OYO Hotel Rockport- Bay View

This hotel was very disappointing when we pulled in, the photo's on this site are very misleading. This hotel is very run down does not look kept up at all & for the price that I paid we did not even check in because of how bad it looked & at the last minute had to search for an available hotel. I would highly recommend you remove this hotel from your site or make them provide updated photo's of what the hotel really looks like. It is a hard lesson learned that I am not able to be refunded what I paid & had to end up paying for another hotel at the last minute. I will never recommend anyone to stay here not even my worst enemy especially for what I was charged.

Initially had to wait in office for another attendant to come as the first “didn’t know how to check in. Then when the attendant came in, presented as disgruntled and didn’t understand why the other didn’t help. When we got our room key, we notice a smell immediately in room, which we noticed possible black mold from wall ac unit. The TV also wasn’t working to which we walked back to office to ask for assistance since no room phone. We noticed the office was closed. Back in the room, fridge was hot, couldn’t put our leftovers in. Sheets weren’t cleaned. Baby roaches in bathroom and main room. Chair provided was broke and husband slipped back injuring back. No cold water in sink, hot water yes but sprayed out ridiculously making hard to use. When going to plug in our charger, it’s sparked, shocking me. Now this was at 10pm which I understand is late. As we finally got through to customer service, they were going to refund us due to all the issues. Hour and half later someone knocks on our door, the attendant for hotel. Not asking about the issues we had to assist in fixing any of it, but stating if we asked for refund, to which my husband informed yes and why. He said ok to go with him as we needed to leave then he can refund us. We had to stay since we were exhausted from day and it was very late. Completely devastated on this place!!! Good thing was the firmness of bed to which we ended up having to sleep on top of it

When I first arrived, I was disoriented about where to go. After checking in with the very helpful staff, I got to my room. Unfortunately, the two key cards that were just assigned weren’t programmed. After they were, I was pleasantly surprised how spacious it was. Similar to a studio apartment. Full kitchen, good bathroom, the works. What didn’t please me was not only the door not properly installed, the deadbolt wasn’t able to be utilized, and there was no secondary lock. Once I left and came back from exploring Rockport, my key cards once again didn’t work. The on site employee was very quick to assist, but still a nuisance I didn’t want to happen at 1:30 in the morning. Overall, decent spot for the price - heart of Rockport, good staff, but need desperate security and technological upgrades.

The room was clean and had a larger dorm frig , and had a newer a/c system that worked very well, and the bed was comfortable. But the wifi was out and I had to unplug the TV because none of the remotes for it would turn it off. The gulls were enjoying the pool.

Don’t book here the pictures on the Expedia website are deceiving and not true it is not nice nor clean. They gave us bloody towels there was food on the bed and mold everywhere. It looks like a place where illegal situations happen this hotel nasty ghetto the worst I have ever seen in my life.
