WYE Motor Lodge Duncansville - Altoona

It seems like an older property but it is well kept and clean. The beds were comfy and the shower had plenty of hot water and water pressure. The staff has always been friendly all three times i have stayed here. The property is easy to find since it is on Plank Rd which is one of the main roads that all the shopping and dining is based on. It is quiet since it is about a mile south of all the shopping so it is close enough to everything you might want but not in the middle of all the traffic and noise. The only caution i can offer is there is limited space for anyone pulling any sort of trailer to park it.

This motel is well maintained. The bathroom was clean and functional. The AC worked and the refrigerator worked. Easy access to the highway and parking was good.

How about having a coffee maker in the room?

The Wifi did not work. The ice machine did not work. The coffee tasted like it had been made last week.

No so good because ice makers is not working out of service no breakfast served only coffee

Quiet, exterior entry to room, parking right outside the door.

Air conditioning was very effective and parking was both easy and convenient. Left to go work for a bit and came back to a tidy room.

Every time I return home to Altoona, I stay here. Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced. I just wish the rooms had coffee makers! (Glad there's now a Rutter's across the road!)

This motor lodge is quaint in the Duncansville area of Pennsylvania. Affordable, clean and the water is HOT. :) It's dated and I was able to bring my pets. For a good deal, safe environment, and pet friendly - WE will be back. This motor lodge made our trip possible.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Easy in and out and close to Interstate 99. Enjoyed our stay.

It was ok, very, very dated but the rates were VERY fare. Bathroom floor had dirty shoe prints all over it. We cleaned it with clorox wipes. The shower is older but really clean. The sink is newer and very clean. The toilet is very low to the floor but very clean. Beds were older and not very supportive but clean. The pillows were very thin which is no good for me personally. Fridge was clean, A/C worked well. It was newer. The grounds were well kept and nice. The grounds are very well lit at night and quiet too. The office was older and dated. We wore our shoes while on the carpet because I couldn't tell if it was just old or dirty or both. BUT AGAIN, the rates are very fare !!! And I would not be afraid to stay there again. Super nice people operating it and it was AWESOME to have an actual key to unlock the door and not a card. You just dont see that now a days. Very nice to be able to park right in front of your room door. Great for loading and unloading people and luggage. It is convenient to town, close to restaurants and, maybe the best of all, close to a classic Meadows custard !!!

Bedding, towels, shower, sink & toilet were clean. Everything else was very dirty. Metal items in bathroom are rusty. Desperate need for painting and updating the facility.

Room was very clean. Quite. Parking close to room, always a plus for me. Plenty of restaurants around to eat. Easy check-in and out.

I’m not sure what rooms the people who rated this an 8.8/10 stayed in, but it wasn’t the one I had. Atleast I didn’t get bit by bed bugs, but two of the four pillows had massive stains along with the bath towels which didn’t dry you, to the floor not being vacuumed. From the smell to the old outdated style of the room I will never stay there again. When I tried to get a refund to find somewhere else to go they wouldn’t do it, proceed with caution.

The place needs updates. It was clean yet shows wear for its age. We had to change rooms due to mildew smell. 2nd room was better but needs up dates to rugs/curtains/ bedding and bath towels.

Very nice, quiet independent motel, old-school style where you park right outside your door. This motel is older but very clean and well-maintained. And what a great shower! Excellent water pressure, much better than average (and better than many newer hotels). I will be staying here again.

The bathroom was pretty grimy. Otherwise, it was a clean (albeit outdated) facility in a safe neighborhood. Staff were pleasant and they provided a tasty cup of coffee in the morning. Would stay here again but would bring sanitizing wipes to clean the room myself

WONDERFUL STAY! Safe, quiet and clean with all working amenities (air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, shower). And the front office staff were professional, friendly and accommodating when I needed extra soap and shampoo. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

This is an old motel with old rooms that are clean but very dated. Good value.

It was okay to stay in for one night. It was very roomy, with big furniture pieces. I was not sure about whether to shower in the little shower stall the room has. Bathroom should probably be updated. Bathroom fan was very loud so i couldn't keep the light on in there with for slightly open, so i could see if i woke up in middle of night. I ended up laying a towel around the wass lamp by bathroom to cutdown light, but did not cover the open top.

Mattress was very uncomfortable. Place needs some upkeep and TLC

You get what you pay for. It wasn’t awful but it was out dated and smelled old. I would say the room was clean.

Everything was good. beds were great. Pillows could use pillow protectors. And cable TV.

The room was certainly dated. I have stayed at this location many times over the years but is has been years,since my last stay and found the pricing to have out-paced any upgrades. The old non-functioning heaters are still in-place in both the sleeping area and bathroom and look terrible. The heat and ac are provided by a small through-the-wall ac/heatpump that worked well but the location caused the blower noise to compete with the television. The television was a newer flat screen with a good picture, but whenever it was turned on, i had the change the input for hdmi1 to hdmi2 on the tv itself, the remote would not bring up input settings. The telephone did not work. I had to call the front desk on my cell phone. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows were ridiculously small. It appeared that a throw pillow sized pillows were used and the standard size pillow cases were folded in to give the appearance of fitment..very uncomfortable for sleeping or watching tv in bed. After tax etc., I payed $190 + for two nights which is too much considering the dated nature of the room and mentioned issues. There exterior was ok, parking good, location good. Unfortunately, after 20 years of staying there, for the rates now being charged, I will pay a few dollars more and stay somewhere that offers modern features and amenities.

The stay at the MotorLodge was great. As expected for a Motel. Only the AirCondition is very loud. You may have to switch it of over night.

This building has been around a long time. Probably since the 50s or 60s. The outside maintenance is top notch. Nicely groomed lawn and shrubbery. The building looks very well maintained on the outside. There is plenty of parking. It's in a great location. The WYE intersection and roadway is busy but not heard from inside your room. I am over 60 years old and remember this building my whole life. The rooms are outdated and I feel the carpet needed replaced in our room as it just seemed old and dirty. The windows were in need of a good cleaning. The bathroom although out dated was adequate and kind of neat to see the tile work from the 50s or 60s. The price of the rooms was equal to the quality of the room. If you're looking for a high end, fancy and updated rental then I suggest you keep looking. If you're tolerant of imperfections and curious about the older Wye Motor Lodge then go for it!

Retro vibe. Office staff could be more pleasant.

The front desk folks were very nice and accommodating. Because of my schedule I really need early check in. They went out of their way to get my room ready for me a bit on the early side. This small act on their part made all the difference in making my weekend successful.

Easy check in. First room we had wasnt so go, the wifi didn't work and the sheets on the bed looked unironed. We asked a different room which they gave with no fuss. Second room was better. Very basic but ok for one night. Quiet even though on the main road

Very outdated room. Small shower. Ask for a late check out, wouldn’t do it for no apparent reason. Refrigerator did not work. Was right next to office and a screen door kept slamming every 2 minutes from 8 am - 2 pm.

Service is always great and rooms are clean

I said I was checking in at 1:30 AM after a late arrival in Pittsburgh. I got there at 1:30 AM and could not get in the place. I had to get another room 5 miles down the road I assume I’m not gonna be charged the place looks pretty rundown as well.

Couldn’t check in and the guy behind the desk was rude

We stayed here over night. But when I went in to check in the man that waited on me wasn't very nice and not a friendly man at all. I did notice that when I went in to pay for my room. I have never came across a person like that. He should not work with people acting like that I don't think so anyway. We did like the motel and room. Very nice clean and very roomy. But we will never come back if that man is still working there!! Mrs. Goudy. Thank you.

Conflicting information on reservation screen did not clarify that office was closed at 11 PM and no one was available to check customers in thereafter. Phone call to front desk immediately disconnected. Could not check in, no arrangements were offered. Still got billed.

This was a great place for our short visit! Easy access off the highway, quick and pleasant service at the front desk, and clean rooms. We will be staying here again when back in the area.

I travel to Hastings PA once a month. For over 15 years I stayed at the Roadway previously Motel 6. Condition of the property and rooms detested. I tried The Wye Motor Inn and was greatly surprised the place is clean everything works in the rooms and it’s convent to I 99 and Rt 36. Best choice I made in many years

Quiet and clean. The disinfectant smell was a little over powering. Opening the window helped with that. Price was economical and was located near the Altoona ballfield which was the reason for our stay. Would definitely stay again.

As I travel to the Altoona area once a month this property is very convent to both I 99 and Rt. 36. It is safe, QUIET, easy parking, registration was easy, simple and fast. 1,000 times simpler then Roadway where I stayed for over 15 years. Wye is best in my book.

Excellent location. Super reasonable. Very quiet, even though next to a busy highway. Friendly person at desk. The only downside was the TV in room 30 doesn't get any channels.

It was ready to get to, close enough to Altoona, plenty of good places to eat around the area, and close to main highways.

I saved money by staying only a few miles further out at the WYE Motor Lodge. It was clean and comfortable.

The room was very clean. The bathroom appeared to have been upgraded to more modern style furnishing. It did suprise me they still use metal keys in the door for lock. I think the desk clerk could have either been more knowledgeable about eating establishments in area, or the Motor Lodge offer a pamphlet with resturants in area.

This place checked all of our boxes for a safe and clean place (and inexpensive) to find a place to eat and spend the night --and get out early in the morning. We ate at Marzoni's (a 3-4 min drive away). It is quite dated, but everything worked (even if hot and cold sides were reversed on the bathroom sink). We were comfortable and got a good night's sleep.

This motel deserves its high rating. At this price point I was skeptical, but it was a wonderful little place!. Great room, very accommodating staff, parking right outside your door. It had everything you need and lots of restaurants and shops very close enough to walk. Typically a motel this affordable is sketchy, but not the Wye. It was very nice!

When we walked into our room you could smell how clean it was. The place is dated but the price was extremely reasonable for the area. You may want to bring your own pillow as theirs are very tiny. Coffee is only available in the main office.
