It was my girlfriend and myself’s 4 year anniversary and we had an unforgettable experience. The room was just as it was pictured and even better than the photos online!! The room had a very rustic, old fashioned them to it and I truly was in my glory. I love these types of rooms out in the wilderness. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. It was just a beautiful and picturesque experience. We already both said we will be coming back here next year!! Thank you to the wonderful staff as they were more than pleasant with attending to our needs. We had questions about our thermostat and one of the women came to our room and helped us adjust the thermostat to our liking. We had a patio and the of our back outside was just jaw dropping stunning. The serenity was just extraordinary. I took so many pictures and videos of our room and the outdoors. We ate breakfast at the restaurant/bar next door and the food was wonderful. I have a severe dairy allergy and the staff there was able to accommodate my dairy allergy by making me scrambled eggs. I also did bring some of my own food as well. My girlfriend and I could not have been more thrilled and pleased with our stay in Lumberville at 1740 House. If I could I would give this experience a 100/100 stars!! We LOVED IT HERE!!! I will definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to be off the grid for a while and just wants to go explore and be one with nature!!

A picturesque and quaint motel style Inn along the Delaware River. All rooms have a view of the river. Each room is unique (a very sweet staff lady gave me the 50 cent tour since everyone else had checked out and we had the place to ourselves). Bar and restaurant is comfortable and rustic. Closest Mondays. Breakfast each day included. Our room (22) had a gas fireplace and a rear door which opened to a stone patio.The only name I caught was Bobbie. But her along with everyone, the cook, bartender, maids, front desk, was super sweet and attentive. Located south of Frenchtown, north of New Hope, 10 - 15 minutes from Peddler's Village, we did it all! Definitely coming back the next time we want to take a break and spend some time in the area. We had a nice weekend away at this cozy Inn. All of the rooms faced the river. We had a nice king size bed and TV in the room plus our private bathroom. The inn was very clean, comfy and quaint. The restaurant was wonderful as well as the bar- loved sitting around the fire with a drink on a cold wintry evening. I would go back again.

Room was beautiful. We had a fireplace and a nice size balcony. Bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel was extremely clean and well kept. We had dinner in the dining room and that was a real treat. The food was so amazing (especially the desserts). Service was impeccable and everyone was very polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful scenery- Delaware River view from our Room and cute little seating area to watch the river going by. The Bar was warm and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully served. Just sorry I wasn’t there when it’s warm enough to really appreciate everything the inn has to offer. The room was cozy and spacious

This is a gem of an inn. Historic property, quaint, with a beautiful view of the Delaware River Canal and state park. Friendly and courteous staff welcomed us and escorted us to our room promptly upon arrival. The included breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant offers great food and wine selections in a cozy atmosphere.

This place is beautiful. The breakfast is so good, and they seem very organized with just everything here. The views outside the room are amazing. The rooms are very pretty and cozy, and clean. We are very happy that we chose to stay here and will definitely be back again. :)

Our stay was comfortable. A refrigerator in the room would have been nice. There was no light in the shower stall. I also prefer a bathtub to a shower stall. Some cobwebs in some areas of the room just needed to be tended to.

Property view of water Incredible and walking trail by water, right on property. Staff very friendly, close 2 Delaware Canal Park, Bucks County Theater, n Peddlers Village. Rooms Very Clean, Breakfast was great, had item made and Continental breakfast combined. If I had 2 nitpick, no outlet nxt 2 bed, so phone had 2 charge on floor, have only old outlets n no fridge in room. Otherwise, Perfect!!

Our room was spotless and so comfortable, with an outside area to sit and watch the river flow. Continental breakfast was fabulous! I highly recommend this spot if your exploring New Hope or Lambertville areas!

We stayed her for an overnight getaway. It was perfect. Bed could be a little softer but everything else was great! We took a ride into New Hope and spent the day walking around. Super easy to navigate to and from the property.

Very nice Inn. Everything was wonderful except the woman who checked us in. Very unfriendly. Didn’t even look up when I walked in. She had condescending tone and was unwelcoming. Not who I would want to be greeting guests, if I was the owner.

Great stay. Welcoming people at the check-in and the check-out. Very good breakfast. A little disappointed in dinner. The menu only offered two items of interest to us. A chicken Caesar salad, which was good, and a garden salad with feta cheese - but it had any avocado oil based dressing and we dont like avocado. When asked if we could have a different dressing, the water said no. When asked if my wife could get a tomato juice, he also said no. And when I asked about fresh ground pepper he also said no, although he did find a mill. Just a curious set of events, that otherwise would have rated a 5

It was my girlfriend and myself’s 4 year anniversary and we had an unforgettable experience. The room was just as it was pictured and even better than the photos online!! The room had a very rustic, old fashioned them to it and I truly was in my glory. I love these types of rooms out in the wilderness. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. It was just a beautiful and picturesque experience. We already both said we will be coming back here next year!! Thank you to the wonderful staff as they were more than pleasant with attending to our needs. We had questions about our thermostat and one of the women came to our room and helped us adjust the thermostat to our liking. We had a patio and the of our back outside was just jaw dropping stunning. The serenity was just extraordinary. I took so many pictures and videos of our room and the outdoors. We ate breakfast at the restaurant/bar next door and the food was wonderful. I have a severe dairy allergy and the staff there was able to accommodate my dairy allergy by making me scrambled eggs. I also did bring some of my own food as well. My girlfriend and I could not have been more thrilled and pleased with our stay in Lumberville at 1740 House. If I could I would give this experience a 100/100 stars!! We LOVED IT HERE!!! I will definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to be off the grid for a while and just wants to go explore and be one with nature!!

Room was beautiful. We had a fireplace and a nice size balcony. Bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel was extremely clean and well kept. We had dinner in the dining room and that was a real treat. The food was so amazing (especially the desserts). Service was impeccable and everyone was very polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Visiting Peddlers Village the 1740 House was the perfect location. About 4 miles away from Peddlers but not nearly as congested. Quaint, quality Inn located right on the Delaware River. Highly Recommend

A picturesque and quaint motel style Inn along the Delaware River. All rooms have a view of the river. Each room is unique (a very sweet staff lady gave me the 50 cent tour since everyone else had checked out and we had the place to ourselves). Bar and restaurant is comfortable and rustic. Closest Mondays. Breakfast each day included. Our room (22) had a gas fireplace and a rear door which opened to a stone patio.The only name I caught was Bobbie. But her along with everyone, the cook, bartender, maids, front desk, was super sweet and attentive. Located south of Frenchtown, north of New Hope, 10 - 15 minutes from Peddler's Village, we did it all! Definitely coming back the next time we want to take a break and spend some time in the area. Property view of water Incredible and walking trail by water, right on property. Staff very friendly, close 2 Delaware Canal Park, Bucks County Theater, n Peddlers Village. Rooms Very Clean, Breakfast was great, had item made and Continental breakfast combined. If I had 2 nitpick, no outlet nxt 2 bed, so phone had 2 charge on floor, have only old outlets n no fridge in room. Otherwise, Perfect!!

We had a nice weekend away at this cozy Inn. All of the rooms faced the river. We had a nice king size bed and TV in the room plus our private bathroom. The inn was very clean, comfy and quaint. The restaurant was wonderful as well as the bar- loved sitting around the fire with a drink on a cold wintry evening. I would go back again.

This is a gem of an inn. Historic property, quaint, with a beautiful view of the Delaware River Canal and state park. Friendly and courteous staff welcomed us and escorted us to our room promptly upon arrival. The included breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant offers great food and wine selections in a cozy atmosphere.

We loved our stay at the 1740 House and in Lumberville. We recently visited and were looking for an alternative to stay in right in New Hope. The location is so beautiful, our room was even prettier than expected with a beautiful view of the river and nice area to sit outside. Breakfast was perfect. I highly recommend this inn, and visiting Lumberville! We will definitely be back in the fall.

Great place to stay. Away from it all but close enough to New hope, Lumberton, Lambertville and frenchtown. Peddlers village is just 10min away. Rooms are exceptionally clean as is the property. It's right on the Delaware River. Great views. Nice bar in on site. Nice little breakfast in the morning is included

Our visit was unfortunate. The most significant issue was the awful noise. We were in Room 10 which is apparently above the kitchen. When the kitchen staff opened the door to the back it slammed shut. It sounded like a gunshot and shook the building. We spoke to the receptionist as soon as the noise started (right after our 4 pm arrival) and learned we could not be moved to another room and there was nothing that could be done. All our suggestions, ie prop the door open, speak to the staff, etc. were met by a vigourous shake of the head - no, no, no. The noise went on until the kitchen shut down a little after 11 pm. This was long after we tried to go to sleep. Aside from this terrible, very terrible situation the room was cute, seemed clean until I noticed the pile of dust on the lamps next to the bed. Bathroom was also very tiny and there was no plug on one side of the bed to recharge our various equipment. We ate at the Inn and after selecting what we wanted for dinner were told that they had run out of 3 of the 4 items..and bread! This was at 7 pm. The food that we finally ordered was very good, but it would have been nice if they told us what was not available when we were handed the menues.
