Absolutely wonderful, a beautiful property. Safe and secure. Only small issue was the Bar service when ordering a drink the ice machine was not working and there wasn't any lime available for the drink (bar tender said that they hadn't bought any) but I still got charged the full amount of $12.00 plus (gratuity which is always added in to the charges) for poor service, a bit disappointing.

The views are amazing no doubt about it. But if you are staying on the lower- pool floor expect foot traffic and workers moving around all day long. Even though I rented a room with a pool view ( Anex room) I could not open blinds or windows because of the privacy issues mentioned above. You might want to spend more and get a room one or 2 floors above. Also, all newly arrived guests entering ( a short cut) not from the main entrance/ lobby but from the back, pool patio where exactly my room was located. That should not be allowed to reserve guests privacy. For me, my stay was not relaxed because of it.

This property was beautiful and always clean. The staff was very professional and friendly and very helpful. I’d say this was a 10/10. The only issue is that it’s too far to walk anywhere. But they do offer transport for a cheaper fee than a cab.

The hotel is beautiful. The people at the desk became my friends and are so helpful and sweet. I adored them. The breakfast was such a nice convenience. The private driving service can get expensive but it was also so helpful and cheaper than getting a cab! parts of the room seemed a little aged more than I would like but overall it was nice. I had some leftovers in a container and in the morning they were covered in tiny ants. They are very common on the island with drinks or food so you can’t leave anything out. The beach nearby i absolutely loved bc it was so quiet and peaceful with a tiki bar that also sold food. Overall, I had a great time

My husband and I had an overnight layover in Nassau and chose to stay at Ocean West Boutique Hotel. I wish we stayed another day to truly take advantage of this beautiful hotel and the city too. The hotel is not only beautiful to look and at explore but it also extremely clean an inviting. The location is ideal, located just a few minutes from the airport and across from the waters edge with a dramatic drive way. The staff wear many hats and are friendly and professional in every role. When we g back to Nassau this will be our go to hotel!

We needed a hotel since we missed our flight to Great Harbor Cay. This was one of the only properties that had a room left because of the holiday. Shontari, the desk manager, was very accommodating! He helped us to get transportation to a local restaurant as well as back to the airport for a lot less than we paid to get to the hotel. Hotel was safe, quiet and really quaint. Only 10 rooms. Very clean! A little pool with a great deck for relaxing. Also a pool table and great view of the water. Definitely recommend this hotel for all travelers!

When I booked this stay I was not aware that it was a bed and breakfast type place. I thought it was a small hotel. But, it was beautiful. The positives... the staff was amazing, friendly and very accommodating. The "Diamond" room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, with unbelievable views of the pool and ocean. The bedding was excellent (mattress on the firmer side, if you like that). Peace and quiet all around, which is exactly what we were looking for, from our hustle bustle lives. Downsides for us.... A/C was not great anywhere. I'm from Florida, I'm used to heat, but we also have great A/C. Throughout the main areas it was very hot. In the bedroom was an A/C unit, but in my opinion not large enough to cover the square footage of our room, and no air in the bathroom, so that part was uncomfortable for me. They don't keep the A/C's running all the time throughout the facility, and turn them on as you want to be in each room, which then takes forever to cool down. Transportation costs you to go anywhere and you're only within walking distance of a restaurant at the bottom of the hill. Example, to go downtown is $30 each way, $18 to go to the beach. It adds up quick. I'm not handicapped but this is NOT a handicapped accessible facility at all. Wanted to state in case anyone ever is that books. I only had breakfast there, and it was good. Be prepared to climb a lot of steps at the hotel. Recommend going to Nirvana Beach.

Being up the hillside from the beach and the road made this a quiet place to stay, and a very impressive hotel to arrive at. It's in a lovely setting with a long tree-lined driveway running down the hill towards the sea, and the rooms that are sea-facing have balconies with fantastic views. The rooms are well-decorated, and very clean and tidy. There's a Mediterranean feel about their design. Because it's the Bahamas, the staff are friendly and relaxed and helpful. We had such a lovely time here that it will be the only place that we'd consider staying next time we're on this island.

Staff which tried to be funny, but who made us feel really uncomfortable. The property is built up a hill which makes it inconvenient to walk anywhere. They have their own taxi, but are not able to plan. We changed our schedule for the taxi in line with their availability. They announced different prices for the ride twice and finally reserved a taxi which was more than 2 times more expensive than announced. Don’t expect anything complementary, even for the small bottles of water in the room they charge extra. There are much nicer places to stay in Nassau at better rates!

This hotel is amazing! The staff here were very friendly, accommodating, and courteous. They gave us great recommendations, which definitely made our experience in the Bahamas an awesome one. The hotel is very clean, serene, and off the beaten path. We were able to have the best of both worlds...time to rest, relax, & recoup while enjoying the island beaches, and hang out with the locals, and the tourisy stuff. Big pros for me..its only 4 mins away from the airport, the hotel is so quiet and serene, & the local bus takes you straight into town, to the other beaches, and tourist attractions. CON: The bus stops running at sundown...however, the hotel's car service runs around 10:30pm. Loved it! Will definitely stay there again.

Excellent all around! Easy available shuttle to and from the airport. We felt a warm friendly welcome during our stay as family at the hotel! Beautiful well groomed property with aa awesome pool and comfy cushioned lounge chairs for an afternoon nap. The breakfast options were great and delicious! We are grateful for all the employees we met during our stay...no name tags but thanks to all who obviously take pride in their work and made us feel special! Thanks Dion for all the historical info and your kindness!

Pros: beautiful place, fantastic staff and atmosphere. The only cos, it’s not very walkable and food options are few (but there are some!) nearby. Also whilst I loved my room it should have been built in a way to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings— But that’s what you get when you take an old house and renovated into a hotel. Bottom line is I very definitely would stay here again

Great quiet hotel with beautiful comfy rooms/beds and fantastic views from a super large balcony. Superb value for money! It’s not walking distance to major tourist areas but that can be a good thing and the hotel offers shuttles to all destinations at a fair price. There are two good, casual outdoor bars with good food/dinner options and fun music in walking distance. As a female solo traveler I felt very safe and comfortable here for two nights/days.

Absolutely pristine location. Beautiful furnishings throughout. Staff were friendly. It’s 12-15 minutes drive outside of town so you need a cab or hotel shuttle $30-$40 one way. Would definitely stay here again

The Ocean West is a WONDERFUL stay, BUT you basically need a car (or take a LOT of taxis). It's a beautiful modern take on an old mansion style, with AMAZING views of the Ocean (especially from pool patio and breakfast balcony). But it is relatively inconveniently located if you don't have a car. Myself and my partner were able to walk to a restaurant or two, but it was a little dicey. They only do breakfast at the hotel (although good and cheap). It's doable without a car, but I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you are OK with taking a taxi both ways every day, anywhere. They do provide a somewhat more affordable taxi service themselves, although it can be limited. The hotel is perfect if you're trying to get away from the resorts and hustle and bustle, but RENT a car, or just be OK with lots of taxis. Probably about the same cost in the end.

It is very peaceful and quiet with exceptional staff. The food could be better, especially for the cost. If you don't rent a car, you'll need to take a taxi everywhere.

Just as described. A lovely, quiet spot with beautiful beach views and friendly staff. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and the A/C worked very well. It’s a hotel but feels more like a big private home. A hot breakfast is available a la carte, but be aware the hotel does not have a restaurant on site to offer lunch or dinner. There are two good restaurants at the bottom of the hill with views of the ocean across the road: one an beachside bar and restaurant, and one more formal. They are within walking distance, but be aware that if you walk down the hill you will also need to walk back up. The hotel did offer transportation to the airport. Overall it was a great spot for me to relax for a quick overnight trip to the island. If I were staying longer, I probably would have wanted a car to get out and explore.

We were pleasantly surprised when our taxi drove up to the property, so much so that we thought we were at the wrong property. The only downside is there isn't a restaurant on site. A short walk down the driveway and next door were two excellent restaurants, one casual and the other a little more fancy. Excellent food.

Fabulous place, fabulous people. Not in the hub of things but perfect for a quiet getaway. We didn’t have a car but still managed to get out and about easily. Brilliant restaurants near by and hotel offers a car service if needed at a great rate. The only downside was the litter by the beach and in the residential areas……such a shame. Hotel property and surrounding area was spotless though. Also, bit of a steep climb to and from hotel so not easy for anyone physically challenged. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Book a room with balcony if available.

This is lovely and well kept. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast there was a plus. Close to airport and they transfer for a fee better than cabs. Loved the balcony. Best if you have a car. Walking…well, there’s an extremely long drive and up a hill for returning so …but the jitney ($2.50) is right at the bottom of that drive and will take you into town. Ate at Sunset (good food and drink, nice and breezy)at the bottom of the hill and checked out Sapadilla (very lovely) for future reference. There’s nothing else walkable for eating, but a good deal close by if you have a car (jitneys only run until about 5).

Pleasant stay for two nights & then a single night at Ocean West. Hotel was clean and a beautiful building and staff very welcoming and accommodating. They definitely could make more of the mini bar in rooms and charging for bottles of water is rather frustrating. Breakfast was lovely to have on the balcony, but in our opinion very overpriced.
