Fantastic stay. House and garden are beautiful, with great views of the lake (Whitman room) and very accommodating hosts. I can only add to the many others that have praised the orange-cranberry scones. Will definitely come back

Very cool little spot. Very accommodating hosts. Charming. On the water. Nice breakfast made to order. Pricey, at least when we stayed, but worth it.

Beautiful Craftsman details inside at Mendota Lake House, and the garden out front is amazing. Terrific lake views; it is just a few steps down from the back deck to walk through the park on the lake. You will need to pick one of two options for a hot breakfast the night before, or simply grab a coffee or tea and a couple home-made scones and some local cheese from the sideboard if you want lighter fare on your own schedule.
