To start with I booked a 2 bed room on the first floor but when I got there they put us in the second floor and had no other rooms available. It was very difficult for two older women to navigate. The TV remote didn't work. There was no hot water until the desk clerk said to run the water for about 10 minutes until you got hot water. But the worst part was nobody warned you that there were trains running right in the back yard. It shook everything including the walls! The tracks looked like about 30' away. It was awful all night long!

We arrived early in the day so went driving to explore the area. Front desk staff called us to say the room was ready if we wanted to check in early. Very convenient location for walking to everything plus the beach. Large fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee maker (but no coffee cups or mugs). Unfortunately, we were unaware that the Pier closed on Labor Day. We had hoped to experience that area again as we honeymooned here at Old Orchard 52 years ago. But the friendly people, shopping, and restaurants were terrific.

The hotel was a one and done experience. The room was disgusting. Every surface needs a cleaning. Baseboard heaters are falling apart. Peeling shower surface, damaged ceiling tiles. Bedbugs and dirty linen. Parking is a nightmare. No amenities offered outside of the pool. Our room was in the back corner on the second floor and there is no emergency exit in case of fire. The steer noise and trains all night long make it impossible to sleep.

Good points: location, nice staff, AC, fridge , microwave and our room, # 4, was on the main floor and had a heart shaped jacuzzi tub in the bathroom as well as a stand up shower. Bad points: bed wasn't comfortable, floors could have been cleaner, toilet was very low to the floor. The hot tub next to the sauna looked very dirty. I didn't dare go in it. Parking was a little tight. It should have been nicer for $674 for 2 nights, in my opinion.
