Such a beautiful place with a lot of history. Location is fantastic, right in downtown and walking distance to everything. Lovely grounds, outdoor living room and fireplace, and plenty of space. Staff very friendly, helpful and accommodating! Will stay here again!

Not a bad spot to stay but surely not luxurious or breathtaking. Only one item for breakfast plus coffee. Had to climb 16 stairs each time we went to our room. Hard for 70 plus folks like us. Again not bad by any means just not the best.

We had a great stay and had no problem upgrading our room when we arrived. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. We had safe overnight parking in front of the inn. The staff was very friendly and I would stay again next time we visit Aiken.

Lovely, very convenient to downtown Aiken and easy parking. Was able to walk to my downtown meeting. My room was in the main building - charming and well-appointed. Great experience from check-in to check-out. Very impressive breakfast buffet! Thanks for a short but great stay!

A beautiful old building with modern touches. The gardens around the buildings and common areas are fantastic. A great place to stay in the awesome little downtown of Aiken. If you have problems with steps, ask for a lower level room.

We enjoyed our stay. Love the breakfast. Room was very cozy. Very clean. The only disappointment was running out of warm water during our morning shower and the one Palmeto bug in our room.

Even though I chose to pay at time of check in they ran my card before I got there and charged $8.43 additional for using a charge card. Bed was worse I ever slept in. Breakfast terrible. No elevators and steps very steep. Beware! Nothing like advertisement. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Smoke detector dangling from ceiling.

Arrived w/ very positive expectations and initial check-in was as friendly as we could hope. Unfortunately that would turn out to be the highlight of the stay. As part of the check in parking options were explained. What wasn’t mentioned was the very sticky sap residue from the trees adjacent to the property parking area. Good news - w/ some focused cleaning the sap came off but glad I didn’t wait for it to get baked on in the heat (94 deg). But that was only one of multiple morning surprises. Was greeted by a near 2 inch cockroach / ‘palmetto bug’ in the bathroom in early morning. I know it’s S.C. but boutique hotels typically ensure that doesn’t happen. Mattress was very soft and the light on one bed stand rivaled the leaning tower of Pisa. All aspects characteristic of older, second tier hotels - not an elite B&B / hotel. Finally the included breakfast, while well intentioned, was very underwhelming. Arrived at 9 Sun AM - yet the muffins were gone, hashed browns down to the last few and no ketchup (for eggs). I asked about ketchup and was graciously but surprisingly told - no sir were completely out”. Didn’t try the coffee but the orange juice was mediocre. Ultimately the experience in whole was well below par from what was expected and I feel advertised. I doubt seriously we would choose to stay again when visiting family.

This place is great. It is an old building and shows it’s age a little bit in ways you would expect. It felt safe, clean, comfortable, and quiet. I’m not sure I have ever slept so well on a hotel bed. If I’m ever in the area again I will stay here with no hesitation.

Those 2 women running the front desk - priceless! I wish every business owner could have loyal, trustworthy and hardworking people like them! You can not put a price tag on those qualities! Great place!

The first three days were good. The room was good. They had a dresser that was very hard to open. The door to the patio was hard to open. The Hotel was old so had no elevator to go up two flights of stairs. Candace was the management person who helped us the most. Also, the lady who did the morning meals. The morning the power went out there were no information from the management as to what to do. There were no flashlights, candles or bars for food. There was no information from the management. There were also no fire extinguishers that we saw. There was no bottled water available for any of their customers. I feel that we should be reimbursed for Friday night as we had now power or any type of direction from the management. I realize the town was without power but I feel the management should have stepped up more. Also for seniors that may have issues climbing stairs they should be advised that they will need to carry their suitcases up the stairs & down the stairs. This property also had an additional newer building in the back of the main house.

I stay was nice for the one night. We did have two nights booked, but we had a family large emergency and had to leave to try to catch an early flight – we also missed our opportunity meet with our realtor that day to show us property, which was the reason we went to Aiken. However, we understand the 48 hour policy things do happen and it wasn’t emergency. It wasn’t like they were lacking business and had a memorial weekend coming up. We were told we could only get a credit when we ever return. We explain that we wouldn’t be returning now and we just wanted, the credit card credit. It was not allowed even under this unforeseen circumstance. It is very disheartening And unfair.

This is our second time staying when my daughter shows at Bruce’s Field. Love the proximity to the barn, and the downtown location is very walkable to shops and restaurants. The best part about the Carriage House is the service; the staff truly treats their customers like family. Nice complimentary breakfast every morning, and amazing afternoon cookies! Thank you for a great stay!

This is our second time staying when my daughter shows at Bruce’s Field. Love the proximity to the barn, and the downtown location is very walkable to shops and restaurants. The best part about the Carriage House is the service; the staff truly treats their customers like family. Nice complimentary breakfast every morning, and amazing afternoon cookies! Thank you for a great stay!

Wonderful location....beautful accommodations and the grounds very nicely kept up. Our only dissatisfaction was minor and that was with the breakfasts. First, Andrea was wonderful cooking eggs to order and providing all requests but the rest reminded us of the Hotel free breakfast including the plastic coffee cups; especially the weekend buffet. In the beautiful setting that is the main house, coffee mugs would have more character in keeping for the building. Understand that costs have risen for providing that breakfast, though.

My only complaint: I thought breakfast was misleading. I anticipated a home cooked southern repast. Instead it was on menu as continental: fine, but pre packaged stuff (Little Debbie muffins, toaster waffles, pre-made croissant egg and sausage for microwave. ) . Perfectly adequate! But same as Holiday Inn. I'm no foodie but I'd anticipated a Southern grits and egg bfast. Lovely place though!

You pay for location. $100 a night more than the Hilton and poor breakfast offering. Hilton includes eggs pancakes waffles bacon. Carriage house had bagels and packs of oatmeal. You pay for being downtown I guess. The room was fine.

Employees were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Kitchen was being renovated, so it was pre-packaged food items. Not very many acceptable places to eat. Most people were rude. Shops don’t open until 10am or 11am during the week.

Arrived w/ very positive expectations and initial check-in was as friendly as we could hope. Unfortunately that would turn out to be the highlight of the stay. As part of the check in parking options were explained. What wasn’t mentioned was the very sticky sap residue from the trees adjacent to the property parking area. Good news - w/ some focused cleaning the sap came off but glad I didn’t wait for it to get baked on in the heat (94 deg). But that was only one of multiple morning surprises. Was greeted by a near 2 inch cockroach / ‘palmetto bug’ in the bathroom in early morning. I know it’s S.C. but boutique hotels typically ensure that doesn’t happen. Mattress was very soft and the light on one bed stand rivaled the leaning tower of Pisa. All aspects characteristic of older, second tier hotels - not an elite B&B / hotel. Finally the included breakfast, while well intentioned, was very underwhelming. Arrived at 9 Sun AM - yet the muffins were gone, hashed browns down to the last few and no ketchup (for eggs). I asked about ketchup and was graciously but surprisingly told - no sir were completely out”. Didn’t try the coffee but the orange juice was mediocre. Ultimately the experience in whole was well below par from what was expected and I feel advertised. I doubt seriously we would choose to stay again when visiting family.

Staff was friendly and pleasant. I was able to bring my dog here. Hot breakfasts were splendid! Old fashioned ambiance was sweet and historic. You can walk everywhere in town, and parking was very easy. I definitely recommend the Carriage House.

The Carriage House is a wonderful Inn! It's very close to good restaurants in Aiken and the staff was very kind. A special "shout-out" to Andrea who was so very helpful to me. My husband uses a walker and Andrea saw me loading our luggage by myself. She quickly took over the cart and would have loaded the car had I let her. I am only sorry that we could only stay one night.

Adorable!! We loved our room!! We had a full kitchen and a patio overlooking the beautiful courtyard! Plus a sitting area in front.. great find! Will definitely be back:)

Everything was beautiful clean with very nice rooms however I would NOT recommend staying in room 324, which is where we stayed. We had doors opening closing by themselves, mirror found in the floor, lamps laid over on table, etc …needless to say we won’t be staying there again. However the staff was great very clean beautiful property just not my cup of tea.
