The Staybridge Suites was easy to find and conveniently located between downtown Des Moines and the Iowa State Capitol. Check-in was friendly and efficient. Parking was available in the multi-storey car park next door for $20 per night. My room was a good size, with modern décor and a useful kitchenette area. The reception staff were also very helpful in directing me to the nearby pickup point for the shuttle bus to the Iowa State Fair. The impressive State Capitol is well worth visiting and only a 10–15-minute walk from the hotel. The surrounding area was very quiet during my stay, although this was on a Sunday evening. There were plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, but most were largely deserted that evening. Breakfast was served downstairs and offered a good selection of both hot and cold items. Overall, this was a peaceful and convenient place for an overnight stay in Des Moines. I am not sure there would be enough in the immediate area to occupy me for more than a couple of nights, but it suited my visit very well.

The room was great the only thing was the noise from refrigerator kept us up. It needs to be replaced. It was also warm in the room even with the air conditioner on The morningbreakfast was great. Psrking was goodand the staff was very pleasant. .

The bathroom sink was clogged, toilet roll was almost empty when we just got there and breakfast was so bad! No food, no waffle mix and not even any coffee. Highly disappointed for the price, as we had to go off site and pay for breakfast when it should have been included.
