Jana, at the front desk, was very welcoming and personable when checking in. She told me about the complimentary sauna and cold plunge by Ember and Ice that is on the property. The experience was fabulous! Everything in the room was clean except for the sheets. They didn’t seem fresh, so I asked for a new set and received them immediately. This is the second time I have stayed here and I love this little motel and location. The views are gorgeous and you can’t beat the park, creek and mountains just feet away! Everyone was really nice throughout my stay.

I liked how close it was to the mountains and Boulder Creek, without being too far away from tourist destinations like Pearl St and the University. Plus, the sauna company behind the motel is very convenient.

Altho this place is older, it was perfect and the staff was very nice. She had bikes for rent, the park, bikepath, and river were right there. We rented scooters each night to go to dinner. We had a great stay.

Beautiful and comforting option to stay literally at the foot of the mountain. Love the charming cabins and quiet privacy. Perfect place to stay if you want to be in the edge of Boulder. Dog friendly. Perfect place to recharge after day hikes.

Everything was excellent except the parking situation. We were in room 18 and our spot was in an awkward corner. If someone parked in the spot behind us (the $10/night parking), it was a struggle to get out. Thankfully we had rented a small car so it wasn't a big issue and we could finagle our way out. With that being said, that definitely won't stop us from returning to this hotel in the future.

Great little motel at the foot of Boulder Canyon. Easy walk to Pearl Street, and right on the Boulder Creek Path. Rooms are clean and quaint, but a little dated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a hot tub, but only for guests staying in suites. Breakfast is included and was a nice addition. Overall a nice place, and we would definitely stay again.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The sauna and cold plunge were nice to use in the morning after a run along the rapids which are 10 steps out the front door. Super clean, AC was nice and cold, plus the breakfast was great after hiking the night before. The next time I’m here I’ll be booking with Foot of the Mountain no doubt

I was in the area to hike and visit family. Very basic and rustic but clean. The location was great, close to everything and a beautiful park across the street. We didn't have time for the sauna. Hopefully next time. Parking was easy

This place is soooo darn cute. I love thecold styles and old red phone, but then it has everything you need inside (except a tiny bit more room where the king sized bed is.) Loved the Private patio with the hot tub and grill you share with the room next door. Plenty of shops and food choices nearby if you need them and they're close. I might just come back even when I live in Colorado to enjoy it again.

A very old motel that doesn’t look like it’s being maintained. Very dirty inside and out, you’re scared to touch anything. Thin walls - you can hear people behind the wall talking. Many things inside the room broken and run down. Lots of bugs and flies in the room, we were fighting them all evening and still woke up with bite marks. The two positives are the staff and the location.

Could be cleaner. The room smelled liked cigarettes and the bath tub was stained. The sheets were stained. But that’s okay, we had a really good time and the area was so beautiful, it was a nice stay and I would definitely come back.

Property is located in nice, quiet area, near a park and stream and is super quaint on the outside. But once inside, it smelled stale and was quite dated and didn’t feel very clean when we stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. I found several small dead bugs and killed a couple small spiders when there. The hot tub was nice and freshly cleaned and refilled for our stay but shared a porch with another room, which wasn’t expected or presented in photos. Breakfast was meh, but the staff was great and very kind and accommodating. They were the best part! Overall it was a fine experience but I wouldn’t stay there again.

I stayed one weekend night here in the winter. The property and the cabins are cute. However, they did not provide adequate bedding for the winter months and the shower curtain liner was aged, yellowed and stained. Needs to be replaced. Hair dryer was also broken and didn’t work.

The motel is in a perfect location. Right off of Boulder Creek. There is a park along Boulder Creek right across the street and easy access to the Red Rocks Trail of Boulder that goes through some really neat rock formations. The motel is very rustic. It was built in 1933 and probably has the original wood paneling. While I have no complaints about the main room (with beds (which were comfortable) and desk, the bathroom needs help. Our sink was stopped up, took forever to drain. The tub/shower surround and tub/shower were dirty. And the tub/shower surround very definitely needed to be replaced, or at least re-caulked. The shower pressure however was great and the water did not pool while taking a shower.

This is a rustic motel and by that standard it’s an excellent one. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location near a park and walking trails. Great value. Would stay here again.

This place is adorable and in such an amazing location, but the thin walls make it a nightmare for light sleepers like myself :( I wish I could report differently! I could hear the entire conversations of the people next door to me (as in it felt like they were in the same room), including being woken up at 3:30am when they got home and talked / moved around their room for the next hour. If FOTMM are somehow able to fix this there will be no stopping this hotel, it's truly special!

Cute layout. Very spacious. Privacy was not as expected. Could not open the windows for fear of the dog and men behind our room, who had a tent setup for the Fire and Ice service sauna. I was not able to enjoy solitude because of the talking up until 9 pm. Bummer. The GFI outlet in the bathroom stopped working. Had to use the ONE outlet by the bed above the fridge. Bummer. Parking was hard. Thank goodness we had a small Crosstrek rental. Bummer. Lady in the lobby through a fit over polital views. That was a total BUMMER. However, The trails were top rating, and even though all the negatives were explained, I think I would still come back.

The rooms and the motel in general are like mountain cabins -- knotty pine and cozy. The motel is a mile from downtown, an easy walk, and there are terrific hiking paths just across the street. The staff is very friendly and the vibe in general is homey and relaxed.

This is an old motel, so you do sacrifice space and convenience for charm. The location is great, especially if you have a dog as there is a beautiful park across the street. There are no coffee makers in the standard rooms and the breakfast did not start until 7:00….a big minus for me. The rooms are small, but the bed was comfy. TV was old school….no cable. If I stayed there again I’d get a suite!

Great base camp for exploring the mountains near Boulder. Great for the price! Heaters in the rooms are a bit loud but to be expected for buildings this old.

The motel is a must stay of you are in Boulder! The rustic atmosphere was very unique and very Boulderesque. The rooms have all wood interior and have the look of vintage appliance (fridge and phone). The paint was peeling in areas on the ceiling in the room, but other than that I was a great stay and will definitely be back!!

The setting is beautiful. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The location is across the street from a beautiful creek/park and extensive trail system. The outside grounds would be good if it would have been warmer. Breakfast was very comfortable and adequate.

This is the second time I have stayed here and I love this little motel and location. The views are gorgeous and you can’t beat the park, creek and mountains just feet away! Everyone was really nice throughout my stay.

We've stayed twice within the year and we absolutely love it more every time. The city of Boulder is so incredible, the staff is always so friendly and caring of their guests. Right at the mouth of the canyon, so scenic and peaceful. 10/10

Sweet property, tucked in the mountains, easy access to everything but quiet. It has a wonderful old world charm. The staff were really amazing - friendly and helpful! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Patti and Jeremy

I love this motel. It has gotten significantly more expensive over the years but it’s still amazing. The MOST COMFORTABLE SOFA BED!! I know, crazy! And the queen bed was equally fabulous. Boulder Creek is just across the street. New ownership seems very involved & local. Now the BAD NEWS: There was a water leak that resulted in 2 of my 4 days being without water for 4-6 hours during the day. I’m from a southern city with frequent ‘boil water’ advisories, so I could deal with it. It’s Boulder; just get patchouli. When I went to speak with someone about a really late checkout, I was met with defiance & attitude. I work at a Forbes 4 diamond hotel, so I know what I was asking for but was surprised by the quickness of negativity. I paid over $1000 for 4 nights & was unable to receive Grace & accommodation when I needed it. I’ll return, of course!!

Loved the location by Boulder Creek! Lots to do within walking distance (park, creek, hikes, walk to Pearl Street, sauna and cold plunge on site). Great staff! Friendly and offered great suggestions for restaurants and activities. The Foot of the Mountain motel has a special historic charm. It’s a unique, cozy cabin-like lodging. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Jeremy and Hailey for making our stay so enjoyable and giving us customized suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed your “Boulder-experience” tips! The only constructive comment we have is to provide additional blankets. The blankets on the bed were thin and didn’t keep us warm through the night.

We loved our night at the Foot of the Mountain Motel. It was exactly what I hoped it would be and was a very comfortable place to stay with my husband and two young teens. We dipped in the creek, took our breakfast out back to watch the bunnies and birds, and walked to Pearl Street for dinner. The customer service was the best part though - old-fashioned, kind, responsive, and friendly. My husband and I both felt like we were staying at grandma's house. So cozy, comfortable, and sweet. We will definitely be back!

Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Beautiful location at the foot of the mountain and adjacent to a park and Boulder Creek. Trailheads are a few minutes walk and walkable to Pearl Street Mall.

The motel is in a perfect location. Right off of Boulder Creek. There is a park along Boulder Creek right across the street and easy access to the Red Rocks Trail of Boulder that goes through some really neat rock formations. The motel is very rustic. It was built in 1933 and probably has the original wood paneling. While I have no complaints about the main room (with beds (which were comfortable) and desk, the bathroom needs help. Our sink was stopped up, took forever to drain. The tub/shower surround and tub/shower were dirty. And the tub/shower surround very definitely needed to be replaced, or at least re-caulked. The shower pressure however was great and the water did not pool while taking a shower.

It was a wonderful stay with great staff! The room was cozy and beds comfortable. You can walk to Pearl Street, there’s a bike path and hiking trails nearby. I really liked the grassy area behind the hotel that was quite relaxing. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Foot of the Mountain for a memorable time!

We arrived and they were patching parking lot so parked across street-the bathroom floor is rotting out and there were ants. The cabin was small and you could not walk around bed. For breakfast coffee was good and then it was fruit and toast only. On the plus side the creek across street was beautiful.

It was the most reasonably priced accommodation in Boulder and close to center of town. Patti and friends in the office were on top of things and friendly. Breakfast was good with healthy options. Could add some yogurt. Beds were comfortable but not enough warmth, had to ask for more blankets and other customers felt the same. The motel is very old and had lots of cabin type character. I would stay there again. They also had an added separate added sauna which had a plunge bath and informative young men encouraging those a little hesitant. Across the small street is the small river that runs through Boulder. Lovely to sit there with coffee.

Second stay here. Great for day trips up to Eldora. Also a nice 15 minute walk to all the action on Pearl St. staff is friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast spread was appreciated. Simple but convenient. Will def stay here again!

At first I gave this motel 2 stars. After the reply I received, I downgraded it to 1 star. It is an old, historic hotel. The lighting in the room was so dark and yellow, I had to use my flashlight to get things from my suitcase. The room had deodorant and an open package of razors from a previous guest. The room had obviously not been cleaned. Rooms have no microwave or coffee maker. No warm blankets. The breakfast was cold, packaged muffins and cold cereal with bagels. No microwave to warm anything up. The orange juice was rancid as was the milk. The coffee was just hot water. We got a better breakfast at a gas station down the road. The views are beautiful. You can walk over to a hiking trail.

Staff were helpful and accomondating when we had to arrive very late due to flight delay. Breakfast was filling and they had hard boiled eggs. The room didnt have a hairdryer, but it was nice to stay at a local property rather than a generic chain hotel.

Clean and comfortable cabins, just needs some updating here and there. A microwave in the cabin would also make the stay more enjoyable. Can’t beat the location, right along hiking trails that leads to Pearl Street Mall and the university.

The staff were very friendly. The bed was clean and well made. The carpets were stained and the room was dusty. The lights were dim which gave the room a dark appearance.. The bathroom needed renovating and new towels. The breakfast was minimal it is in a great location across from the river and town was not too far away. There were no extra amenities except a few picnic tables and very good WiFi The place looks really cute and could be amazing with some renovations. The price was too much for what you got.
