OYO Hotel Rockport- Bay View

The room was not clean and smelled the staff was courteous but we had very little interaction with them

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I checked in, saw the condition of the room, documented it with photos, returned my keys, and left immediately. Before I even entered, there was a strong marijuana smell from neighboring rooms and water misting down near the doorway from a drain pipe. The window AC had a 5-gallon bucket underneath catching dirty water, and the unit itself contained filthy, mold-like standing water. The entry door was extremely loose with several inches of play and did not feel secure. Inside, the room smelled strongly of mold and mustiness, and I immediately began having respiratory/allergy symptoms. The floors were filthy, with areas that appeared to have mold. The closet had dirt and mold-like buildup, and the wiring behind the TV was a tangled mess with an extension cord running toward the refrigerator. The bathroom was even worse: dirt, suspected mold, broken trim exposing drywall, and a filthy shower with bundles of someone else's hair still stuck to the walls. I took photos, packed my things, and left. The on-site manager was polite, understood my concerns, and told me he would approve a refund. I then had to book another hotel in Rockport at a much higher last-minute rate. However, OYO Management still has not approved my refund after multiple methods and attempts. Refund my money. These conditions were completely unacceptable for a room being offered to paying guests. I would not stay here under any circumstances.

This hotel was very disappointing when we pulled in, the photo's on this site are very misleading. This hotel is very run down does not look kept up at all & for the price that I paid we did not even check in because of how bad it looked & at the last minute had to search for an available hotel. I would highly recommend you remove this hotel from your site or make them provide updated photo's of what the hotel really looks like. It is a hard lesson learned that I am not able to be refunded what I paid & had to end up paying for another hotel at the last minute. I will never recommend anyone to stay here not even my worst enemy especially for what I was charged.

Initially had to wait in office for another attendant to come as the first “didn’t know how to check in. Then when the attendant came in, presented as disgruntled and didn’t understand why the other didn’t help. When we got our room key, we notice a smell immediately in room, which we noticed possible black mold from wall ac unit. The TV also wasn’t working to which we walked back to office to ask for assistance since no room phone. We noticed the office was closed. Back in the room, fridge was hot, couldn’t put our leftovers in. Sheets weren’t cleaned. Baby roaches in bathroom and main room. Chair provided was broke and husband slipped back injuring back. No cold water in sink, hot water yes but sprayed out ridiculously making hard to use. When going to plug in our charger, it’s sparked, shocking me. Now this was at 10pm which I understand is late. As we finally got through to customer service, they were going to refund us due to all the issues. Hour and half later someone knocks on our door, the attendant for hotel. Not asking about the issues we had to assist in fixing any of it, but stating if we asked for refund, to which my husband informed yes and why. He said ok to go with him as we needed to leave then he can refund us. We had to stay since we were exhausted from day and it was very late. Completely devastated on this place!!! Good thing was the firmness of bed to which we ended up having to sleep on top of it

We have stayed several times here .it wasn't the Taj Mahal but clean and acceptable. It was absolutely horrific! ( staff nice and they accommodating) our 1st room air was out and floor wet .( 2 beds in room) they switched us to a I beleive was a Special guest room it was 100% better .cleaner that than 1 st room but not saying too much ..1st room was scary a cave for a shower one I'd never. I say Never step foot in with shoes! The 2nd room.. nice shower nice tiles but dirty .pool absolutely disgusting. I cannot believe that expedia woukdceven want this on their website!• or hotels .com . OYO should be ashamed..the photos show how bad pool and area was and a chickenbone on the step., how dirty floor was ..used to be ice machine had to wait 30 min to check in no one there to check in ! Seriously they need to shut this hotel down .someone is gonna get hurt or dye from mold or disease.
