I have been here before, love the area. Only have dinner 5 days a week, but Food is very good. Cheap toilet paper. Still no elevator or bell hop. Tough on old people with bad knees.

The weather was perfect. Enjoyed a very beautiful sunset and a great meal at the on-site restaurant. The sangria was very special. Pool area and grounds were very well maintained. Our King Suite was very comfortable and we enjoyed a great view from the couch and even from the bed. The owner of the property was very friendly and accommodating. Sheila was very helpful during check-in. The restaurant manager was gracious and so were her staff. Will definitely be back.

the room was well maintained, but I could not give a good rating because:1. one-ply toilet paper 2. outside fireplace not working 3. cold shower 4. the towels are the cheap kind that don't dry you 5. so many bees you could not enjoy the back deck (I know they can't control the bees but at the corner of the deck was beautiful flowering tree that is causing the bees). 6. the game room had one bathroom out of order and the other locked. 7. They had several areas not open (pool, waterfall and lounge). 8. the front deck closes too early. 9. only one trash can in the bathroom no trash can at the coffee area. I would like to suggest to the owner or manager to spend one night in each unit over the next year and self-rate for total comfort. Ask the question is this what I want for my quest. It was very disappointing because the property is very beautiful.

Pleasantly surprised at how lovely this places was. It has a historic home feel with many beautiful details but also felt like a second home. Our room was very clean with a very attentive front desk and housekeeper. Highly recommend staying here & I hope to return in the warmer months to enjoy the pool and take advantage of the horse riding stables right next door. . Only one small improvement needed-but requires money. The game room needs a face lift cause it could be SO amazing. Other than that-just wonderful!!!

Nice place but presently in the middle of rehab. All of the listed amenities are either closed or in the process of being redone. All the windows in the rooms were also covered in plastic, which defeats the purpose of the view. Room was big and pretty nice, just outdated. Overall it would be a really cool place to stay when it’s all up and running, just check first on where it’s at.

I checked in using their after hours procedure and everything was perfect! They were very responsive when I locked my key in my room and were able to get me back in my room quickly. I love that they text you to make sure you made it to your room and they always remind you to come by the desk in the morning for biscuits and coffee. I usually stay there when I take courses at the NOC but I plan to bring my family back soon. The kids will love the game room and pool (in the warmer months). With prices comparable and often times cheaper than nearby lodging I will definitely be coming back!

The resort was very beautiful. It was old, but decorated nicely and very clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The grounds were beautiful, but some areas were in need of repair such as the game room. The pool was not open yet as it was being repaired as well. The only negative was it is on a busy highway with traffic noise. I would definitely return. .

1st off…Nantahala Village was under renovation so should not have been listed as open on Expedia. Chose this resort due to the rustic nature of the buildings & beauty of rooms. Upgraded to king with jacuzzi tub. Told a couple days before trip not available so comp an upgrade to room with balcony & indoor/outdoor fireplace. Arrived for checkin at 5pm-doors closed & locked. Help arrived & lead us into an unlit lobby. Checked in & told to drive around side then take far left of 3 roads & we were in 17. No markings on numerous buildings. Rued out some as appeared new. Searched by building to match key with door. Removed shoes when entered to find wet carpet. Also construction boards on outdoor fireplace hearth. Asked fans to be delivered to dry carpet while at dinner. Turned on fireplace & heat with fan on high. 3 hrs later - no fans & carpet still wet. Used blow dryer to dry beside bed so could go to bathroom without needing shoes. Ended up placing runner from bed on carpet to have a dry path. This caused me to look deeper-no smoke or CO detectors on the ceiling or walls. Found smoke detector on the top shelf in closet, tested & it worked. Positive - the bed was heavenly & the room decor tasteful & reflected ambience of facility. Loved the outdoor layout & that there are horse stables for riding. After the renovation, may be a lovely place stay & would consider when more in season.

The property itself was very nice, however, our room was very musty and we had no toilet paper in the bathroom. The front desk was supposed to be open until 8:00. We went back at 7:30 because we could t get anyone to answe the phone and the front desk was closed. So I had to go to the women’s bathroom I. The lobby to take a roll of toilet paper. Not cool.

The room smelled of sewage. When I discussed it, they told me the building was old and the gas is sometimes back up and they have to run water through them. Just letting you know the stench was unbearable in my room and had to sleep with the door open. otherwise it’s a beautiful property. The management was nice about my complaint and said they would compensate me on my bill and then I will get a message about it. I’ve got no such messages and no discount. Despite how beautiful the hotel is I would never stay there.

We went to the mountains for hubbys birthday great weekend trip. the room was huge plenty of space jetted bathroom. And stand up shower staff was so courtesy and attention to fix our tvproblems was very clean and bathroom. Was well stocked with essentials definitely will stay there again enjoyed our stay about 15 minutes to down town and other activities Nanthla village

The property was great except for the shock that there was no central heat and air. We arrived around 5pm (in Nov) to a freezing cold cabin. Once we got the wall unit and space heaters going, it eventually warmed up. Otherwise the cabin was really nice! It had a beautiful view! One small thing, we would have liked TVs in the bedrooms because we like to fall asleep with it on.

We have stayed at Nantahala Village Resort previously in the lodge and wanted to return for our anniversary. The Lodge is terrific. The cabin room where we stayed this time, not so much. I learned that the Lodge does not actually own the other cabins but does registration for them, so I don’t know how much control they have over maintenance and housekeeping in the cabins. That said, our stay in #14 was not up to our expectations. First of all, the view pictured on the website isn’t accurate any longer - two additional cabins have been built. Not a deal breaker but it was not what we were expecting. Secondly, though advertised with WiFi, there is none in the cabins, only in the lodge. Again, not a deal breaker, but not what we were expecting. The cabin on the inside was tidy but there was a lot of deferred maintenance: chipped paint in the room and bathroom, split wood on the bathroom door frame, a lamp that was very tippy on the right side of the bed and a switch on a lamp that was cracked and the electrical elements were open to the person turning the lamp on. Carpet also needs replacing.Exterior sidewalks were full of cuttings from the landscapers who were working on the day we checked in, but they never came back to blow it off the sidewalk. On the positive side, the room is very large with extra seating. Is well equipped with a small drip coffee maker as well as a refrigerator and microwave. It was nice to have a balcony to sit outside even with the compromised view.

Our stay was excellent! From the moment we made the reservation the hotel staff reached out to us and confirm and to let us know about the hotel. When we arrived, the manager was AWESOME!! She checked us in, gave me a tour, told me about the local amenities and every time we saw her she was friendly and helpful! The rooms were beautiful for it being a 1930-40’s hotel and we had no problems at all. The pool was relaxing and across the street is a great coffee/ice cream/bar and lounge. Super friendly folks there too! We had a fantastic time.

This was a nice getaway for me and my wife. So clean and cozy. Feel like we found a hidden gem! The staff went above and beyond. It was my wife Birthday and they put flowers in our room for her! Something they don’t mention that was amazing view if you walk to the top of the hill near cabin 23. The view was breath taking. Also the pool was perfect!! We will stay here again for sure!!

The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and stressless. I so enjoyed my stay. When making the reservation i informed them of the purpose of the trip, when i arrived, checked in and went to my room there was the birthday cake waiting. My friend loved the cake and thevstay. The property itself was very nice, however, our room was very musty and we had no toilet paper in the bathroom. The front desk was supposed to be open until 8:00. We went back at 7:30 because we could t get anyone to answe the phone and the front desk was closed. So I had to go to the women’s bathroom I. The lobby to take a roll of toilet paper. Not cool.

I checked in using their after hours procedure and everything was perfect! They were very responsive when I locked my key in my room and were able to get me back in my room quickly. I love that they text you to make sure you made it to your room and they always remind you to come by the desk in the morning for biscuits and coffee. I usually stay there when I take courses at the NOC but I plan to bring my family back soon. The kids will love the game room and pool (in the warmer months). With prices comparable and often times cheaper than nearby lodging I will definitely be coming back!

The room smelled of sewage. When I discussed it, they told me the building was old and the gas is sometimes back up and they have to run water through them. Just letting you know the stench was unbearable in my room and had to sleep with the door open. otherwise it’s a beautiful property. The management was nice about my complaint and said they would compensate me on my bill and then I will get a message about it. I’ve got no such messages and no discount. The resort was very beautiful. It was old, but decorated nicely and very clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The grounds were beautiful, but some areas were in need of repair such as the game room. The pool was not open yet as it was being repaired as well. Overall the hotel was a very nice hotel. The hotel is being renovating but the room that we had was already completed. The room was clean. The only issues we had was that the water would come out of the faucet blue, but it’s because of the old copper pipes. After you ran the shower for a little while the water would be clear. The hotel had free sausage biscuits and coffee which was very good. Overall, we had a very nice stay and we would stay here again.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and both times we had a wonderful experience. The sausage biscuits for breakfast were amazing. The only negative is the coffee is not the best I’ve ever drank but not the worst either. Overall fantastic hotel and the location is exceptional. We will be back.

Had a really hard time originally deciding where to stay. Theres just too many options in the area …as are rafting companies. In end, the decision to stay here was the best ever. All was Fantastic. Great staff and checkin was flawless. We utilized the pool which was so great after rafting! The resterant was so good that we ate there both nights. And after dinner to go across the street to Tommys bar which is also part of the hotel - just fun. We lucked out with this hotel and lucked out with the rafting company Endless River which was just up the street so that was also super convenient and not far away. Great Job!

While cabin can sleep 6, seating in kitchen could only accommodate 5 and 4 in living room. Description of property is misleading. There is a grill, but not useable.. Same for fire pit, it is there but filled with leaves and debris, not useable. The back deck off the bedrooms had acorns, leaves and branches on it. hard to walk on and the 2 chairs there were dirty and moldy. Couldn't be used so we had to stand while on the deck. Fireplace in living room is nice touch, but since there wasn't any firewood there we couldn't use it? Would be nice to have place mats for glasses and dishes on the table.
