The location of red roof inn was the best thing. The outside is not very appealing. The room itself wasn’t bad but I noticed blood or food on the sheets and I had to convince them to change them before I slept on them another night. Good thing it’s walking distance to downtown and the university and there’s a good bar in the same parking lot

Checking in was fine. Parking can be tricky at times as the motel shares the space with a restaurant/bar. It was a game weekend… pricing was ridiculous but knew in advance. room was not clean. Burn holes in the comforter. Dirty doors exterior and interior. Room smelled. toilet seat not secure. Bathroom floor was left with some sort of liquid. Shower gel and shampoo leaking down the shower wall into a pool in the tub. it worked for the night. I would prefer not to stay here again but i would if no other option.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. Our daughter is in college at MSU and lives close by. This time they are doing construction which there was no heads up about. I literally had to find my way to the desk through plastic to sign in. The guy acted surprised when I said 'do I check in here?' You could not find the desk or get to it without stepping over boards, paint, wires, cords, and through plastic. There is NO SUCH thing as breakfast any of the times we have stayed, not even coffee. My son was supposed to stay with us the first time we stayed but the beds are too small for my husband and I to sleep together. My son had to stay at my daughters' apartment. There is no way the beds are full size. There is a bar on site and parking is hard upon returning from game. Not sure they check cars to make sure they are staying there or at the bar. It has never been the cleanliest but this time took the cake!! I will add pictures.....I mean how do you miss a water bottle in the floor when cleaning, someone's floss pick and the walls are so disgusting!! Also, this time there was 2 towels and 2 wash clothes and one floor mat. The guy at the front said there would not be housekeeping during our stay. If we needed more towels to put the dirty ones outside our door. We ended up using them twice.....ugh!! So would they have left clean towels on the ground outside the door?? Weird! Also, the picture of the toilet paper is all we were given for a two night stay!!

There was construction around and renovations. Staff were nice and handy man who came to try help with noisy toilet was nice and wanted to help. Noisy toilet and people in laundry next door to my room doing laundry in the middle of the night added to less comfortable night.

My stay was fine because it was in a convenient location. The check in was simple and fast no issues. But the room was another story I had to go the office immediately after check and ask for a clean bed spread for the room. I received in a timely manner but the room had no trash cans, and I didn’t receive any new towels. The bathroom walls and door were very dirty but the shower worked and had hot water. Then Saturday night there was a club next to the motel and the patrons parked in the motel parking lot and were being loud. I will definitely not stay again

The desk person was friendly but the room was atrocious. There was animal poop mashed into the floor, the bathroom mirror was broken with half of it gone, both of the rooms tvs were not working. One didnt even have an outlet to plug it into and one didnt work at all. All of the bed sheets were yellowed and stained. The rooms couch was ripped and destroyed. Overall I would not only never stay at this specific hotel ever again, but I will never stay at a Red Roof Inn ever again for the rest of my life. It was that bad.

We went for a football game. Couldn’t check in until after the game. Witness someone snorting a line off the dash of their dashboard in the parking lot. The room was horrible. Blood on bathroom walls, mold around tub, cigarette burns in bed, stains on sofa, soda spilt in the fridge, finger prints all on the window looking outside and hair stuck on the walls in the living area

The mirror was half broken in the bathroom. The couch was ripped and covered in stains. The floors were dirty. The walls and doors were dirty. The one good thing was that at least the bed looked to have been clean, and thankfully we only needed a bed to sleep in before we headed back home. If you’re looking for a nice clean place to stay, this is not one of them.

Please do not stay here. Drive to West Point or Columbus if it’s the only option left in Starkville. This was the filthiest hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Our room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a decade. Toilet had a ring in the bowl and it wasn’t bolted to the floor. Dust/dirt/grime/who-knows-what clung to all surfaces, including the soap dispenser, which was empty. Coffee maker covered in filth, but here was no coffee available, so that worked out. Towels were stained. Roach was wandering around the room. Seriously. Do not spend your money here. A one-star rating feels generous.

Nice big room with comfortable king sized bed. Room was in need of serious renovation or repairs but was very clean. Not knowing previous history, I don’t like or use multi-person dispenser care products used by this hotel and many others. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, and small coffeemaker although there were no coffee cups or products. Plenty of hot water. Surprisingly, it was quiet even though there was a busy tavern sharing the parking lot!

The good: Great shower. Probably the best shower I've ever had in a hotel. The bad: Smelled like old Chinese food. Skimped on towels. The TV didn't work. Chipped paint with dirty walls. And why double beds? Hell, just get queens in all of them. Didn't sleep worth a crap.

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever seen. Nothing in the room worked. Outlets didn’t work, the tv was not hooked up and when I hooked it up it had no signal. Holes in the walls. The ceiling was peeling and falling in the floor. The room was super dirty when I walked in.

room was comfortable and clean. Steep stairs to get to second floor so beware you have to be mobile for room 207. Nice balcony off this room. Great place to relax and unwind after the day.

Upon arriving at the hotel there were 25 plus people drinking out in the parking lot. There was a fight between six people broke out in front of our room that my two year old witnessed! When we tried to call the front desk we found out our room phone didn’t work. After calling them with our cell they said they couldn’t reach the manager and said sorry there was nothing they could do so we called 911 where the police were dispatched quickly and the situation put under control. Our room smelled damp, the blankets had stains all over them. The toilet wasn’t bolted down. There was no soap in any of the dispensers. Handles hanging off cabinetry. Wet patch’s on ceiling. Worst hotel we have ever been to.

The property was adequate as it a older facility. Housekeeping did not clean the room or empty trash the entire time we were there. Had to go to the front office to get more toilet paper and towels.

Room was clean, but needed some updating and repairs to doors and door knobs. Staff was courteous. No amenities. Parking and security lighting was adequate!

This was possibly the worst experience I have ever had. We arrived, and the lobby smelled bad. We got our key, but when we got to our room, the room was open and the lock was noticeably broken. The room had not been cleaned from the previous guests, trash was everywhere, and the bed wasn’t made. We told the check in clerk, and she called someone. I couldn’t understand their conversation. First she said they had no more rooms for our preferences. When I asked if I could have a refund, she talked to the person on the phone and then they suddenly had a room we could use. Apparently it was a “suite”. When we went to that room, it was so beat up and nasty. The furniture was gross and dirty. There were smears of who knows what on the walls. The bathroom was dirty. There was painters tape holding parts of the floor together. I felt dirty just walking into the room. We decided not to stay and had to make last minute arrangements for a place to stay. We received the “security deposit back” that they charged us once we had arrived to assure we didn’t mess up anything, but did not receive a refund for the room even though the conditions were poor and unacceptable. I have never left a review like this, and I’m typically a big people pleaser, but this place was next level awful.

Everything was great except that I left to take a co-worker to work and get breakfast. This was 730am, when I returned they had already stripped the beds gathered all the linen, even though my clothes were hanging there. I went to the office to see what/why and there was a note on the locked door saying they would return in 30 minutes. I just got my stuff from the room and left. I was going to ask that they at least discount the room but no one was there

The location of red roof inn was the best thing. The outside is not very appealing. The room itself wasn’t bad but I noticed blood or food on the sheets and I had to convince them to change them before I slept on them another night. Good thing it’s walking distance to downtown and the university and there’s a good bar in the same parking lot

This hotel is horrific. Please don’t stay here. There are dangerous people lurking in the corners, even the front desk locks their reception door for fear of attack. The rooms are uninhabitable. Everything is old, dated and unappealing. The bathroom was worse. Stained tub, shower curtain and towels. The front door has no chain in place and the lock was so weak a single thud from the outside would break it down. The neighbourhood is so noisy. There were people having a barbecue right in front of the rooms at past 12 midnight and making loud noises. I had to leave I couldn’t stay. I can’t emphasize enough please do not stay here. I’m an avid traveller who hardly leaves reviews but I feel duty bound to let my fellow travellers know about how bad and unsafe this place is. It should be shut down.

The cost is reasonable and the location is okay relative to downtown area. The linen had some strange odor; the bathroom could be cleaned better and more towels needed. and it is adjacent to a club. For the money; this is about what you would expect nowadays.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. Our daughter is in college at MSU and lives close by. This time they are doing construction which there was no heads up about. I literally had to find my way to the desk through plastic to sign in. The guy acted surprised when I said 'do I check in here?' You could not find the desk or get to it without stepping over boards, paint, wires, cords, and through plastic. There is NO SUCH thing as breakfast any of the times we have stayed, not even coffee. My son was supposed to stay with us the first time we stayed but the beds are too small for my husband and I to sleep together. My son had to stay at my daughters' apartment. There is no way the beds are full size. There is a bar on site and parking is hard upon returning from game. Not sure they check cars to make sure they are staying there or at the bar. It has never been the cleanliest but this time took the cake!! I will add pictures.....I mean how do you miss a water bottle in the floor when cleaning, someone's floss pick and the walls are so disgusting!! Also, this time there was 2 towels and 2 wash clothes and one floor mat. The guy at the front said there would not be housekeeping during our stay. If we needed more towels to put the dirty ones outside our door. We ended up using them twice.....ugh!! So would they have left clean towels on the ground outside the door?? Weird! Also, the picture of the toilet paper is all we were given for a two night stay!!

Nice big room with comfortable king sized bed. Room was in need of serious renovation or repairs but was very clean. Not knowing previous history, I don’t like or use multi-person dispenser care products used by this hotel and many others. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, and small coffeemaker although there were no coffee cups or products. Plenty of hot water. Surprisingly, it was quiet even though there was a busy tavern sharing the parking lot!

I never experience a hotel that dirty, the smell was awful the other hotels were booked that weekend. Because the students of MSU were moving in with the parents. It looked like somebody slept already on the sheets, there was only one towel. Staff an India men didn’t care at all. It surprised me that a hotel like this is on your booking site.

Dead roach on floor, hair in tub, and was not told on Hotels.com about a mandatory $100 additional deposit and staff refused to give me anything in writing that stated I would receive it back after room was checked post checkout. No receipt given and no food or breakfast.

This place is just meeee. Clean towels and sheets but don’t expect anything greatness. It’s got the job done, this is a low end la Quinta but still felt safe. The tavern parking makes it alittle difficult but is what it is. $80 for the night out the door. Again, this is what it is.
