An ancient pub with fantastic bedrooms. Easy parking, excellent range of beers in the bar, great staff, clean and well looked after room. No restaurant at the pub but a fantastic breakfast basket in the room. Really nice place. Thoroughly recommended

Lovely old property and nice quaint village. Breakfast hamper was good. Unfortunately the hot water didn't work in our room despite flagging it with the staff. No staff on site in the mornings to speak to either. Also, they have loud music in the evenings until 11pm/midnight - which isn't specified in their listing, and they only tell you by email after youve checked in. Its a shame really - nice property but let down by a few serious shortcomings.

We were only there for 2 nights but everywhere was really clean and fresh. We were made very welcome and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The garden/outside seating area was also well kept. It is obviously a locals pub and everyone we spoke to was very friendly.

Room was really neat and tidy - Continental breakfast provided in the room. Evening meal food was good - beer quality was not (Timothy Taylors Landlord pint was grim). Only one person serving at bar and she had to service whole pub and take and distribute food orders. Clearly just refurbished and just needs bedding in to be really good B&B pub.

Loved this place! So idyllic. We spent the evening sitting by the fire, drinking, chatting to locals and cuddling puppies. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Room was big, super comfortable bed and the bathroom very nice too. The breakfast hamper was a lovely gesture. Being right next to the village church meant hearing the church bells Sunday morning and I am pretty sure those are the loveliest church bells I ever did hear. PERFECT STAY!

The Woolpack is simply the best Inn that I’ve stayed at. Gorgeous building (complete with ghost?). Staff that are genuinely friendly, a pub packed with locals that must be the friendliest in the Country. I was lucky to be there for Thursday night karaoke… honestly I’ve arranged my diary to be there on Thursdays. If you like an authentic pub, great food, superbly comfortable accommodation and a strong community spirit.. (and maybe a ghostly nun).. then this is the best place to stay!

BOOK WITH CAUTION! The property is nice, and the staff on site were welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, the pub does Karaoke (and didn't warn us in advance), and it was so noisy we couldn't even hold a conversation in our room, never mind sleep. The staff tried to be helpful on site but nothing could be done, so we didn't end up staying and went home instead. When we tried to raise the issue with the owner, they were very difficult to get hold of and refused to give the refund we were entitled to. Expedia eventually resolved the issue and gave the refund.

This Inn has the best rooms we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot!! This is our 2nd stay. Everything is of the best quality, the beds are super comfortable, with luxury linen. The bathrooms are immaculately clean, and the water is always pipping hot. They do not provide a cooked breakfast, but a hamper is in the room with a choice of goodies so you can have breakfast in bed. There is real milk orange jucie, fruit and water in the fridge. There is also a tassimo coffee machine, as well as the usual kettle. They do serve evening dinners, of pub grub, which was lovely pipping hot and a reasonble cost. They do warn that there may be music on some nights, but that has not bothered us. The staff and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Don't hesitate stay here!!!

Terrific stay, lovely room with a fantastic view from patio. Great breakfast baskets which included all sort of quality goodies. Only negative was no food available in the evening midweek. Overall fantastic place to stay.

Absolutely amazing! The staff were fabulous, and so friendly, and very accommodating. Thank you so much Rosie and colleagues. Our rooms were immaculately clean with lovely bathrooms, and a picnic breakfast basket. I highly recommend this beautiful pub/ hotel.

I stayed at the Woolpack for a long weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better or ore friendly place to stay! The rooms was immaculate and had everything you could want or need, the breakfast hamper is such a nice touch and already included in the price. The staff all made me feel so welcome, a good funny bunch that went above and beyond. The atmosphere was even better with the live band in the bar Saturday night, having a good dance to some real music. Would 100% stay again!

The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfy. We very much appreciated the unexpected breakfast hamper that was provided. The pub food was disappointing, we would stay overnight again but would eat somewhere else.

I had a really nice stay at The WoolPack Inn. I liked the way the room was decorated and it was lovely and clean. Daily housekeeping too which was great. Staff were really friendly and happy to help. Only small downside was that the room was pretty small - no wardrobe (just some hangers on some pegs)/vanity area. However, this didn't affect my stay. The tea tray/mini fridge was well stocked with everything you'd need! There is very little sound proofing so it can be noisy - however when I stayed the nights were pretty quiet.

The room was very small (size of room is not included on details). There was nowhere for our bag other than the floor, space was limited. 2 bedside tables & coat hooks with coat hangers on. There was a broken bedside lamp, the toilet seat was loose & wonky, the bedknob kept falling off at the slightest touch, the Wi-Fi wasn't working on Sun morning. Other guests were in the bar til 1.30am, the noise travels quite considerably & when they went to bed at 1.30am, one of the men shouted, "Is anyone awake"- well we were! We were disappointed with the room for the price we paid, you expect better for over £170 a night (only £80 for the same room on the following Fri). We booked it as it had 10/10 good reviews, those people must've been in the huge bedrooms and not ours.

From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome by not only the staff but by the locals and were made to feel at home Our room “Dedham”was amazing,very clean and modern but still in keeping with the period of the pub. They had thought of all the facilities that we may need along with a varied selection of food and drink for breakfast . The bathroom was very impressive with an extra large bath and shower along with a great view of the church. We could not recommend this hotel more and shall be returning

Room was not what I booked no king bed or bath tub. Manager (male) was very rude and arrogant when I complained about the room we was given. NYE event was on with no warning before hand or nothing on advertisement/booking. Could not sleep as music was blasting untill 2am (I have video proof with time stamps). Room was clean and cleaning staff were lovely however the rest f the stay was awful and I was not happy with management. They done nothing to rectify there mistakes and was very rude.

We had a lovely stay at the wool pack, the rooms were beautiful and very clean but the best bit was how friendly everyone was, not just the staff but also the locals in the pub, one lovely man even picked us up at the end of the night from an event we were attending in the area when we couldn’t get a cab , we have already planned to stay again next year

Room was really neat and tidy - Continental breakfast provided in the room. Evening meal food was good - beer quality was not (Timothy Taylors Landlord pint was grim). Only one person serving at bar and she had to service whole pub and take and distribute food orders. Clearly just refurbished and just needs bedding in to be really good B&B pub.

I stayed at the Woolpack for a long weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better or ore friendly place to stay! The rooms was immaculate and had everything you could want or need, the breakfast hamper is such a nice touch and already included in the price. The staff all made me feel so welcome, a good funny bunch that went above and beyond. The atmosphere was even better with the live band in the bar Saturday night, having a good dance to some real music. Would 100% stay again!

BOOK WITH CAUTION! The property is nice, and the staff on site were welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, the pub does Karaoke (and didn't warn us in advance), and it was so noisy we couldn't even hold a conversation in our room, never mind sleep. The staff tried to be helpful on site but nothing could be done, so we didn't end up staying and went home instead. When we tried to raise the issue with the owner, they were very difficult to get hold of and refused to give the refund we were entitled to. Expedia eventually resolved the issue and gave the refund.

Lovely rustic pub / hotel. Room was great with the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for some time. Kitchen was closed for refurbishment but only a short walk into the centre of the village. Good choice of cask ales in the bar. Will stop here again if work brings me back to the area

Room absolutely stunning! Bed really comfortable, bathroom enormous and spotless. Loved the breakfast hamper really nice touch. Only downside was the noisy pub downstairs, would be really difficult to sleep. We made the decision to go down and have a drink, the locals and staff were very welcoming so we made the most of it 😊.

Situated on the outskirts of the lovely village of Coggeshall next to the church this historic Inn was a wonderful, peaceful get away. The bedroom had been refurbished to a high standard whilst retaining it's historic charm. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved this place! So idyllic. We spent the evening sitting by the fire, drinking, chatting to locals and cuddling puppies. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Room was big, super comfortable bed and the bathroom very nice too. The breakfast hamper was a lovely gesture. Being right next to the village church meant hearing the church bells Sunday morning and I am pretty sure those are the loveliest church bells I ever did hear. PERFECT STAY!

From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome by not only the staff but by the locals and were made to feel at home Our room “Dedham”was amazing,very clean and modern but still in keeping with the period of the pub. They had thought of all the facilities that we may need along with a varied selection of food and drink for breakfast . The bathroom was very impressive with an extra large bath and shower along with a great view of the church. We could not recommend this hotel more and shall be returning

It was listed as having a restaurant, but hasn’t. It said breakfast included, but it was a yogurt and fruit in a fridge. When a British pub says breakfast you expect a full English not a continental.

The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfy. We very much appreciated the unexpected breakfast hamper that was provided. The pub food was disappointing, we would stay overnight again but would eat somewhere else.

Very nice place to stay, great in room selection of snacks, breakfast items, teas and coffees. Shame the restaurant wasn’t open on my visit but there is options in the town within a few minutes walk. Overall very very good.

Terrific stay, lovely room with a fantastic view from patio. Great breakfast baskets which included all sort of quality goodies. Only negative was no food available in the evening midweek. Overall fantastic place to stay.

Checked out early after 1 night. A very old building so we understood it wasn't set up to deal with the extreme heatwave but very concerned with the access to the room. Extremely steep and winding stairs to our room with no handrail to assist and I worried how we would evacuate in case of emergency. Smokers gathered in the garden and smoke rose into our room. No staff on site overnight but all the garden lights left on so it was very difficult to sleep.
