B&B HOTEL CALAIS Coquelles Tunnel sous La Manche

Room was a lot smaller than expected as the photos are very deceptive, however, the mezzanine for smaller sleepers was a great additional to the room. Layout of the hotel was a little confusing and the signage for rooms was limited. Breakfast was good, although a little cramped due to limited space. Parking was the biggest problem as there are nowhere near enough parking spaces for the amount of rooms.

Hotel was basic but as expected - the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. The service and greeting from the staff was excellent. Free secure parking. All good for the price as a quick stopover in Calais.

The hotel itself is fine, the room is well set up for a family. Liked the upstairs space. It was clean and functional close to both the tunnel and ferry. However, it isn't in the nicest of areas and unfortunately our sat nav sent us the back way round the commercial centre were we witnessed a very unpleasant scene between some men. This was at 11pm. This distressed our daughter. This isn't the hotels fault just be aware if staying with children. The car park is in a security fence but the gate is broken car alarms were going off so we didn't feel comfortable with all the holiday stuff in the car. We didn't have a great sleep as a consequence.

Felt really safe...Police attendance (guests) was an added bonus, as was having Car parked close to room. As we have had potential trouble in area before with refugees trying to get in our vehicle. Felt doubly safe with secure compound.

Great value for money. A little different to the usual hotel experience while travelling but very practical. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities a bit aged or just not maintained intensively however this did not detract from the comfort and quality of stay. We were surprised to find there are several EV chargers (10+), although not all operational but still several to spare.

Last minute stay . But it was easy to book , friendly staff, nice clean room , no problem that I had 2 small dogs , the price for them to stay was very reasonable, the breakfast in the morning was very good , everything fresh and plenty, great selection of food The only thing that was a bit cumbersome , the hotel had no lift up to the rooms , and as someone with walking problems, it was a bit of an inconvenience.

Basically we didn’t. Before Covid we stayed at Ibis Sous La Manche by the Chunnel. Ibis has gone. We thought we were booking the same hotel. No. We arrived at this hotel. No staff. Followed instructions at a keypad. Got a room number. Entered the door. Small room with chairs on tables, shutters down at counters. How to get to the room? So opened more doors to outside and found we had to climb up concrete steps to our room. Carrying suitcases etc!!!!!!!!!! Room was very very basic. No staff anywhere. We were in isolation. NO NO NO Carried cases back to car. Drove to B&B Hotel Calais Terminal Cité de l’Europe3* our old Ibis. Booked a room with friendly staff in attendance, lift, dining facilities. Lovely. Why use the name Sous La Manche? Confusing.

Hotel bien placé, au calme, propre, personnel accueillant, souriant et sympa. Chambre propre, avec des rangements, agreable, salle de bain propre, suffisamment grande, bonne pression d'eau à la douche. Par contre points negatifs : literie peu confortable, matelas dur, très bruyant quand on bouge, les murs peu insonorisés on entend beaucoup les bruits des autres et le parking est petit.

Hotel básico pero funcional. El único pero es que con el código de reserva no abre la verja para el parking. Tienes que ir a hacer el cheking y si llueve…

Room basic but clean and tidy with everything you need including British tv channels, and the heating worked really well, bargain and close to Les shuttle.

Filthy room, no customer services. We left without staying. Never stay here, it’s disgusting

Poussiere , toile d araignée, remplissage papier wc , vétusté des rideaux . Sinon le reste etait bien et le personnel acceuillant et au service du client . Sinon emplacement ideal a proximité de tout

Property was outdated and dirty, and did not resemble how it looked in the pictures at all. Carpet was older than my kids, beds were almost as if they had been made by a handyman out of solid wood and just overall a terrible experience. Didn't feel safe and would not stay here again!

The entire building and rooms need thorough cleaning. Receptionist are very nice and helpful

The room was clean, reasonably priced with a decent breakfast spread. You do get what you pay for. The beds are not particularly comfortable and there were no extras in the room (coffee, extra towels/pillows, hair dryer, etc). We were happy they allowed late arrivals, but didn’t encounter any staff. We had a four person room and the children slept in an upstairs area, which worked out great. Not really suitable for small children, though.

We have booked this hotel for our family overnight stay before heading for ferry as it was advertised that it has an AirCon. Well it's wrongly advertised as the heater/coollers fitted in the hotel rooms are not aircon, they are very old fan heaters/coolers which have radiator inside, and pull air from outside. So if it's hot outside like in the same b&b hotels we have booked in Laval (France) where was 38 degrees outside and 28 at night there was no cool air for the fan cooler to bring and cool the room down. That night in Laval was a hell on earth, as room was extremely hot, unbearable to sleep in. So please bare this in mind when booking b&b hotels. If it's cool as it was on our return journey in Calais , the room was cool, but the fans in those heaters are very old, and not blowing very well. Beds are very hard/firm - so if you are a person who likes firm beds that will be perfect for you. Shower was good, however there were signs of mould/damp on the ceiling, and shower tray cleaned but you could tell it was very old as it had marks which could not be removed anymore, which looked like it wasn't cleaned very well. Apart of that this b&b hotel is run by a very nice and friendly couple. If there is a problem man comes and fixes it straight away. Extra towels are available on request, internet is good, customer service is great. If you book through hotels.com you don't get the reference number required for self check in, so please bear this in mind.

It was easy to check in and everything worked well. The general cleanliness was okay, I think it looked worse because the room was very run down. The room looks onto the open hallway and unfortunately a group of people spend the evening smoking outside and it drifted into the room even with the windows closed…which made the room very hot and smelly! The breakfast was ok. The person there in the morning was very friendly. It was all bearable for one night but I don’t think I would go back.

No hairdryer

Air conditioning not working properly. Hot air only even selected cold air.

Difficult to get code initially but the room was exactly what we needed apart from the air conditioning not working

The bathroom had been up- dated, which was nice. There was plenty of hot water for showers. Receptionist,he was fantastic!. The only downside was the bed. The mattress was ok,however the the base was a nightmare, every time you moved it creaked. It really does need sorted as a good night sleep is important when traveling. Hopefully, when we book in April this would be sorted (008). Definitely well worth the money for everything apart from sleep Thanks Thanks again

Very close to the tunnel, easy 24 hour check in, although we had to key in our entry number a few times to get access our room! Motel-style accommodation, with the family room having twin beds on a mezzanine above the en-suite. This meant it was hot at night and the air con didn't work properly. But it was fine for one night and very convenient for travelling through the Eurotunnel.

My daughter slipped down the stairs(in the room), causing her arm to bruise and her skin peeling (she still feels pain). I my self slipped on 2 steps but was fine. The stairs are not safe at all

Turned up and automatic check in code wouldn't work. It was 3am in the morning. No one to ring so couldn't get into hotel. Very unimpressed

No check in code sent and arrived late so couldn't check in on machine. All family stood outside in cold trying to get a code. Had to call up to get sorted in the end

Due to our vehicle breaking down we needed a place to stay while the vehicle was fixed. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful, helping us source a garage, making us feel comfortable and welcome the whole time. We found that local buses are free, so we still had opportunities to explore the area, though we loved the walking too. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Turned up after last check in due to delay on ferry and self service check in was easy to navigate and accomplish, went down for breakfast and the young man greeted us very friendly and due to my very poor French speaking skills catered to us by speaking English. 1st time being out of the country and will not hesitate to book staying here again

Gentlemen on reception was extremely helpful. The requested extra pillows were in the room. Good to have at least BBC news on tv. Great shower, plenty of hot water

Check in was challenging as we were not given the right code upon booking, it was also very automated no staff at all around so anyone above a certain age will have a difficult time trying to check in. Rooms are very small but clean. I would think twice before booking again.

A no frills hotel that is ideal for an overnight stay. Clean , comfortable and quiet. Good location in Calais for restaurants and shopping. A microwave and coffee machine available in reception

great budget hotel, ideal for the tunnel or ferries

Budget hotel. Rather grim on the outside but fine inside. No reception when we arrived so used the machine to check in and pay. However, it then referred us to reception to get our code for the room. Pointless excercise. Luckily it was during the day and not the night. Room basic and bed was comfortable. Sadly no hairdryer but I suppose that comes with budget. Clean in the main but the details could have some attention I.e the sink plug had slime underneath. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate with decent coffee. The guy on reception/breakfast was pleasant and efficient.

Good stop over on way to Spain, close to motorway. Easy access using code at check in late in evening. No lift and 4 flights of stairs to second floor. Room was clean but bed was very firm, bathroom reasonable size with excellent shower. Good air con system but a bit noisy. Breakfast was amazing witb loads of choice and good coffee. Member of staff very helpful.
