstairs very quiet. We had an evening meal and breakfast compliments to the chef. We will stay again in the future. The staff very polite and helpful. Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

The room was pretty decent however the main issue was the noise from the road. It’s really strange how they have done nothing about it, I’ve stayed in other roadside hotels and there’s been secondary double glazing to keep the noise out and it works. Also the curtains were terrible so when you inevitably got woken up by the traffic noise the room was flooded with early morning light so there was no way you were hearing back to sleep. Hoped breakfast would make up for it, as it was included in the rate and you could choose anything from their menu. However, we ended up waiting about 40 mins for the food to arrive and it wasn’t really worth it. Sorry but that’s really unacceptable for a hotel. People want to start their days quickly. Also I was given my fruit juice in a filthy glass.

Very pleasant, well presented property. Rooms were spotless, staff friendly and breakfast excellent. The only downside was the hotel’s proximity to the very busy main road however the double glazing and air conditioning goes some way to dampen down the noise together with the very reasonable room rate. Booked the day before arrival and very pleasantly surprised. Thanks for a great stay

We really enjoyed our stay - staff were very friendly, room was comfortable and having a fridge and fresh milk was a nice touch. The breakfast was fantastic, as was our evening meal. There is quite a bit of traffic noise from the road but the windows blocked it out well.

Not great for the business traveler. Breakfast not served until 09:00 isn’t workable when you have meetings to go to. Also worth noting that it is next to a busy road that gets noisy quite early. Service was ok, food was ok, no toilet paper in the room, when fed back was told there was a new cleaner.

We stayed for one night, we could not fault a thing, the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble, beautiful and clean throughout, we had an evening meal which was absolutely amazing, such reasonable a reasonable price, and the portions were huge! We stayed in the Bolton room which was very clean and comfortable, there was plenty of tea and coffee,and some lovely toiletries to ise too, luxury towels and bedding too. Breakfast was fantastic, good quality sausages and bacon, very tasty, and also a huge portion. Overall though its the staff that made it such an enjoyable and comfortable stay.would highly recommend a stay here, we will definitely be back.

The room was at the back overlooking a huge extractor fan and all of the rubbish facilities which wasn’t great. We were warned about the fan being noisy but it was worse than we expected. One member of staff said they try not to use that room if at all possible - which rather corroborates my comments. There was a constant clicking sound outside the bedroom window which was loud enough to cause disturbed sleep. The beds were clean and reasonably comfy and the bathroom was nice apart from the sloping roof - we kept bumping our heads! Nice big towels provided too. It was really useful having a fridge in the room and fresh milk/water supplied for drinks. The breakfast was nice and the cooked breakfast was nicely done. There was plenty of parking available and the staff were all kind.

I was told it had been booked, but don't think there was anyone else staying there that night. The TV is on a low bench, so you can't really see it from the bed, the fridge is on the floor (fine if you're ok on your hands and knees) and the plug in the shower was partially blocked (so you got a foot bath). The room I was given also had the kitchen extractor right outside the window. It quietened down after about 10pm... (but was still sufficiently noisy for me to need the window closed). For information, breakfast is included and very nice, but.... only served from 9am onwards, so not ideal if you are working locally and need to crack on....
