This is a really beautiful property. Close to all the restaurants and hikes. I was just there and hiked Whiteface Mt with my wife. I highly recommend this place. Especially because you’ll make new friends when they have a firepit outside

Friendly staff and great price affordable . Closer to lake placid and other scenic spots. They have restaurant on site open on Monday-Tuesday and grilled burgers were awesome, especially the vegan .

Excellent stay! Very flexible in supporting hikers - grab and go breakfast made the night before. A banana would make a nice addition. The pizza on Saturday was amazing! Friendly and helpful owners!

Charming family run place to stay. Unfortunately the unrelenting rain prevented our enjoying the fire pit and lawn games. A river runs way behind the property and the beautiful sound was an unexpected bonus.

Check in was smooth and we had the cookies in the welcome bag! The room was tidy and the window backs onto the river behind. Breakfast grab bags were great for quick mornings before heading off on adventures. Fire pit both nights and got to meet other travellers there also. Was a great place to stay with rustic vibes! You definitely need a vehicle to get around in the area though there’s not a lot within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!

My girlfriend and I LOVED this place. It's not the Marriot or some chain, so it's a bit unique and has quirks, and that's why it's awesome. The room was small but comfortable, the bed very comfy. There was no TV in the room, which I really liked. Great shower. Outside there was a little deck with chairs so we could relax, listen to the Ausable River and look at the lovely grounds. There was also a restaurant area (closed while we were there) that we could sit in for meals or just to hang out. Cool decorations everywhere (and a TV, if you really needed one). And a small game room with foosball, pingpong and a pool table. Fire pit with chairs. Oh, and they provided a nice bagged breakfast with an egg, granola bar, orange, juice box -- basically a good hiking snack. And the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The packed breakfast is cute! And the little common dinning area is also cute and very quiet. The playroom is awesome, played some pool, ping pong and foosball! The Au Sable river running behind the property is also beautiful.

The Inn is comfortable and well run although we met no one from the team. They are still on Covid mode. The Inn is in dear need of renovation and is running a fumes of past glory. Each room has ear plugs so that we are not bothered by our neighbours. We can easily hear everything going on next door. There is also a strong smell of "humidity" in the rooms and I encountered bed bugs in my carpet. Finally, the WIFI is very spotty and not working very well. It' s a good excuse to read that book you've put off for so long. This is the type of lodging you would stay if there is nothing else available.

The inn is kind of ramshackle. We stayed in "Wilderness." The private bathroom had been updated (though the workmanship was rough), but the rest of the room was just old and worn. We realized that we should have brought food to cook for breakfast after seeing the paper bag breakfast provided (need a hearty breakfast before a big hike.) There was coffee in the lobby in the morning but with a sign not to fill large cups, so maybe go to Stewart's if you like more than a 12 oz cup. I will find a better option for my next trip to the Adirondacks.

Room was very comfortable but paint was peeling and was a bit worn. Walls very thin so could hear talking from other rooms.Unfortunately we tried to go to restaurant but it was very crowded at 530pm so we went somewhere else, it looks nice! Check in was easy and everyone so nice .I would stay again but probably try for the lodge or end room , it would help to have a Keurig or coffee maker in room.PERFECT location for high peaks hiking !!! Cute fireplace outside and swing !!! People so NICE !!!

We had a great time at the ADK Trail Inn. It was probably one of the most unusual stays we've ever had at a hotel. It is the off season and we were the only guests, which made it very quiet -- our favorite thing in the world. Amy, the owner informed us in advance that this would be the case, and we did not find it problematic. The ADK Inn is older, but very clean and homey. It is in beautiful Upper Jay, which has a very remote feel, but is still really close to Keene, Keene Valley, and all the trails. The brown bag breakfast was sufficient to sustain us on our hikes, and the coffee was delicious and ready for us really early in the morning. We had a power outage on one of the days, when I needed the Internet for a podcast. Amy immediately addressed this issue for us on very short notice and made a private room available at the owner's other property. We also met Wayne, who was equally kind and welcoming. This was an excellent experience at a very reasonable price. We highly recommend it!

Overall comfortable relaxed room in the inn. Had a somewhat unusual dusty smell at first, but room was clean. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend as your base for a hiking trip or exploring the area.

Great location at an affordable price for the area, was a great location, great breakfast spot and dinner spot right down the road, close to whiteface, lake placid, & saranac, also close to Keene. Pretty quiet area near a river, also has a rec room but no TVs in the room.

I was ready for rustic and understood the emails that we received before arrival but I guess the 8.8 Expedia rating had my expectations too high. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the ac worked but that was about it.. we knew there was no tv and we were excited to have a campfire but even though there was plenty of wood, there was no kindling, paper, matches or lighter and we didn’t want to drive 10 mins to get any so we thought we’d play cards in the room but the lighting is so poor we had a hard time seeing once the sun went down so we settled for streaming something to watch on our phone but the wifi kept cutting out every 10 mins. So we thought we’d just have a drink before turning in but there is no ice on the premise so we had a luke warm drink and turned in really early… not really an 8.8 experience….

We had a great stay at this property. It was clean, comfortable and well situated for our hiking needs. The staff was fantastic and it was fun to sit by the fire in the evening.

We loved our stay at the ADK Trail Inn! It's rustic in all the right ways. I deeply appreciated the several emails I received from the owners - first, making sure we had the right expectations about our stay (it's not just another chain hotel) and then later sending us a list of "things to do" ideas. And I very much liked the low-contact check-in, breakfast, and check-out. We stayed in the Daybreak room, which is in the same building as the office, and has magnificent pine walls and vaulted ceiling. This large room has a B&B vibe with found furniture, quilt on the bed, and an AC unit in the window and a fan on the dresser. Additionally, this room also has a shared living room space, which would be fun if you're traveling in a group or with a family. All of it extremely clean! Much, much more so than most chain hotels. The breakfast is packed in a paper bag, and all the foods chosen with the hiker in mind. As someone who is dairy sensitive, I appreciated the non-dairy creamer options for my coffee. We'll definitely visit again!

A perfect little inn that I'll definitely be coming back to. Clean, comfortable, affordable, homey, all the amenities I need, convenient parking, easy check in/out, great location- close enough to most any hike in the area. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating. I needed to study for an exam a night and they accomodated me in the restaurant, checked on me, made sure amI was comfortable and even left the lights and ac on for me when they closed up. The room was very comfortable and the place nice and quiet so you sleep well. Definitely recommend staying here!

It is the off season and we were the only guests, which made it very quiet -- our favorite thing in the world. It is in beautiful Upper Jay, which has a very remote feel, but is still really close to Keene, Keene Valley, and all the trails. The brown bag breakfast was sufficient to sustain us on our hikes, and the coffee was delicious and ready for us really early in the morning. We had a power outage on one of the days, when I needed the Internet for a podcast. Amy immediately addressed this issue for us on very short notice and made a private room available at the owner's other property. We also met Wayne, who was equally kind and welcoming. Great location at an affordable price for the area, was a great location, great breakfast spot and dinner spot right down the road, close to whiteface, lake placid, & saranac, also close to Keene. Pretty quiet area near a river, also has a rec room but no TVs in the room.

This is a really beautiful property. Close to all the restaurants and hikes. I was just there and hiked Whiteface Mt with my wife. I highly recommend this place. Especially because you’ll make new friends when they have a firepit outside

Check in was smooth and we had the cookies in the welcome bag! The room was tidy and the window backs onto the river behind. Breakfast grab bags were great for quick mornings before heading off on adventures. Fire pit both nights and got to meet other travellers there also. Was a great place to stay with rustic vibes! You definitely need a vehicle to get around in the area though there’s not a lot within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!

The inn is kind of ramshackle. We stayed in "Wilderness." The private bathroom had been updated (though the workmanship was rough), but the rest of the room was just old and worn. We realized that we should have brought food to cook for breakfast after seeing the paper bag breakfast provided (need a hearty breakfast before a big hike.) There was coffee in the lobby in the morning but with a sign not to fill large cups, so maybe go to Stewart's if you like more than a 12 oz cup. I will find a better option for my next trip to the Adirondacks.

We ate our thoughtfullly prepared brown bag breakfast by the rushing, boulder lined river and it was serene! We’d be back here in a heartbeat ! Take it all in!

Room was very comfortable but paint was peeling and was a bit worn. Walls very thin so could hear talking from other rooms.Unfortunately we tried to go to restaurant but it was very crowded at 530pm so we went somewhere else, it looks nice! Check in was easy and everyone so nice .I would stay again but probably try for the lodge or end room , it would help to have a Keurig or coffee maker in room.PERFECT location for high peaks hiking !!! Cute fireplace outside and swing !!! People so NICE !!!

My girlfriend and I LOVED this place. It's not the Marriot or some chain, so it's a bit unique and has quirks, and that's why it's awesome. The room was small but comfortable, the bed very comfy. There was no TV in the room, which I really liked. Great shower. Outside there was a little deck with chairs so we could relax, listen to the Ausable River and look at the lovely grounds. There was also a restaurant area (closed while we were there) that we could sit in for meals or just to hang out. Cool decorations everywhere (and a TV, if you really needed one). And a small game room with foosball, pingpong and a pool table. Fire pit with chairs. Oh, and they provided a nice bagged breakfast with an egg, granola bar, orange, juice box -- basically a good hiking snack. And the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The packed breakfast is cute! And the little common dinning area is also cute and very quiet. The playroom is awesome, played some pool, ping pong and foosball! The Au Sable river running behind the property is also beautiful.

There is no way in hell that this Inn should be rated at a 9.0. There is no cellular service, so we never got the note saying they didn’t have a TV and they weren’t going to be there to check us in. There was a bag on the counter with our key, telling us which room and telling us that our breakfast was made, and in the refrigerator for tomorrow. Advertising that they had a restaurant which was not open. The room was clean. The shower was good, but I would never rated at a 9.0.

Arrived late, left early. Everything was set up perfectly; check-in seamless, a hearty continental breakfast in the fridge early AM. Although I didn't need it for this quick overnight, my room had everything I would have needed to cook a meal. Good room for us. We did a bike ride up Whiteface, came to the room to shower and sleep. Next day hiked Mt. Marcy and repeated the shower and sleep. The room was perfect for our needs. The breakfast bag was a nice extra.
