Nice hotel with good decor. In-house caterer can provide indian room-service meals which are tasty. Convenient location if driving, or a 10-20 minute walk from restaurants and shops. Parking can be very tricky during events.

No bar. Refused food as there was a function on and was told the kitchen will be too busy. As a paying guest i thought this was poor. Breakfast was strange. A 1.5 litre kettle to boil for your tea or coffee for everyone. Bottled water to fill the kettle. This would be a problem if everyone came down together. Hot dog sausages ??? Hash browns were nice. They say it is a complimentary breakfast. I think they should charge a little extra and improve the breakfast. Some bacon would be good and maybe some pastries. The saying is.."You only get what you pay for" This is true and TBF it was very cheap.

The receptionists were fantastic. Lifts were not working but managed the situation well. Breakfast was spot on. Security was also good. Very quiet also. Overall - 8/10

Venue Ideal for holding Weddings, Parties etc Just about a 3* hotel as no bar or restaurant and breakfast is minimal with a kettle to make your own coffee. I cannot fault the staff who were friendly and helpful.

The Grand Sapphire Hotel is a lovely place to stay if you are in the Croydon area. The room was pretty standard no bells and whistles, my room was well kept, had aircon and was fairly clean. I would have liked if there was a fridge, a remote for the aircon and a deep clean of the bathroom as there was some mould forming on the surfaces and on the shower head. The mattress in my room was not the best, was thin and I could feel the springs but otherwise I slept well. Unfortunately the windows and walls were not noise proof as I could hear the slamming of doors, cars driving past and other guests walking up and down the hallway which wasn’t pleasant but I got used to. I appreciated the complementary breakfast. In regards to the parking, there is an onsite car park however, it seems that those who were attending events at the venue were given preferential treatment and each time I would try to park I was met with a rude man shouting at me. luckily the other security guard allowed me to park in a free space. I think more information needs to be provided on the parking as I had read that there is parking and can’t image where I would have had to park if the nice security guard didn’t help me. The staff here were genuinely nice with a few who didn’t really make an effort to smile or say hello to me and the Asian security guard who would shout at me every-time I would try to park my car. Overall, it was an okay stay, I would consider coming again for a night or two thank you!

Double bed had a single duvet width wise. When in the bed the duvet sat chest level. When pulled feet were exposed. Sheets and pillowcase had rips and was dusty. Sheets were dirty in room.

Firstly the hotel does not respond to any emails or messages previous to check in. The room did not have an iron or hangers or enough towels, and no refrigerator. We had to ask for all of the above. The sink was cracked and the shower had mold. I wouldn't suggest staying here for more than a day If you are looking for comfort. The linens on the bed was simply a duvet and a top sheet not even a fitted sheet. Breakfast was ok, it consisted of boiled or fried eggs, yogurt, toast, cereal, mini hotdogs and beans. Supplies ran low after the first hour and wasn't replenished and you had to ask. The staff was extremely polite to their credit but I wouldn't stay there again.

The hotel is located in a industrial area, which was fine with us. They had a large gated carpark and it was free of change for hotel guest's. The staff on reception were really nice and helpful during check-in and check-out. The room was shocking, when we entered the room we noticed dirt and stains all over the sofa and the arm chair, we found many long brown hairs in our meant to be clean bed and red stains on two different walls in the bathroom, we also found old sweet wrappers next to our bed and the back of the tv remote control was missing, so the batteries kept falling out. The bed itself was very uncomfortable with the springs digging into you when trying to sleep, the carpet was old and had burn marks in some places. We did not have the breakfast the next morning because our flight was very early.

The glorious photos of the outside don’t represent the actual hotel. The hotel is positioned on an industrial estate and is pretty run down. Shower was dirty, carpets were poorly laid, bed was rock solid and walls paper thin. Personally a bad stay for me. I was woken at 5am due to the skips being moved outside my window.

Our stay was terrible. On our first night we could not sleep due to extremely uncomfortable pillows that could not be even classed as pillows. The air conditioning unit is also very load and makes the bathroom walls vibrate. Also the noise from the very busy industrial estate the hotel is based in. On the 2nd night we were kept awake until nearly 3am with a very load Television in the next room because the walls are paper thin. Overall not a very nice experience.

Dining hall and reception area beautiful but my room was very basic.Draughty window and doorframe of bathroom could do with modernising.A table next to bed would have been handy.My room also noisy with lorry business next door and events downstairs.

Staff were all warm and welcoming, and the room was nice. The aircon in the room worked very well as did the shower in the bathroom, but the only downsides were the uncomfortable pillows and the lack of soundproofing in the rooms.

We were attending a wedding in the attached centre, so booked in the hotel. Check in was ok, but the room was small, with virtually no storage. The window was broken and let in sound and a draught. There was a full cup of stale coffee on the windowsill when we drew back the curtains to expose the view of a flat roof and the air conditioning units for the hotel. On Saturday night, despite notices all around the hotel saying quiet time was from 2200-0700, we were kept awake by extremely loud music from the event centre until 23.20. The hotel is located on what seems to be an industrial estate.

On check in, I was asked for photo ID, even though I am a UK resident, which I found confusing. I asked for an additional key for my partner so that she could come and go as she pleased, this was declined, stating that they only give one key per room. This, for me, was a major inconvenience as that meant that we could not go out separately and if we did, we had to co-ordinate who was having the key and when one of us would be back to let the other person in. The breakfast in the morning was, in my opinion, not enough for I and my partner. One butter croissant left in the tray and 2 chocolate croissants left, juices nearly empty etc. Then whilst eating our breakfast, the tables and chairs around us were being broken down for another event that was happening in the same room, which made us feel rushed. We were the only table left in the room, but were left feeling that they needed us to leave the breakfast room so that they could continue to set the room up for the event happening that morning. That night, at approximately 1.00am our electricity went in our room whilst we were watching TV. There was no one at reception, so I had to leave my partner in darkness to find someone to assist us. Upon finding someone we were offered another room, but no assistance was offered with our belongings. I called reception as the heating in the new room wasn’t working and was told that someone would come to assist, no one arrived so we slept in a cold room. Overall not a great experience!

When I arrived around 22:43, I was exhausted from a long journey from Cambridgeshire to Croydon. I hoped that I would get a friendly reception and get to my room swiftly, because I had to arrive by 8am for surgery early next morning, Wednesday 20 November 2024. That was the only reason why I had to book a hotel. Usually, I go the same day, but after 1 or 2pm. Therefore, I was shocked when David at reception asked me to email my ID! I showed him my Network railcard. But he said I had to email it, and gave me a Grand Sapphire Hotel and Banqueting business card with its email address. I have never had to do that before, in more than 30 national and international trips and hotels. I made that clear in my email. Bad start. The service was better, though variable, after that. When I returned from painful foot surgery with 2 crutches and exposed bandages, I still had to ask for help. It was not automatic. Then I got help up to my room from a young woman. My room had not been cleaned. Bed not done, bin not emptied. They had only put a new bottle of water on the table, and replaced the miniature bottle of shower gel. I was appalled and reported that to a man at reception. He apologised and said he would inform management. The gentleman at the breakfast buffet the next morning, Thursday 21 November, was helpful, and brought it to my table. Overall, I definitely won’t return to, nor recommend Sapphire & Banqueting. I prefer the good and excellent service in other hotels.

The receptionists were fantastic. Lifts were not working but managed the situation well. Breakfast was spot on. Security was also good. Very quiet also. Overall - 8/10

We booked through Expedia, but first called the hotel to ensure it was pet-friendly, as it was listed so on this website, but not specified on their own. We were assured it was, and proceeded to book. We then took a pricey cab ride from the airport to this hotel, and were checked in while holding our dog; when we went to get into the elevator, the front desk attendant said we couldn't bring our dog with us... as if we should leave him somewhere? It turns out the hotel is not pet friendly, and when I explained to the front desk that we checked ahead of time, she called a manager, and neither were concerned about the misinformation, just told us we couldn't stay, and said "there's other hotels around". After 30 mins of us sitting in the lobby with our suitcases and dog, we found other accommodations, and asked if they would mind calling us a taxi. It was now a new front desk attendant, and he said he would call and that they'd cover the taxi fare, we'd just have to submit a receipt to the manager's email. We moved to our new location, emailed the receipt, received an email back that we'd hear from them soon, and then did not. After following up again, we still haven't heard anything from the managers, and it's clear they don't see a problem with how any of this was handled. Really disappointed in the lack of service here, but glad we found something better.

Nice hotel with good decor. In-house caterer can provide indian room-service meals which are tasty. Convenient location if driving, or a 10-20 minute walk from restaurants and shops. Parking can be very tricky during events.

The glorious photos of the outside don’t represent the actual hotel. The hotel is positioned on an industrial estate and is pretty run down. Shower was dirty, carpets were poorly laid, bed was rock solid and walls paper thin. Personally a bad stay for me. I was woken at 5am due to the skips being moved outside my window.

My room was next to a dumpster company, they made a lot of noise early in the morning.I could not sleep well after a long trip. Room 221 should not be rental out on Nobody…. Not even a dog! The noise is too much, especially early in the morning.

The hotel is located in a industrial area, which was fine with us. They had a large gated carpark and it was free of change for hotel guest's. The staff on reception were really nice and helpful during check-in and check-out. The room was shocking, when we entered the room we noticed dirt and stains all over the sofa and the arm chair, we found many long brown hairs in our meant to be clean bed and red stains on two different walls in the bathroom, we also found old sweet wrappers next to our bed and the back of the tv remote control was missing, so the batteries kept falling out. The bed itself was very uncomfortable with the springs digging into you when trying to sleep, the carpet was old and had burn marks in some places. We did not have the breakfast the next morning because our flight was very early.

Fantastic staff; Hotel situated in Industrial estate .Company next to hotel moving skips around .I had zero view from my room window due to a huge stack of skips.Breakfast ok.Parking provided by hotel excellent .My room was compact with all expected facilities.check in/out no problem.Hotel generally in good condition and clean and well maintained.

We stayed here as we were going to Wimbledon. There’s plenty of places to eat just a short walk away. The bus and tram to Wimbledon were quick and easy. Would stay again.

Nice hotel good staff but in industrial area which was noisy .breakfast was a buffet type and I had to ask the staff to re fill the food containers.No bacon available .yard containing skips was situated adjacent to the hotel and they were moved around from an early hour.Walls really thin I heard the occupants in the next room talking normally.

The hotel is stunning, i loved my room and the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is the complimentary breakfast was awful. It was overcooked and just not very nice. But i still enjoyed my stay and this isnt a big deal for me.

This hotel and directly outside is beautiful... It appears to be in an industrial estate area so is pretty quiet at night. We had an executive suite booked and were told upon arrival that we needed to pay £100 security fee ... This was not mentioned at the time of booking nor was it in the terms and conditions I had sent to me, they however insisted I pay it so be aware of this. The suite was nice, however our bed was hard like concrete resulting in me getting very little sleep. My daughter's put up bed was very comfortable. Included breakfast was ok, what was there was nice, a little disappointed in the hot dog sausages and no bacon, but otherwise overall it was ok.

No bar. Refused food as there was a function on and was told the kitchen will be too busy. As a paying guest i thought this was poor. Breakfast was strange. A 1.5 litre kettle to boil for your tea or coffee for everyone. Bottled water to fill the kettle. This would be a problem if everyone came down together. Hot dog sausages ??? Hash browns were nice. They say it is a complimentary breakfast. I think they should charge a little extra and improve the breakfast. Some bacon would be good and maybe some pastries. The saying is.."You only get what you pay for" This is true and TBF it was very cheap.

Venue Ideal for holding Weddings, Parties etc Just about a 3* hotel as no bar or restaurant and breakfast is minimal with a kettle to make your own coffee. I cannot fault the staff who were friendly and helpful.

Fantastic second stay here. Nice modern room, good size and clean. Had a curry in house, was great , very tasty and great value 👌 Will definitely be back again when in the area.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable and the heating worked! There were ample towels, along with tea and coffee. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of choices and included hot food. Overall, a great value for money. Would definitely stay there again.

Attended a wedding here and decided for ease, to book the night here, despite it being more expensive than other alternatives. Wish we had paid to stay elsewhere. This hotel was aweful. Room dirty, bed was like a brick, bathroom wasnt very clean, breakfast unsafe. I was over 37 weeks pregnant at the time and therefore can only sleep on my side. The bed was very uncomfortable, so I asked reception if they had a mattress topper to help, they dvised they do not. I then asked if they had any spare pillows at least, again, the useless reception staff member on duty on 2nd October advised that no, they do not have spare pillows. Worse sleep ever in a hotel. Woke multiple times during the night due to pain from the mattress digging into my hips, neck and ribs and struggled to walk the next morning due to this. Breakfast was also a disappointment. All the 'hot' food was sitting over gas burners. You walk into the breakfast room and just smell gas. You then try some of the 'hot' food and realise it is not hot at all, either cold or luke warm. This followed the same theme as the food served the night befire by the caterers at the wedding. Not really following food safety standards at all! We did mention some of this on check out as we were asked if we had a pleasant stay....receptionist joked about our comments.

My room was at the back of the hotel with a view of nothing but an air conditioner, and the constant noise was unbearable. It ruined my stay. The staff were nice, but that didn't make up for it.
