Upon arrival we parked our car and noticed someone smoking on a deck on the property. Non smoking facility was one of the reasons we chose this Inn. No pets allowed being another. At check in we were taken to the rear of the property totally removed from the Inn, to the Lavendsr Suite. No information when booking was stated the room was not in the Inn. The area around this room was dirty,unkept and no lighting or poor lighting. The front porch was filthy. The room itself when entering smelled of must,mold, cigarettes and some sort of air freshener , I guess trying to cover up the smells, it was overpowering. The room was hot ,the thermostat was on 68. There was a pack of camel cigarettes on the table of the back porch or deck just outside of the bed. Dusty, dirty worn out carpet, peeling chipped paint and cracked walls. Doors were not sealed could see day light between and under them. At some point we seen in a question about service animals allowed here. The answer was that service animals were accomodated in the Lavendar Suite which is where we were put. Very disappointed, we informed the host we would not stay in the room provided. No other room was offered. We requested a refund and was told we had to contact the owner! No information on how to do this was given. We drove back home to Indiana , a 4 hour drive rather than stay in that nasty room.

It’s a wonderful historical property with lots of charm. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is more than the average hotel breakfast being served individually. The room was clean and had everything I needed. It even had a shared balcony.

Great check in, comfortable room, safe parking right next to mansion. I left very early in the morning so didn't have breakfast but enjoyed my stay and recommend!

We loved our stay here! The room was clean and quaint. We stayed in the Dahlia room and it looks just like it did originally. We went out to dinner, and came back to fresh baked cookies outside our door. In the morning, we had an amazing free breakfast that was hot and fresh. It was scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, muffins and roasted potatoes. Highly recommend, and if we’re ever in the area, we will stay here again.
