I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that the room was 2 floors - lounge and bath/shower downstairs and bedroom upstairs. The bathroom was very spacious with plenty of toals, soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. Bonus point for having an iron and ironing board in the room. Everything was wonderfully clean. The free wifi was plenty fast enough for me to get some work done with, handy it was there as i had no mobile internet signal (phone signal was good enough to make calls on though) The pub itself was lovely. Staff were friendly and the beer went down a treat. Considering the breakfast was a fairly cheap add-on i was expecting continental but not only did i get offered cereals etc i also had a really nice full english. All in all a great stay, i will definitely be staying here again for my next visit down that way!

Always lovely to stay here, the most amazingly friendly country pub, with wonderful food. Stay for business few times a year cant fault it. they even go the extra mile by coming in early so we can have breakfast earlier than normal due to 8am meetings. Stay wonderful, and definitely give this place a try (even if its just for food and the ambiance).

Wonderful one night stay prior to a cruise. Room very clean and bed extremely comfortable. Ate dinner and breakfast, both meals were delicious and dinner prices ( and drinks) were reasonably priced. Special thanks to Wendy and Richard for looking after us well. Will definitely book again.

We had just one night here over the Coronation bank holiday weekend. Pretty location, with a church next door and lovely surrounding countryside. The room was very small but that wasn't the issue - it was more about the cleanliness or rather lack of it. Scuff marks on the walls, cobwebs around the room. Even the drawers and bottom of the wardrobe were not clean so we chose not to use these. The floor in the room was particularly dirty, as was the entrance hall. There were complimentary toiletries and small bottles of water, plus a hairdryer and iron/ironing board provided. Staff were courteous and gave us top-ups for the tea/coffee making tray, plus fresh milk. The bedding was clean and the bathroom towels were thick and fluffy. However, the towels had a greasy (pub kitchen) smell to them. Our evening meal in the pub was good. Breakfast wasn't as enjoyable. We didn't raise any concerns during our stay as we knew it was a flying visit. But we certainly wouldn't stay here again.

Very nice place to stay, was here for business but definitely a nice destination for a getaway, I would return with my wife. Unexpectedly the double room was effectively a mini suite, with its own lounge, was impressed to have a good size shower and bath in the bathroom. Everything was clean, the staff were friendly and the food was very tasty!

Everything is excellent! The room is beautifully equipped, with superbly comfortable bed, brilliant shower, decent size bath and good Wi-fi. All staff in the pub were friendly and served us with good humour at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food was brilliant (we ate there every night). Location was just what we were after, small village with no shops, but easy driving distance from larger centres. Plenty of walking trails nearby. Highly recommended.

Very friendly locals from as soon as we drove up the side road. Highly recommend for room and food, 10/10 Room was great with bathroom and sitting room on ground floor, bathroom very spacious eith bath and very powerful seperate shower cubicle. With large double bed upstairs. Can’t fault staff at hotel at all, from checking in, to service at bar and restaurant . Very friendly and accommodating. Dinner was lovely, chicken Kiev was huge and lovely and the steak and ale pie was probably the best pie I have ever had full of juicy and well cooked meat. Prices in restaurant very reasonable. Bar prices also good and a wide selection of lager, ales and cider. Thanks to everyone at the white lion, we will return. Shout out also to the lay preacher who stopped for a chat whilst going to the church to lock up, what a lovely man.

Great one night stay after attending a wedding in the area. Well appointed room, in adjoining stable block, with bottled water, comfy bed and great shower. Lovely breakfast. We were also given a courtesy call on the day to check we were still coming as we were at the wedding. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff and the food were standout. In fact, food was really really good. Our room was lovely and excellent value. We stayed for a visit to Hambledon Vineyard which was also fab.

Everything is excellent! The room is beautifully equipped, with superbly comfortable bed, brilliant shower, decent size bath and good Wi-fi. All staff in the pub were friendly and served us with good humour at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food was brilliant (we ate there every night). Location was just what we were after, small village with no shops, but easy driving distance from larger centres. Plenty of walking trails nearby. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff and the food were standout. In fact, food was really really good. Our room was lovely and excellent value. We stayed for a visit to Hambledon Vineyard which was also fab.

Absolute gem of a find in a beautiful part of Hampshire we only live 50 mins away but where at an event at the local Hambledon Vinyand did not want to drive home - so glad we made that decision and returning in July and will be a drive out to eat place in the future

Very comfy bed. Superb shower, luxury towels. The food in restaurant was excellent. Starter Fish platter to share a great choice and chicken Kiev very tasty. Can see why it is a popular place to eat. Staff friendly and helpful. Good well cooked produce at breakfast. Soberton is a lovey quiet village worth a walk around to see church and the views.

Wonderful one night stay prior to a cruise. Room very clean and bed extremely comfortable. Ate dinner and breakfast, both meals were delicious and dinner prices ( and drinks) were reasonably priced. Special thanks to Wendy and Richard for looking after us well. Will definitely book again.

Always lovely to stay here, the most amazingly friendly country pub, with wonderful food. Stay for business few times a year cant fault it. they even go the extra mile by coming in early so we can have breakfast earlier than normal due to 8am meetings. Stay wonderful, and definitely give this place a try (even if its just for food and the ambiance).

Overnight stay for my wife and I. Our accommodation was excellent in lovely setting and very comfortable. Dinner was great, well presented and terrific staff who were very helpful. Breakfast equally good

The room was modern, new, clean and of a reasonable size, shower /wc room was good with a large shower, overall very comfortable. The staff and owners were all friendly, efficient and helpful at all times. The breakfast whilst appearing to be a little limited, you could have almost whatever you wanted, very flexible. The restaurant was very good (perhaps the choice could be extended slightly) with meals of a high standard and with good service. The location whilst in a village is excellent for visiting surrounding attractions (Portsmouth, Beaulieu, Arundel, etc) Overall we had an excellent 5 night stay and will definitely consider returning
