Good free parking, food v.good, pleasant staff, room fine except...... had 2 single beds both me and the wife woke with terrible backache,, 2 new mattresses are deffo needed as this was the worst nights sleep ever as springs pinged when you moved.

The Kicking Dickey is located near Stansted Airport. The checking went smoothly and the staff were friendly. The property situated our needs - it had wifi, TV, clean towels etc. The pub provided tasty food. We would stay there again.

Check in was easy. Friendly and efficient. Check out is at 10am every where else seems to be 11am. Dog friendly. Not able to park in the car park so a residential side road.

We stayed before a morning flight and I would definitely stay again. You can arrive up to closing which is 11pm. We initially couldn’t find parking as there was a darts match on (Thursday for reference) but you could block people in and shift it later on. The room was spacious, beds comfortable, and the room had plenty of tea, coffee, UHT milk, sugar as well as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. We slept very well. Once the pub is closed it’s very quiet.

Was welcomed and shown to our room as soon as we arrived and was told about dinner options. The bedroom was fine but the bathroom could have been cleaner. For the price it was ok.

The pub was lovely on the inside very clean and comfortable. Rooms were lovely like little cottages in the garden. Both our rooms were clean and comfortable. Plenty of coffee tea milk sugar on the welcome tray. Lovely towels and bedding. Really welcoming friendly staff. Good food at a decent price available. The only thing we didn't like was people standing in the open doorway smoking which is only a few feet away from the tables where we were eating so they might as well have been sitting at our table doing it

Sadly the stay wasnt as enjoyable as hoped. The mattresses we completely worn out to the point youd sink through the springs and onto the wooden board of the beds. We luckily went on a hot day so we could sleep ontop of the duvet for extra cushioning. The shower was stained red on the floor and there were obvious bits of mould around the shower cubicle too. The heater in the room didnt work (we tried for curiosity) and the shower we didnt use as it wasnt clean. Staff were friendly and helpful though and its a short bus ride away from the airport.

Room was quite cold when i arrived and no heating on in the evening, which was a shame. Could do with switching heating on at this time of year. Bathroom bit mouldy in places but minimal. For the price i would say really good value.

Ideal for my use, short stay to attend a concert nearby , Taxi service recomended was great. Room clean, plentiful tea and coffee. Bathroom clean, maybe would benefit from a little TLC sealant renewing etc but fine for our stay

Nice staff who were quick to show us to our room was great. Room was clean, well equipped with drinks. The bedding & towels were fresh. Water was hot for a shower so well appreciated. Lots of toiletries included which was a nice touch. Downside was the shower cubicle which had seen better days with both black & rust on it. The TV didn't work - it switched on but it couldn't find a digital aeriel - no big problem for one night's stay.

This is very much a local pub and a Karaoke night was in full swing when I arrived on a Sunday evening. That said, my room around the back of the pub was very quiet and I couldn't hear any noise. My single room was small but had everything I needed and was fine for a one night stay.

Conveniently located close to Stansted Airport I slept in a twin bed room with two single beds. The mattresses were very uncomfortable on both beds. New mattresses are essential. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Lady that checked us in was lovely. No hanging space, not even a hook! Shower area was mouldy. Curtain rail fell down in the night and due to outside lights facing the room we were unable to sleep. Beds lumpy but clean Ok for a night but nothing more Emailed to let them know as we left early but have been ignored Very average.

Friendly staff, reasonably priced food and a decent room. Unfortunately the room was just off the garden which was busy and very noisy so we got hardly any sleep and had to up at 3.30 Providing ear plugs would be a good idea.

What a great little place to stay the night! Great little town so close to Stansted. Great room, great food, nothing was too much trouble for Nicola.

We turned up late on a business trip and I’ve got to say this is the friendliest pub we have ever stayed at … after a long day the welcoming was fantastic and although food had finished they allowed us to order takeout and provided us with plates etc .. wow … simply amazing

Pleasant staff. Very accommodating with our request for an ealier than 3pm checkin. The room was tidy and clean, although the light shades needed dusting and the toilet seat was broken. A good selection of tea, coffee etc and biscuits. Juice was a welcome surprise. Overall a pleasant stay.

An excellent place to stay before an early flight from Stansted. Only drawback was the taxi fare of £31 to get to the airport. Very friendly welcome, even though it was late at night when we arrived. Would definitely stay there again.

Booked it as it was close to the airport so super convenient. Room was lovely, bed was comfy. Couldn't have faltered it for what I needed it for. Check In and check out was super easy. Would happily book there again.

Clean and tidy, the accommodation is a quirky building at the rear of the pub. Basic but quite acceptable for the price. Conveniently situated for Great Dunlop and the start of a bike ride I was taking part in.

This is a great place to stay for Stansted airport. We had an early flight, this was easy to get to and 10-15 minutes from airport. Staff were great and being a pub good for food and drink. Room was fine for us, wasnt in it long enough to see anything amiss. Would definitely use again.
This is a great place to stay for Stansted airport. We had an early flight, this was easy to get to and 10-15 minutes from airport. Staff were great and being a pub good for food and drink. Room was fine for us, wasnt in it long enough to see anything amiss. Would definitely use again.

The Kicking Dickey is located near Stansted Airport. The checking went smoothly and the staff were friendly. The property situated our needs - it had wifi, TV, clean towels etc. The pub provided tasty food. We would stay there again.

Great little room. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Plenty of tea and coffee and toiletries, which was nice. Very friendly and a lovely pub. Food great - and we joined in with Bingo night! Very convenient for Stansted.

An excellent place to stay before an early flight from Stansted. Only drawback was the taxi fare of £31 to get to the airport. Very friendly welcome, even though it was late at night when we arrived. Would definitely stay there again.

Staff were very nice and friendly. Food and service excellent. Room was basic but ok. No hooks or anywhere to hang clothes, mattress a bit worn and bit uncomfortable but ok for the price. Good value for one night.

Very friendly staff. Lots of drinks provisions in the room. Comfortable enough room and value for money. Excellent home made food on the evening menu. No breakfast but this wasnt a problem for us

Did exactly what we needed. Easy check in and check out, right next to stansted airport. Staff friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and food was great!

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There are a couple of hangers available for the clothes. The bedroom has a table with a TV. Coffee and tea were available with a kettle. There is a parking. Super convenient for early flights at Stansted airport.

I have stayed here 3 times. Lovely well equipped rooms. Plenty of tea and coffee. Very near the rest of the village for last minute shopping. Very convenient for the airport. Free parking on site. Excellent price.
