The staff was amazing, they took time time to listen to me and tried to accommodate anything we needed. If your looking for a stuffy impersonal chain resort the coachman hotel probably isn't for you. If your looking for a place that makes you feel welcome like your staying at a good friend's house with new acquaintances that drop in the coachman is for you. We loved the location, good complimentary coffee, nightly s'mores, bicycles, and fast e car charging. Probably one of the best vacation stays We can remember. Thank you Coachman hotel.

This place was remodeled nicely, I love the branding and vibe, and the amenities are nice. We took advantage of the heated pool, games in the common house, the cute bar, and complimentary s’mores by the fire pit. Location is excellent, quick walk to the lake and Heavenly village. Quiet area for the most part. Room was comfy, clean, well-designed. Shower and bathroom were very clean. Coffee and electric kettle were perfect for my first cup of coffee in the morning. My only complaint is there was not hand soap provided for the bathroom sink in the room.

Great location about 2 blocks from the main strip are. Walking distance to everything. Friendly service. Amenities were great. There was a bar service with small plates. A nice communal area inside and out. Heated pool, jacuzzi and dog friendly. Thank you. We will def be back.

We loved the location of this property. There was a private beach within walking distance where we could enjoy the lake. The staff was very nice and the smores every night were a nice treat. There was a lot of construction going on and you could tell they were doing a lot of upgrades to the property. It was difficult to find parking close to our room due to construction blocking some of the spaces in the ADA section.

Great property- good location, nice rooms, and friendly staff members. Also very dog friendly! Walking distance to lakeside beach (private beach) - stay included vouchers for the beach which are $30/per person. Note that lakeside beach is not dog friendly but Nevada beach, which is just a few mins drive away, has a small dog friendly area. The hotel has smores at night, coffee / drinks in the morning and all afternoon, and happy hour from 3-6pm (HH is $2 off wine, beer, or cocktails). The room had a lot of shelf space, and the furnishings in the bathroom were nice. We had a good view of the road from our room; it felt private and secluded. We didn’t hear any neighbors around or above us. Note that the property is several buildings , and they can be across the street. Parking was convenient right in front of our room / building. We were also in walking distance to heavenly village and did the van sickle bi-state hike. The staff members are so friendly and made the stay great! Thanks so much - we’ll be back!

This hotel is very dog, kid and fun friendly. There so many things to do, bike, swim at beach or pool, relax in the hot tub, sit by the fire pit or make s’mores, play corn hole or bocce. The hotel is a big win!

Very interactive lobby and pool area, coffee and wine options at bar/check in area, hotel had a cool vibe. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were very dark! Loved that they provided s’mores every night and yoga on the weekend!

The property was ideal for our stay, offering a very close and safe walk to the Harvey’s amphitheater, where we attended a concert. It was spotless, seemed newly renovated, and had nicely landscaped grounds. The included beach access was excellent, and we enjoyed spending time in the common areas, as well as the coffee/beer offerings at the front desk. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

Really cute hotel! The coffe/bar reception are was really cute & they offered smores every night! Had a fire pit downstairs but wished they had the upstairs fire pit too because it was always taken downstairs! Overall great stay and lots of amenities such as gym, bikes and lakeside access! Will definitely stay again

Stayed here to celebrate my 30th birthday with some friends. My friend’s reached out to see if we could have surprise decorations set up and flowers delivered to our room to which the staff agreed and said this was possible. We had decorations and flowers sent to the hotel and they left all of these items sitting at their check-in counter when we arrived. Not the end of the world but it was a little disappointing that the staff wasn’t able to complete such a simple request. The room upgrade and the complimentary bottle of champagne were appreciated but the room’s overall cleanliness and amenities left much to be desired. Found multiple stains all over our bath towels and bed sheets; tons of hair left all over the floor, bedding, and in the walk-in shower. We enjoyed how close the beach was to the hotel and that guests receive tickets for private beach access as well as the complimentary drip coffee every morning.

The hotel was not at all what it looked like in the photos. There was no working AC and the shower was covered in mold. For $400 a night there was no continental breakfast, the Apple TV did not work, no iron or even hangars if you don’t want completely wrinkled clothes. This is the most I’ve paid for a single night and definitely the most disappointing hotel.

Our new favorite place to stay! Was the cutest hotel and had very nice staff, and even gave us a free bottle of champagne! Room was quaint and cute, there were some cobwebs and stray hairs leftover in the shower which was kinda gross, but overall felt pretty clean. We parked the car and walked everywhere til we left the next day, so it's very walkable. They have events all the time too which is so cool. Will be back for sure!!

The general vibe of the hotel and shared spaces is cute. They had a free wine tasting in the bar area which we enjoyed. Coffee in the morning was quant. Downsides- our room was half cleaned (not vacuumed, hair in the shower, dirty rag on the floor, no lotions/soaps). Also our tv was broken. We were told they sent someone out twice to fix it but it was never fixed. There’s no phone to reach the front desk quickly which seems odd. We paid $300 for the room so we expected much more.

Had a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel, walkable distance to Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe. I also received free drinks as a VIP member in Expedia they offer complimentary s’mores kit, and more. Room was also very clean!

The floors had not been swept or mopped..dirty feet, bags, with children=NO. I’m glad we brought our own towels —the ones available to our room weren’t clean👀. Amenities were awesome, room was pretty small but ok for 2 kids and 2 parents. Next time I think suite or nothing.

Needs to be updated… room looks old… the tiles of the bathroom looked dirty… we got a handicapped room and we felt that we were in a nursing room… it was only a night… the staff were excellent. Location was good… we got a complimentary drink…

First, it’s not a bad hotel. The amenities seems pretty good however the hotel had hair in the shower once we arrived. The pamphlet said to download an app to get room service. App was nonexistent. Second day house keeping came however some towels weren’t taken/replaced.

Liked the location, interior and exterior design, room size, cleanliness and easy check in and check out process Here's where it went wrong: 1) strong pot smoke smell through our window every night, 2) walls and ceilings don't have proper sound insulation. We could hear people partying next door to us until 2:30 in the morning and couldn't sleep and couple arguing above us in the morning and woke us up the next morning. 3) mini fridge wasn't working 4) TV and wifi was spotty everyday.

Great proximity to Lake and Casinos. Common area with food and drink great. Staff very nice. Our room was pretty small and motel style... could use some updating but was clean and comfortable.

Second stay here, the first was when it was very new in 2017. This time with my partner for a concert, just for a night, it was just as cute and fun as I remembered. But, I just can’t give it 5* because it’s not the most comfortable. The bed was a little old and lumpy, the corners and details showed wear and tear in a few ways, and the bathroom is so narrow that you have to straddle the toilet or enter the shower just to open/close the door. The sink area is a little tight for two, but not a big deal. A great vibe and great value for the price, the bar and amenities and pool are all great, but it’s the kind of place I might be outgrowing in my 30s. A bed update and some rugs to warm up the place would go a long way. If you’re not picky on the details this place is a steal for the price, and it’s a great neighborhood to walk the area.

This hotels location was great. Was able to take a scooter into the main area of town also had private beach access which was a plus. The only downside for me was the rooms were so dim. Even with every light on it felt so dark. I couldn’t keep the curtain open to let light in because our room was on the 2nd floor and I felt like everything was visible. The black out windows were great in the mornings, just wished there was a lighter curtain I could have used during day time.

We stayed in a standard room one night and it was just okay. The sub par experience was the noise from other rooms. It’s not well insulated so you can hear when anyone walks around above or on the same level. That being said, everything was clean and well stocked. The bed was kinda falling apart on one side which made it uncomfortable for one side of the bed. I would stay here again but not at a higher rate ($120/night).

Excellent manager…he upgraded us for free when we expressed that we weren’t happy with our room..he was so accommodating…the staff are excellent there! Free wine tastings in the afternoons! Pool and hot tub were amazing…the bare and outdoor seating are connected so it is very relaxing you can stroll in and out ..open concept…Adirondack chairs with fireside seating all day… Free s’mores every night ! Awesome stay!

In a few words, they treated me like royalty. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I had a small problem with my room, which they solved by upgrading me to a suite. It was simply amazing. The bar is very nice, and they make a great espresso. This trip was a solo vacation focused on photography. Next time I come to South Lake Tahoe with my family we will stay here again. I highly recommend the Coachman.

Ben and his team were extremely welcoming and continued the hospitality throughout our stay. The hotel common areas and rooms are beautiful and fun to be in, however it truly was the staff that made our stay memorable and will be the reason we stay here again.

The hotel was okay. Would I stay here again? Probably not. The room was not as cleaned. We didn’t have extra towels and so forth. Nor did the tv work. We called the front and no answer a few times. Hal at the front cafe Saturday morning, upon opening didn’t seem in a good mood. Tall blonde lady. Not sure if we would rate this a great hotel. Not satisfied unfortunately. If you need a lance to maybe sleep for a few hours and leave then yes I would recommend.

The hotel allowed us to check in early which was nice, but I had twin 5 year old boys with me and they tried to put me in a room that was in the furthest part of the hotel and still under construction so tons of loud nice all day long, they allowed me to switch to a more appropriate room that was clearly available from the beginning so why they did that I don't know. They also double charged me for my stay and NO ONE has followed up with me yet about that despite multiple calls. A small child from another group got hurt and was bleeding and 3 women sat behind the desk and ignored the mother who was looking for a first aid kit until she finally interrupted them. It was like this all the time- the free coffee was always empty or the cream was out- they really couldn't seem to keep up with the flow. They also never gave me directions to the beach or were very helpful. It was well located, had a great beach and amenities- the staff just needs a total overhaul on training or they need to hire more people. I overheard another guest say his room was never cleaned in his entire 7 day stay, my room also missed at least one cleaning. It's got a lot of great things about it- it just needs to be dialed in a lot better.

READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT SERVICE!! The service and staff here are absolutely horrible. The walls are so thin, every footstep sounds like it’s in your room. Hoping management can review the following: Our check in was late, lacked any hotel information, and they forgot to give us our included beach passes (which we only found out about when we WENT to the beach and had to walk back to the hotel to retrieve them… a saving of $60/day) The staff behind the reception desk/bar were absolutely USELESS. They were disingenuous, lacking simple customer service skills and hotel information… one told us to re-fill the hot water container ourselves if we wanted tea…another refused to give us our VIP Expedia perks (2 drinks per stay and a bottle of champagne, which we had in writing on our reservation) and she insisted that my perk was not valid because they “changed their policy”..it was not until I contacted Expedia and asked for the managers name (Benjamin) that she gave it to us. There should be a dedicated receptionist who can handle these things and isn’t also a bartender to reduce guest confusion. Honestly, HE is the only one who cares about the property and guests. He was friendly but left doing the work that his staff should be doing (ex: cleaning up deck)…he needs to hire better staff instead of hipsters who think they’re too cool to be hospitable in the hospitality industry. I was prepared to give this review a 1/5…this place WILL suffer if you keep those employees around.

Walkable to the Gondola. Very convenient. My children loved their evening S'mores and endless supply of hot cocoa. Friendly staff. Love the vibe! And we love our King Suite. Thank you everyone at Coachman. We will be back :)

The property was ideal for our stay, offering a very close and safe walk to the Harvey’s amphitheater, where we attended a concert. It was spotless, seemed newly renovated, and had nicely landscaped grounds. The included beach access was excellent, and we enjoyed spending time in the common areas, as well as the coffee/beer offerings at the front desk. We’re already looking forward to coming back.

Very fun vibe. Clean rooms and nice pool and lobby. The in room coffee didn’t get stocked each day and they ran out. Also the construction was a little crazy and so was parking. Would stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this super chic hotel. Room was clean and renovated. The reception and common areas were super cozy and inviting. We especially enjoyed happy hour and the hot spa to wind down a long day of skiing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. 10 out of 10!

My mom, dog, and I stayed at the Coachman Hotel over Mother’s Day weekend and had such a wonderful experience! From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with warmth and kindness—special thanks to Kayla at the front desk, who was so helpful and welcoming. Check-in takes place at the bar, which is a unique and fun touch. Since we brought our dog, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a little welcome bag just for her! The property is split across both sides of the road and is in a fantastic location—just a short walk to the beach. The rooms are spotless, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with no carpet (a big plus!), a cute little balcony, and convenient in-room amenities like a water kettle and drip coffee. It was also very quiet, which made for a relaxing stay. We loved the little extras that made our stay feel special. Each evening, the hotel hosts complimentary s’mores by the fire pit near the check-in area—such a cozy and nostalgic experience (you might even spot a raccoon visitor!). In the morning, they offer complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. For breakfast, we had the pancakes and yogurt parfait—both were delicious and reasonably priced. There’s also plenty of outdoor seating on the balcony, which is perfect for enjoying your meal. We also appreciated the fun selection of board games available at the front desk that guests can take to their rooms. Lastly, check-out was just as pleasant—Chelsea was so kind and made the process quick and easy.

Had a great stay here. Really appreciated that they have their own parking lot and there is no additional parking fee. The lobby/cafe area and outdoor seating were awesome for relaxing in the evening. Loved having a cafe and bar onsite with food options, really made things easy for our trip. The coffee is delicious and there is an awesome beer/wine selection. We had a short stay and didn’t get to enjoy the perks like bikes and private beach but liked that it was included with our stay. Our room was clean and simple. I do wish some more vanity items were offered like shower cap since I forgot mine. Overall, recommend this hotel.

We booked this room for our first family trip to South Lake Tahoe with our toddler. We appreciated being allowed to check in about an hour early, but unfortunately, the rest of our stay was disappointing. Our room was on the ground floor and did not have a balcony. There was approximately a half-inch gap beneath the exterior door where daylight was clearly visible. Because of this, headlights shined into the room when cars pulled up, and we could smell exhaust fumes inside when guests left their vehicles running while loading or unloading. The room also did not have a bathtub, which made bathing a toddler difficult. The painted concrete floors were extremely cold and did not appear to stay very clean—our toddler prefers not to wear shoes indoors, and the bottoms of her feet would quickly become black from walking on the floor. I personally asked for additional washcloths but was brought hand towels instead, which we made work. We also found that housekeeping began rolling carts and cleaning around 8:30 a.m., so sleeping in or having a quiet morning was difficult. While we appreciated the early check-in, overall this room was not a good fit for a family traveling with a young child, and unfortunately, we would not choose to stay here again.
We booked this room for our first family trip to South Lake Tahoe with our toddler. We appreciated being allowed to check in about an hour early, but unfortunately, the rest of our stay was disappointing. Our room was on the ground floor and did not have a balcony. There was approximately a half-inch gap beneath the exterior door where daylight was clearly visible. Because of this, headlights shined into the room when cars pulled up, and we could smell exhaust fumes inside when guests left their vehicles running while loading or unloading. The room also did not have a bathtub, which made bathing a toddler difficult. The painted concrete floors were extremely cold and did not appear to stay very clean—our toddler prefers not to wear shoes indoors, and the bottoms of her feet would quickly become black from walking on the floor. I personally asked for additional washcloths but was brought hand towels instead, which we made work. We also found that housekeeping began rolling carts and cleaning around 8:30 a.m., so sleeping in or having a quiet morning was difficult. While we appreciated the early check-in, overall this room was not a good fit for a family traveling with a young child, and unfortunately, we would not choose to stay here again.
