Countryside Motel

This is always my choice when I'm in the fish. Kill duchess Putnam County area. It's easily accessible. It's simple and it meets my needs. The staff is always very pleasant and it's quite affordable

I would characterize this place as an “afternoon short hour nap” motel. The proprietors are clearly not interested in hosting but focused on overcharging for a sub-standard room. First off, the room was heavily scented, which signals to me that they are trying to cover up unpleasant odor(s) rather than deep clean. The carpet hasn’t been shampooed in years, and close to matting from the imbedded dirt—wear house shoes inside, no bare feet! One of the bedside lamps was missing its switch so you couldn’t turn it on. There were 3 plastic hangers from department store clothing racks, complete with sizes on them, one for upper garments and two with clips for pants. Not really useful. No amenities besides a refrigerator—no coffee maker, no tea. The window air conditioner unit was not quiet, but it covered up the nearby road traffic noise. Depressing, not comfortable, I could tolerate it for one night but no more. My happiest moment was checking out in the morning.

This was a vintage motel with some modern amenities that was a perfectly good place to sleep. We always enjoy being able to park right outside our room's door, as we did here. Like many older places the room was somewhat small, possibly made worse by a modernizing of the bathroom which may have taken away some floorspace. As a result there wasn't a lot of room to walk around but the fridge & microwave and modern bathroom offset the inconvenience. Air conditioner was an analog window unit workin' hard but helped out by a ceiling fan. Sadly we were unable to get the wifi to work at all and relied on our cellphone hotspots. The beds were uncommonly comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. We're willing to make some tradeoffs in order to support independent motels like this one, and would stay here again.

A quick overnight, only stayed for less than 10 hours.. properly is nice but a bit tired.. found the whirlpool in the room a bit strange but all I needed was a sleep and the bed was comfortable enough.. fur the price paid was worth the overnight

Comfortable bed. Room had a jetted tub which was very nice! Price was very reasonable. I would definitely stay there again.
