Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Downtown/Civic Center

The hotel stay was good and staff was friendly. Only issue I had which is my fault for not looking cause it does have that in the details on hotels.com, is that I had to pay $11 for parking. My issue is they price gouge for the room because of the concert we were going to but then realizing I also had to pay for parking. I have never paid for hotel parking in my life except once cause they had limited parking, you may have to park in a parking garage but you just brought ticket to front desk and they validated it for you so no charge.

Disappointed.

Pay to park not great amenities

First of all, hotels.com website lists in the amenities that there is free parking. One of the reasons I booked the room. There isn’t free parking. Second, the room had a drain stopped up that I had to report several times and get worked on several times to finally get it fixed. The manager wasn’t helpful at all about the free parking question. Basically told me it wasn’t his problem and to contact hotels.com. They can honor the reservation but not the rest of the amenities listed in said ad. This will be the last time I book that hotel and probably be the last time I use hotels.com since their ad listed it wrong and cost me even more money. My cousin booked through hotels.com and got a bigger, nicer room a lot cheaper. That’s still a head scratcher
