Absolutely lovely B & B! John and Pablo made us feel so welcome and also offered us a welcome drink in the garden. They cooked us a very tasty English breakfast, gave us a delicious fresh fruit salad and as much tea, coffee and toast as we wanted. The house is beautiful and our room was clean, spacious, comfortable and overlooked the beautiful garden. We would happily stay here again.

Pablo and John very friendly and attentive. Beautiful room, warm and cosy, comfortable bed, massive immaculate bathroom with gorgeous stain glass window. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Fantastic service all round. Wished we could have stayed longer to appreciate it’s splendour. Looking to return in the summer to enjoy the gorgeous garden area.

Absolutely loved it, wonderful welcome extremely hospitable. The bathroom was amazing with a rolled top back. The hosts were superb couldnt have asked for more. Highly recommend a stay there we would definitely return. Beautiful gardens and lush gooseberry jam. We loved it guys Nita and Rob

We needed a stop on a cross country trip, and found this little gem. A lovely listed Georgian house with a very nice garden. The owner was very welcoming, the room was lovely and the breakfast delicious! We'll certainly go again.

Only a brief overnight stay for an event on Saturday. I felt very welcome and very well looked after. Excellent breakfast in the beautiful garden. It’s my first time in Newark but I’m tempted to come back just to stay here again. Spacious room, excellent facilities and lovely hosts.

We had a great overnight stay at The Lions and John & Pablo were excellent hosts and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The room was spotless; the bed incredibly comfortable and the full English breakfast was superb. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Newark and a big thanks again to our hosts for making it such a pleasurable experience.

Fantastic stay at The Lion. Hosts where magnificent...helped us with taxis and check-in logistics as we were attending a wedding in Kelham. Rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast was brilliant. Cannot praise them enough!

John and Pablo were so hospitable, it made our overnight stay in their beautiful property memorable. Both our bedroom and ensuite were lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Location wise, it was perfect for easy walking into Newark and we had a good evening meal at Oscar's Inn just a 3 minute walk from the property. We had a superb breakfast which was cooked to order and were offered as many refills of our teapot as we wanted. We highly recommend a stay at The Lions. Thank you John and Pablo for looking after us so well.

This was a perfect place to stop in Newark. The owners welcome you so warmly and you feel like you are family whilst there. The room was so lovely and the bath was wonderful. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the homemade marmalade was excellent. We certainly will go back there again.

Wonderful little B&B run by John and Pablo. Beautiful room, huge bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Great breakfast and excellent hospitality. Short walk into Newark Town. Remains of the old castle on the river are worth a visit. Lovely river walk.

The Lions is amazing its ran by 2 amazing guys their customer service is 2nd to none the place is clean and retains some of the original features which only adds to the charm the beds are so comfortable and the breakfast is one of the best ive ever had

From the moment we arrived and the welcome we received until our departure; John and Pablo were perfect hosts.Their attention to detail is exceptional. They have the most beautiful and tasteful home which is a privilege to experience. We enjoyed a most delicious breakfast before leaving for our onward journey . Fantastic stay at The Lion. Hosts where magnificent...helped us with taxis and check-in logistics as we were attending a wedding in Kelham. Rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast was brilliant. Cannot praise them enough!

The Lions is amazing its ran by 2 amazing guys their customer service is 2nd to none the place is clean and retains some of the original features which only adds to the charm the beds are so comfortable and the breakfast is one of the best ive ever had

John and Pablo were so hospitable, it made our overnight stay in their beautiful property memorable. Both our bedroom and ensuite were lovely, spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Location wise, it was perfect for easy walking into Newark and we had a good evening meal at Oscar's Inn just a 3 minute walk from the property. We had a superb breakfast which was cooked to order and were offered as many refills of our teapot as we wanted. We highly recommend a stay at The Lions. Thank you John and Pablo for looking after us so well.

We had such a wonderful welcome from Pablo and John and the service could not have been better. Great location only a few minutes walk to centre, lovely comfortable room and great breakfast. We would thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely be back if ever in the area.

Wonderful little B&B run by John and Pablo. Beautiful room, huge bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Great breakfast and excellent hospitality. Short walk into Newark Town. Remains of the old castle on the river are worth a visit. Lovely river walk.

Absolutely lovely B & B! John and Pablo made us feel so welcome and also offered us a welcome drink in the garden. They cooked us a very tasty English breakfast, gave us a delicious fresh fruit salad and as much tea, coffee and toast as we wanted. The house is beautiful and our room was clean, spacious, comfortable and overlooked the beautiful garden. We would happily stay here again.

Lovely warm and clean room. Comfortable bed. Pablo and John were excellent host nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was made with quality produce and tasted superb. Pablo's home made jams were a special and unexpected treat.

Me and my wife had a wonderful stop over at the Lions. The accommodation is beautiful,with many original features maintained in the decor. The rooms were clean and tidy with lots of charm.John and Pablo were perfect hosts,being kind,welcoming and very helpful.Breakfast was lovely and some nice options on the menu.I had a traditional breakfast,and my wife having scrambled egg and salmon. Both were cooked and presented really well and were delicious! Will be returning in the summer to enjoy the delightful cottage garden in the back in full bloom!

The Lions was truly wonderful. Pablo was so incredibly helpful and attentive. We stayed one night before visiting an antique fair very early the next day. We had a beautiful room a fabulous breakfast in incredibly lovely surroundings. Everything was perfect.

Pablo met us upon arrival and was so friendly. The twin room was well appointed and large with comfortable beds and a great shower. Our breakfast was delicious in a beautiful room with views into the lovely garden. I particularly enjoyed the homemade plum jam. We had a very early start on our first morning so Pablo made us rolls up with a fruit salad and bananas which was very much appreciated. A lovely 2 night stay.

John and Pablo are fantastic hosts! Could t do enough for me when I stayed last week for 1 night. Room was very nice - clean and lovely furniture. The house overall is lovely and they have a great garden too - I sat out there eating my dinner and it was great. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had staying away from home - and I stay away quite often. I would definitely recommend and will be back when I’m around Newark again! 🙏

It's a beautiful property, decorated perfectly. Both of the hosts were lovely, with a very warm welcome on arrival. Breakfast was served on the patio in the sun and was really tasty. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
