Gateway Motel

Lovely stay at the Gateway. The motel was clean and the dining options at the Vineyard and Tommy’s cafe were amazing. It also had onsite laundry facilities which was very convenient and the staff were friendly. It was our favourite motel stop driving from Queensland through to Melbourne.

Will be better when construction completed. Hotel warns to keep valuables out of vehicles?

The hotel & motel site is undergoing construction works which we weren’t aware of when we booked. The hotel staff were friendly & helpful. The food was excellent & dining area had a nice ambience. Once the construction works are completed we would revisit.

renovations going on around the area, but didn't bother us too much. Pub next to motel serves wonderful food. Basic,clean, and staff very helpful. Overall, a very good economical stay for 7 days at short notage. Microwave, toaster and jug were handy for breakfast. Another plus is a laundry on site.

Ample parking

The motel is part of a hotel complex with live music or taped music and large beer garden at the rear. Unfortunately the cheaper rooms back onto this area and I'd hate to stay nearby. We were lucky, we booked the more expensive room which was larger than basic rooms and separate to the complex - the music wasn't as much as a problem. Good bedding, clean room, pay tv, close shopping and a motel bus meant a reasonably good stay

Easy Check in. Standard room was well serviced however outside could be a bit cleaner, a good sweeping.

The motel is clean, a lot of space in the room. We have a camper trailer, lots of parking spaces. Only thing we don’t like about it- the pub next to the motel got very busy on Saturday, a lot of pub visitors parking in motel car park.

The main area of the property was clean, tidy and comfortable. The shower water made a lot of noise and there was a significant amount of mould on the bathroom ceiling

While the room was as expected i did not like the roches. They need serious fumigating.will never go there again.

The grounds are huge. The motel unit blocks are well away from the bistro and road. It's quiet. Some rooms allow pets though, so YMMV regarding dog noise - there was a little. HUGE area for dogs to play in so if you're bringing pets, look no further. The room was perfect (for the price) other than wet and damaged carpet?! That was out of place because everything else was on point. The Bistro is excellent, very busy but that's because it's very good - pizza was brilliant. Remember this is 1h from the city as Sydney is a big place. It's at the end of a motorway so getting to town is easy, though there's tolls and a decent drive. I'll stay again if I need to visit that area though.

Poor quality room with many cracked tiles and cracked wash basin. Door security latch not there. Bad smoke smell permeating the room. Dirty carpets and couch. Sold on expedia as a deluxe room, which it definitely is not!

The staff were wonderful and very friendly especially in the Vineyard Restaurant, gaming, bar etc. Room on the outside was very ordinary , we were in the older rooms but we were very relieved to see that once we were inside it was fairly standard but comfortable and much nicer than the outside. The bathroom whilst everything looked brand new there seems to be some black mold on the ceiling, and inside the lovely new microwave was absolutely splattered with food which was a little bit off putting up as it looked like it had been there quite some time, this was mentioned to housekeeping on our way out and I am certain that she would have taken care of it immediately. The bed was amazingly comfortable as were the pillows. The security guards in the vineyard were awesome and happy to give their time to brag about their working environments. We were able to speak to the manager on Friday evening and they did about 800 meals for tea, we had nothing but compliments for the meals the staff and the Vineyard complex , this is a place that needs to be visited it is just such a gorgeous venue and the atmosphere is electric. The owners have certainly put a lot of money into this venue and we were told about additional work that is to be done and it is a full credit to them.

Being from the country we found all aspects of staying at the Gateway Motel very pleasurable, Staff very friendly, Meals well worth the costs, Rooms immaculate, I gave 5* rating. Thank you for making our stay stress free & friendly

Room 11 had a dog smell dirty stains on carpet. I was unaware dogs were allowed in rooms, but according in room information you do allow them. Might pay to remove carpet.

Comfy and clean

Everything was great, but there was very very weak Wi-Fi (struggled to even connect, let alone use) in the standard room (it's only marked as available in the superior and deluxe rooms on the brochure in the rooms).

Directly outside our window was the smoking table at the pub. It was extremely noisy. Surely the area within a metre or so outside the window could be a no go zone of an evening

We had a superior room in the new building apart from the road and very noisy bar but still needed earplugs due to the live music - Friday night. Room was large and spotless, bed too firm, shower huge with great pressure. Cafe and restaurant were good but again, noisy. Shoutout to the friendly cleaner - I told her that she gets a mention online and now I can see why!

The door to my room was really hard to open and close. You either had to ram it open or yank it real hard slamming the door to shut it. The older building has really poor sound proofing…

New block of units were very nice. Older block not so nice.

Water in shower was only warm

This place was fantastic and so welcoming after our long trip. The room was so clean and modern. We had a beautiful view of the garden from our room.

Our room was good but was located near the busy car park which was very noisy until about 3am. Didn't get a lot of sleep due to the noise

This place has come a long way since I first moved from the area. I am very impressed. Rooms are clean and modern, heating is great, beds are comfy. Shower water could have been a bit warmer but it was warm enough. I carry earplugs to sleep but if you don’t have earplugs then the noise from the surrounding developments and from the patrons of the hotel/pub/bistro might impact your sleep (we had them doing burnouts in the car park).

To start, the staff was polite. They were not rude in any fashion. It's an average motel, but the doors have big gaps, marks on the walls etc. Not the end of the world. My issue with the property, which I gave them two separate opportunities after AND while on site to address, is that they did not provide wifi despite it being listed. I was NOT informed at check in, had to go to the desk & ask to be told it was a problem, then followed up 3 times and never got a call back from the woman as stated. Said IT was there to fix it- never resolved. As soon as I found out this was a potential problem I asked why I wasn't told at check in as I need it to work- no response to the question. I said I could go somewhere else- ignored my comment. I was not rude or degrading, just factual. I needed wifi to work - 5 hours specifically- and I left note for management at check out (left before the lobby opened) and via email. No reply. Would not recommend for anyone needing to work or get follow up assistance. I am still waiting for a partial refund.

Friendly staff at checkin

I was only booked to stay for 4 nights. The Vineyard / Gateway Hotel is so good I stayed 7 nights. I’ve travelled all over for work and holidays, stayed in hundreds of hotels and met thousands of staff; and I can honestly say the staff at the Vineyard hotel are the friendliest people I've met. In the Gateway motel special mentions must go to Leah and Allison who made sure every question or request was met with a smile. The hotel room itself was perfect for my needs and cleaned to the highest standard. The location, ease of access to local shops and amenities, is great and countless food options are within minutes of the hotel. The Vineyard hotel has a spectacularly designed and presented dining / outdoor area and the food, from breakfast to dinner, was delicious. Standout food staff include Lacey and Bogdan. The Vineyard hotel. Straight pool tables, regular poker nights, great music, plenty of screens for NRL etc, clean gaming area. Though I am not usually a ‘hit the pub every night’ person the staff there had me coming back each night for a laugh or good conversation after my dinner. The supervisors Laura and especially Jaala were awesome, friendly & helpful. Any questions I had were immediately answered and they went the extra mile to make my stay more pleasant. Standout superhero staff from this side were the wonderfully kind Leanne; The happy, fun, Layla and Caleb; And my Vineyard BFF, the staggeringly stunning, fun and cheeky Brooke who made my stay absolutely perfect

We arrived at the Gateway Motel at approximately, 11:45pm. The check-in process was really easy, as we had already sent our required details for check-in via email. As a result, it was just picking up the keys from the bar and driving to the motel parking bay. The room was small, but comfortable for a one night stay. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but functional. Everything was clean and tidy. As we had an early flight out of Sydney, we really didn't spend any time exploring the area.

Everything was fine, except for customer service on arrival.

Almost everything was perfect, although we locked ourselves out of the room at 0600 and couldn't find any way to get in touch with someone. Having an emergency number would've been helpful

There was an issue with some noisy guests. Staff, including one of the cleaning ladies and the very friendly receptionists made it possible for us to get another room far away from the noisy people to be able to catch up with some sleep. Well done ladies, you know what customer service really means. We can’t thank you enough for a finally enjoyable stay at your motel.

Came down from rural NSW for a 1 night stay for my great grand daughter’s birthday. Staff were extremely helpful and cheerful exactly what you need after a 5 hour drive. Will definitely stay again if the opportunity presents itself

I was surprised and concerned to see that the motel unit was in the shared car park of the Vineyard Hotel, with major road works and earth moving equipment on site. However, once the door was closed it was totally quiet, no outside noise at all, despite the pub being open till 3am. We had a peaceful night.

Staff very nice and helpful. Room was clean and spacious. Lacking extra pillows and blankets. Otherwise comfortable stay. Location 2 mins to shopping mall.

I was in the newer part of the motel set back away from the road. The room was a great size with everything needed for an overnight or longer stay. The reception and cleaning staff were focused on me as the customer. They were friendly and although I had only put my booking in 60 mins before I arrived they were ready with paperwork. The motel is close to a tavern / bistro, as a single female the lighting was great allowing me to feel safe waking the 200-300 metres to the pub. Close to Windsor / Pitts Town and other attractions. With walks at reserves easy to find within 30 mins.

Clean and conveniently located

The rooms very clean, mattress very comfortable. We loved the Vineyard bistro, it’s right near the motel. We loved the fact we could walk over for breakfast or anytime of the day. Carmel Village just few mins away. You have Rouse Hill shopping centre and Rouse Hill station/metro that easily gets you into Sydney Central. Some National parks near by. Renovations going on around Vineyard Bistro. It was a perfect stay. A swimming pool would be a great addition there and turn the whole area into a resort. Only concern was motel guests smoking near the stairs, leaving ciggie butts everywhere. But the Motel itself is very clean, and we will be returning next trip to Sydney.

I didn’t realize how far away it was from the city of Sydney.

The motel is well maintained and staff are friendly. There is some road noise, but not too bad. Good value.

The room was clean and spacious, so no complaints there. However, the pub was being renovated, so only a pizza van was available for dinner. I'm sure this will improve once the pub is renovated, but it meant we had to drive around looking for food, and when you don't know the area, it's hard to know where to go.

Good, general motel accommodation with the pub next door that dies tend to make the stay a little noisy….not the pub itself but some of the tired and emotional patrons at closing time!! Staff attitude and service was excellent and the rooms very clean. The area around the motel is undergoing major renovations so there is a lot of building material and items that don’t make for the most pleasant general environment. If you want a main meal, the pub has a food truck out the front that serves pizza and pasta due to the renovations so choice is limited to Italian flavours.

Room was very clean and well equipped. Collocated bistro meal was good pub food.

We love staying here when visiting relatives. Has all you need in rooms. Plus the hotel with bistro and small cafe for you shot of coffee. Very comfy and tidy. Our go to place when out here.
