Candlewood Suites Mishawaka by IHG

We were welcomed by a great team member who checked us in. Morning crew was great too. Nothing fancy, extended grounds could use a clean up but it was good as it was dog friendly and perfect for us to stay w our little one. We were just traveling through and wants a cheaper place.

The air In our room was broken. Left yeh hotel 3 times for the air to be fixed to find it was unrepairable. Charged $60.00 for the day we checked out even though we couldn’t stay (yes it wasn’t the entire amount but no fee should have been charged). The room also only has utensils and dishes towels for 2 people. The weight room in a joke. The picture is not where near what the hotel has to offer. Would never recommend staying here.

They have more rooms that accept wheelchairs than parking spots. I was not able to park close to the entrance. Two many doors to work a wheelchair. Bed was very high making it almost impossible to get the wheelchair victim in bed. Was suppose to be a roll in shower but only had a tub making it impossible to bath.

Everything was great. Clean, comfortable (especially the beds), and the shower is good too. Everything worked in the kitchen, no problems anywhere. We did have some allergy issues that probablycame from people's pets, and there was weed in the elevator (one of us has an epipen level allergy to weed). We noticed that although guests didn't smoke (cigarettes) near the entrance door, staff did. It was quiet enough despite noisy neighbors. My wife said she would feel safe here if she were traveling alone.

Had to keep tightening toilet seat; bathroom sink stopper would not adjust water filled very slow to drain; shower water came out for tub and shower; stopper in tub was also plugged and slow. Had water above ankles when finished. Tile floors had not been mopped. Carpet had not been vacuumed. Not sure if edges around floor boards had ever been vacuumed. Easily visible was food crumbs and bottle cap visible between night stand and bed. Lobby entrance dirty and not swept. Tile floor in lobby and elevator dirty. Took 48 hours for dirt and elevator mopped clean. Refrigerator and ice was all good.

The room itself was average, no bulb in the entry way ceiling light, but elevators and common areas reeked of smoke. Barking dog and slamming doors didnt help the experience. Canceled 2nd night stay.

I recently stayed at Candlewood Suites Mishawaka North, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. While the location was convenient, the overall condition of the room and hotel left much to be desired. To start, the bathroom was in dire need of attention. The tub drained slowly, leaving water to pool around my feet during showers, and there was mold around the shower area. The caulking was in poor condition, further contributing to the overall feeling of neglect. In the main room, the lack of USB plugs was inconvenient, especially in this day and age where charging multiple devices is a necessity. To make matters worse, the pillowcases had visible stains on them, which made me question the cleanliness of the entire room. The room also had an odd, unpleasant smell that lingered throughout my stay. The layout of the room was another issue. The HVAC unit was positioned right next to one of the beds, at the torso/head level, making it impossible to use without it blowing directly on the person trying to sleep there. Adding to the discomfort, the refrigerator in the room made loud noises all night long, disrupting sleep. The smoke detector above the bed had a very bright, blinking light that flashed continuously, making it difficult to rest. The elevator smelled of smoke, and there was no visible inspection license, which was concerning. Lastly, the emergency exit door was broken and left partially open, posing a significant security risk.

Have stayed here multiple times for Notre Dame related events. Super convenience. Very quiet. Plenty of free parking. Check-in seemed like it was with a maintenance supervisor, but whatever, he checked us in. Room is big and basically clean. We went next door to the Holiday Inn Express for buffet breakfast (but I think this next door buffet is no longer available). Candlewood is great for its convenience and location. No frills but I don't care. It serves our needs. Would definitely recommend.

Very comfortable bed and just perfect for our one night stay. Love that there’s a bar open late and breakfast was good. Will make that our go-to hotel in South Bend!

When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly girl who we found out her name is Tammy. She made us feel right at home. With her smile and welcoming words. This hotel has a kitchenette with a full suze fridge a dishwasher and the room where the bed is is huge. There is a workout room and a laundry room which is included. Along with everything you need for comfort and cooking. Plusbthey are pet friendly. Wonderful place.

This was an absolute nightmare and I’ve never experienced anything like this. There was blood stains all over the carpet, sofa and on the side of the bed. The shower would not drain and neither did the sink. It was noisey all the time and no one ever cleaned the elevators, halls, carpets. Everything smelled bad. I still have traumatic experience and get grossed out every time I think of this place.

The hotel room and the property, in general, had a musty smell the entire time. Also, the only lights that worked in the room were the bedside lamps. The kitchen overhead light didn't work either, so the room was dark. I told the front office, but they were not able to fix it until the day before we left, and it never did get fixed.

It was the cleanest property I’ve visited so far. It was an issue with my heat in the room I was staying in and the staff was efficient in finding a solution to the problem and accommodated me for the inconvenience. I would gladly stay here again!

Bathroom floor and room carpet would need a more thorough sweep. Staff super friendly and helpful.

My ground floor unit smelled like a flooded moldy basement. The bedding was damp and the AC was on full blast at 60°. Bug traps were all over the room

The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. It does seem to be a little older and could use a little update. Overall, it was a good experience.

I would never stay here again, a bolt fell out of top of door and hit my head, tub had dirty eye contact on it, heater only worked about 77 and 70 dollars for a dog. Live and learn

Broken doors to the cupboard area under the sink; no instructions on how to turn the TV on because the remote was incompatible with the on/off function; when the a/c-heater came on, the fan sounded like a semi was idling outside the room; no USB outlets for charging a phone. The space was adequate, the workspace was very appropriate.

the carpet in the room was wet in front of the fridge.

A great place to stay in any case, but the staff were so friendly and helpful, they really made it feel extra deluxe.

That was our second time in this hotel and our first stay was way better. The check in guy wasn’t in a good mood apparently and in our check out day, the front desk was already calling our room at 10:40 AM even though the check out is 11:00 AM, so pretty much kicking us out. There was a water leak in the carpet right next door to the tile floor, the leak was there on Saturday and by Sunday morning still there without any yellow wet floor sigh or anything I mentioned to the front desk clerk at the check out and he said they were already of the leak

I made a reservation with Expedia. When I arrived the hotel clerk said they did not have a reservation for me. I showed him the confirmation email and told him I had called the hotel directly to confirm. He said it didn't matter. Expedia "didn't push the reservation through" & the hotel was oversold due to a home Notre Dame football game. I had to get a room nearby for twice the cost.

The check in was slow, it seemed as if he didn’t know what he was doing he never told us anything about the hotel nothing about breakfast literally no info was given at check in. Then our room it seemed clean but it did look like 2 year old calked around the tub and toilet. Found a hair ball on the floor in the kitchen…?????

The hotel was very clean and the staff, we have seen before, was also very nice.

Requested an early check in(called and spoke to agent) and said it would be fine since we were in town for a wedding. Got there to check in and the horribly rude front desk agent said she could not get us in a room at all even though there were 6 cars in the entire parking lot. Said "I have rooms available but I'm not letting you in until check in at 3". Came back at 3 and was still told we couldn't check in. Finally was allowed to check in around 5 (had to make a special trip between wedding and reception). Complete inconvenience and will never stay there again Pillows were super soft and flat and bed was uncomfortable. Stain on chair in room as well. Bathroom was not stocked on body wash/ etc and was not filled when asked.

It was a little hard to find since back behind Holiday Inn. Very nice suite with full size fridge, oven, microwave, plates and glasses. A quick trip for just overnight. Would be very nice for a longer stay.

We stayed here for one night and would recommend! It’s comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It doesn’t come with a free breakfast and is a bit pricey (as the rest of the hotels in the area are), but we enjoyed our stay on our drive through and would stay again!

This property was located near the imaging clinic and to all stores we needed to go to.

Very basic hotel. No breakfast or cleaning on weekends. Receptionist were friendly. Initial checking was a bit akward as receptionist wasn’t too knowledgeable of the process.

The only thing I didn’t like was that the property didn’t supply a breakfast included. I understand that the kitchen is fully equipped in the room for making such things, but there are other hotels who offer free continental breakfast with the same set up (fully equipped kitchen). It would be really convenient for the people who work in the pipeline that stay at your location as well as the others who are staying there on business who don’t have time to cook a breakfast for themselves. Just something to take into consideration. I do like the customer service that was given and that our room wasn’t dirty/no traces of mold. That seems to be something that has been a loss in the hotel industry. You guys are the 2nd out of the many hotels we have stayed at in the past year who I didn’t have to go down and request to switch rooms due to lack of cleanliness. Thank you for your hospitality.
