Had a lovely stay in one of the Pods. Nice breakfast and meals in the hotel. Knocked a star off as the EV Charger kept stopping so we didnt get a full charge.

Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about. Stayed here to go to scafell pike which was around 25 minutes drive away. Also a beach around 10 minutes drive away. Hotel has a large car park, great outdoor space to sit as well. Only down side was we went to pool room and it was locked, got the staff to open it and got change for the table from the bar. Just as we were going to start playing noticed one cue was broken in half and the other the tip was missing. Dart board not in the best condition. So we left the room. Breakfast was great and served large portions, only down side was the next day tried the pancakes and those were only two litter ones you get. Also the food came out really fast once ordered. Overall great experience and would recommend to others. Nice, clean and friendly happy staff.

We were made welcome. The room was comfortable. Plenty of USB sockets for overnight charging. Plenty of good parking. WiFi worked well.

I recently stayed at this hotel in the Lake District with my family for five nights. Our main goal was to climb Scafell Pike, and this hotel stood out as the nearest option within my price range. The location was peaceful and quiet, the car park was large and well-planned, and the room exceeded my expectations—it was far more spacious than any hotel room I’ve stayed in before. The staff were warm, humble, and genuinely welcoming, which added to the experience. Breakfast was included in the price and was a real highlight. Instead of a standard buffet, you order from a menu (available online), and the food is freshly prepared for you. There were plenty of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices, which I thought was excellent. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The only small drawbacks were that the sofa bed was only a single (despite there being enough room for a double), and the showerhead over the bathtub was fixed. The location was very convenient—just a 25-minute drive to Scafell Pike and about 40 minutes to the west coast, where towns like Whitehaven and Workington offer plenty of restaurants (including McDonald’s, KFC, and Domino’s for budget options), as well as major supermarkets like Morrisons, ASDA, and Tesco. Really lovely stay and great with the dog, free treats for them in the bar. Food was really great too and they offer gluten free options at breakfast which was delicious. Great location a short drive to the lakes and a supermarket within walking distance.

I stayed in the cabin and it was nice and cozy, the walk to breakfast was super short and easy though so I didn’t feel like I was out of place compared to being in the hotel room. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of options, delicious and a chill atmosphere. The cabin itself was gorgeous, overlooking the mountains and inside was a cozy space. Although it was small, it’s the perfect size for me and my partner. Bathroom was really clean and the shower was great. We had a small fridge and freezer to put what we needed in and the tv worked well when used. The staff were nice and accommodating, generally calm and chill which was nice. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to stay if you want to climb Scafell and see what the area has to offer, it was only a 20 minute drive to Scafell as well so a great location.

This place was awesome and would highly recommend it. They accommodated a room suitable for my mother and pulled a fold out bed for me as our original room was on the first floor. Room was spotless and the breakfast was a good size and lovely. Main meals we had in the bar seating area has we had our dog with us. Both main meals were a good size a lovely. The steak sour dough bread meal was amazing and the fish and chips was also lovely. Hard to believe this place is only 3 stars.

Stayed in one of the cabins - compact but spotless, warm (in January!) and comfortable - only very slight problem was the heating control which is a tad over complicated but did not in any way detract from our stay....own transport essential...fantastic location...food great and a great, welcoming staff team.

The ceiling was leaking in our bathroom and radiator in bathroom was faulty and constantly red hot!! When I went for a shower the hotel had run out of hot water so I had to wait half hour. Apart from that the room and bed were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Overall staying is good, heating was off during the night, there isn't any sufficient soundproofing and you could hear noises/tanks from corridor, wash hand basin and self was very close and you every time you wanted to wash your face the water spilled on the floor. Staff is very friendly, food variety and very good quality!

Stayed in one of the cabins - compact but spotless, warm (in January!) and comfortable - only very slight problem was the heating control which is a tad over complicated but did not in any way detract from our stay....own transport essential...fantastic location...food great and a great, welcoming staff team.

The ceiling was leaking in our bathroom and radiator in bathroom was faulty and constantly red hot!! When I went for a shower the hotel had run out of hot water so I had to wait half hour. Apart from that the room and bed were clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Lovely area with spectacular views and places to visit. Pleasant staff and comfortable hotel. I had a gluten free meal which was excellent. Room nice but rather small and cramped with big furniture. Ideal place to get to Muncaster castle, ravenglass and much beauty!

We have booked twin rooms, however ended up with double and sofa bed in both rooms which was not ideal as we were hiking early next morning and aofa beds were not comfortable at all. Staff was helpful hower they all looked like they are not really enjoying what they do..

Excellent two night stay,food was really good & dog friendly.Only had 1 issue but it was dealt with straight away.Nice relaxing break,would definitely book again.

Hsd a fantastic overnight stay. Phil and the team could not have been more welcoming and this is easily the most dog friendly accommodation in the Lakes, maybe even UK. We will 100% be back in 2024

Disappointing. I treated myself to this hotel rather than going to a Premier Inn. I wish I hadn't bothered. Arrived at the hotel and followed the signs to the accommodation, then had to walk through the dining room to try & find check-in. Some signage could help with this. The hotel manager was clearly busy and made me feel like an inconvenience. He sped through the check-in process which wasn't very welcoming. The room was lovely, although the view out to a yard with bins wasn't great. I was woken at 7.50am by housekeeping banging on my door and trying to get in my room. There's a key drop, so it would make more sense to me to clean the rooms when people have clearly checked out. I went to breakfast, no staff seen. The menu said to help myself to cereal and coffee, which I did, although the coffee was empty. A staff member appeared and was a bit rude about me helping myself to cereal. He was also clearly put out that I wanted a cooked breakfast. I couldn't bring myself to mention the empty cafetiere. This was not noticed for the 30 minutes I was in the dining room. The same staff member proceeded to have a conversation with other guests about how inconvenient it is that guests dont check out until 11am (the check-out time) at the weekend, which doesn't leave them enough time to clean rooms before the next guests arrive. Clearly they need to hire more staff, ideally ones better suited to a customer-facing role.

Hotel was amazing. Food was first class an amazing chef.Phil the barman was 10 out of 10. Richard the owner made us so welcome and even bought us a drink to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. And very dog friendly would definitely recommend.

Had booked a deluxe room for more room but when we arrived we were allocated a standard room. I went to reception to change our room and they said they did not have any deluxe rooms left and that it was Expedia who shouldn’t have let me book this type of room. I asked for a refund but they said no, so I asked for a meal that evening on the house as I’d paid extra for this room and we hadn’t go it, they said no. Didn’t want to give us anything. 2 terrible nights of sleep with uncomfortable beds and people slamming doors early in the morning. Food was average. Wouldn’t stay again.

This place was awesome and would highly recommend it. They accommodated a room suitable for my mother and pulled a fold out bed for me as our original room was on the first floor. Room was spotless and the breakfast was a good size and lovely. Main meals we had in the bar seating area has we had our dog with us. Both main meals were a good size a lovely. The steak sour dough bread meal was amazing and the fish and chips was also lovely. Hard to believe this place is only 3 stars.

Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about. Stayed here to go to scafell pike which was around 25 minutes drive away. Also a beach around 10 minutes drive away. Hotel has a large car park, great outdoor space to sit as well. Only down side was we went to pool room and it was locked, got the staff to open it and got change for the table from the bar. Just as we were going to start playing noticed one cue was broken in half and the other the tip was missing. Dart board not in the best condition. So we left the room. Breakfast was great and served large portions, only down side was the next day tried the pancakes and those were only two litter ones you get. Also the food came out really fast once ordered. Overall great experience and would recommend to others. Nice, clean and friendly happy staff.

Stayed in a cosy room, which was ample size for us both. Lovely & warm. Dog friendly & they allowed us to have breakfast in the bar. Breakfast was delicious & lots of choices. Very close to many lovely walks.

I stayed in the cabin and it was nice and cozy, the walk to breakfast was super short and easy though so I didn’t feel like I was out of place compared to being in the hotel room. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of options, delicious and a chill atmosphere. The cabin itself was gorgeous, overlooking the mountains and inside was a cozy space. Although it was small, it’s the perfect size for me and my partner. Bathroom was really clean and the shower was great. We had a small fridge and freezer to put what we needed in and the tv worked well when used. The staff were nice and accommodating, generally calm and chill which was nice. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to stay if you want to climb Scafell and see what the area has to offer, it was only a 20 minute drive to Scafell as well so a great location.

Really lovely stay and great with the dog, free treats for them in the bar. Food was really great too and they offer gluten free options at breakfast which was delicious. Great location a short drive to the lakes and a supermarket within walking distance.

Overall staying is good, heating was off during the night, there isn't any sufficient soundproofing and you could hear noises/tanks from corridor, wash hand basin and self was very close and you every time you wanted to wash your face the water spilled on the floor. Staff is very friendly, food variety and very good quality!

The property was very good. Fantastic views of scafell pike and surrounding area. We stayed in a pod and was surprised at how big and comfortable it was. The dining facilities were excellent. Great choice and ample serving..also the dinner menu available was very good and dined there every night due to the excellent choice and portions. There were plenty of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices, which I thought was excellent. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The only small drawbacks were that the sofa bed was only a single (despite there being enough room for a double), and the showerhead over the bathtub was fixed. The location was very convenient—just a 25-minute drive to Scafell Pike and about 40 minutes to the west coast, where towns like Whitehaven and Workington offer plenty of restaurants (including McDonald’s, KFC, and Domino’s for budget options), as well as major supermarkets like Morrisons, ASDA, and Tesco. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would happily return. Highly recommended.

Had booked a deluxe room for more room but when we arrived we were allocated a standard room. I went to reception to change our room and they said they did not have any deluxe rooms left and that it was Expedia who shouldn’t have let me book this type of room. I asked for a refund but they said no, so I asked for a meal that evening on the house as I’d paid extra for this room and we hadn’t go it, they said no. Didn’t want to give us anything. 2 terrible nights of sleep with uncomfortable beds and people slamming doors early in the morning. Food was average. Wouldn’t stay again.

Really lovely stay and great with the dog, free treats for them in the bar. Food was really great too and they offer gluten free options at breakfast which was delicious. Great location a short drive to the lakes and a supermarket within walking distance.

I had a Comfort Room for my one night stay. The room is small-ish but perfectly adequate for one or two people for a few nights. There is some hanging space, and worktops/bedside tables, and good lighting. Heating was excellent and is controlled through your phone using a QR code link.The bathroom has bath and shower and a nicely illuminated mirror. Food, both dinner and breakfast were very good too. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a very good stay, and a hotel I would certainly use again.
