Villa Elena Isla Mujeres

Lovely clean room, though our room window was straight onto the road so had to keep curtains shut. Super clean and friendly though terrace is neglected which is a shame.

The room felt safe and was mostly clean. The roof was not at all how it appears in the images, not set up at all to relax on. The location was noisier at night from the street, not the sounds of the ocean that was described. My booking was Pay Later reservation, but I trusted when I arrived (and was tired from travel), and paid for multiple nights right away. After he first night, I realized it was not as described and quite a high price anyway. I checked out in the morning and asked for a refund for the nights I paid in advance and did not use. They said no problem, but later refused and kept all the money. It was in the end a terrible experience with this place, and they completely took advantage of me.

This place is amazing. the service was excellent and the rooftop terrace was a huge perk. we were up there every night. h

My daughter and I stayed at Villa Elena for three nights and we had a wonderful visit. The room was large and spotless and the air conditioning was excellent. We didn't have a sea view room, though I saw them and they were even nicer, but we really enjoyed the stay. The staff, especially the manager was so helpful. When our whale shark tour was cancelled, he took us out with his daughter around the island and was such a lovely host. If you stay here, please make sure to see the sunrise on the roof, it is so incredible. It was one of the highlights. Do not be put off by the area, it is not a beautiful as some of the south side of the island, but with the navy base across the street, it is very safe and easy walking distance to North beach and all the shops and dining.

It is our first time on Isla Mujeres and we stayed here for 5 nights. All of the staff were wonderful and kind. Our room (standard room #4) was large, bright, and clean! Unfortunately the bed was a quite hard and I would not want to have slept on it longer than we did. It was also incredibly loud with people passing by on their scooters and golf carts, but only from around 9am to 9pm. The rooftop view was stunning, and I appreciated the 12-15 minute walk into town along the seawall. All in all would definitely recommend! P.S. if you need an extra blanket, just ask. Also leave the boiler on for 10 minutes before taking a shower and you'll be good to go!

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft, die ich das 2. Mal gewählt habe. Blick von der Terrasse ist unbezahlbar. Wenn es noch einen Sonnenschirm und einen Wäscheständer gebe, wäre der Aufenthalt perfekt gewesen. Ich würde das Zimmer trotzdem wieder buchen. :)

The studio is huge, with a kitchen, huge terrace with incredible ocean views and a very nice bathroom. Daily cleaning service was a nice surprise as well. Communication with Clara, the he owner/manager was lovely and warm. She came by our place and delivered coffee personally which was so sweet. We loved the location because it’s minutes to the heart of the Centro, but removed from all of the hubbub. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again. We visit the island twice a year!

Our stay at villa elena was perfect. Suite 5 was lovely, ocean waves crashing all night, room was spotless upon arrival, and bed sheets made each night. Air conditioner worked perfect. Close to amenities and no road nice. Comfy king bed.

Villa Elena is a basic accommodation at a very reasonable cost located very close to the main area of Isla Mujeres but far enough away to be quiet. Very clean and good and prompt communication. Highly recommended.

The place was very close to restaurants and the beach. The staff never bothered us to clean the unit they cleaned it while we were out. The place had a little kitchenette but we didn’t get kitchen towels until we asked and we were given a hand towel haha it worked.

Wonderful! Clara was very helpful, the place was sparkling clean, and the view from suite 6 is amazing. Possibly one of the better hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, and for a bargain.

Nice and clean room although a bit noisy with the road noise since I had a room next to the street. Bed was very comfortable. The room was a good size, had a rain shower head. I would stay here again but try to get an ocean view room.

Fantastic overall. The ocean view room has a magnificent view. Truly. However, this room has NO BLACK OUT CURTAIN AT ALL on one entire half of the room. You WILL wake up to am extremely bright room and perhaps not be able to get back to sleep. Ive never seen a hotel with such a lack of a proper curtain. They have a terrific one for one side of the large window, but NONE on the second half. Very strange. Kitchen and everything else pretty good, except the bathroom which had poor pressure in the shower and bathroom sink. Also, not much hot water in the bathroom sink. And low pressure. But price was good for April. Location very good. But you will have to walk places. But not far. But it is quiet. The host is fantastic. Great guy. My room needed several issues looked at, such as the sliding glass door lock about to fall off. The balcony is glorious quiet and private. The best part is the balcony and the shocking huge ocean view. But youll have to deal with some wood beams stacked up off to the side. I totally dodnt mind because the balcony and view were so outstanding. And the price was very good at the time. I stayed for three nights because i loved the view so much.

We had nonstop Caribbean br The kitchenette was very helpful to have and the bathroom was well appointed. Even the bed and pillows were great. The staff were what really shined. Everyone was so attentive and helpful at check in and during our stay. They even called a doctor for me when I hurt myself falling off a boat. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe, customer-focused, family-run place to stay on the island.

Todo bárbaro ! La habitación con vista al mar es maravillosa !!! Tuvo solo un problema con el agua caliente de la ducha que a veces salía y a veces no , no nos quejamos porque practicamos ni estábamos en la habitación. Pero seguro lo solucionan rápido!.

Great view from room 6. See the sun rise and shade in the evening. Very large walk in shower and everything worked as it should. The bad is the old louvered room doors that let all the sound from the rest of the house in and any sounds coming from your room out. Properties near Villa Elena are rundown and some are even just piles of old building materials.

Our third (or fourth?) stay at this amazing property. I dream of the million dollar ocean views from suites 4 and 5 and the inner rooms are super convenient for family or group travel. (We stayed in the bottom suite this time—5, I think). The balconies on both ocean facing suites are amazing—perfect for relaxing to the sound of the waves, watching the sunrise, and viewing diving pelicans and other birds. The beds are new as of May ‘25 and extremely comfortable, with outlets built in to the headboards. The full kitchen (including a regular sized coffee pot) makes quick breakfasts and snacks easy for lazy room time. The property provides drinking water, which is a huge bonus. The safe is large enough for a full sized laptop. The property itself is a very quick 10 minute walk from the shops and restaurants in Centro as well as a 10 minute walk to the bay-side bus stop and taxi pick up point. It’s a great compromise between staying downtown and staying mid island. Finally, I can’t say enough nice things about the wonderful staff. They are always available and responsive to What’s App messages and are so incredibly helpful. I don’t think I’m allowed to mention names, but the same folks have been working there since we started coming 6 years ago. (You know who you are and we love you!) We love Villa Elena and its always our go-to when it’s available for our trip dates.

La ubicación del establecimiento es estratégica porque la terminal del ferry está a menos de 10 min caminando con maletas. Llegamos a las 10 am y nos cuidaron nuestras pertenencias hasta la hora de registrarnos. Tuvimos contacto con Clara, quien es una persona muy amable y de plática muy amena. La habitación es amplia y cuenta con cafetera, frigo y licuadora. La limpieza es excelente. El colchón aunque de primera instancia puede parecer muy blando, una vez que te acuestas pareciera que te abraza y se descansa de manera increíble. Definitivamente volvería a hospedarme aquí

Exceptional stay. Staff were amazing. Check in a breeze. Room was massive with the most amazing waterfront deck (suite 5). Property and room were so clean and well cared for. The location!!! was the best! just a short walk in to Centro with beachs, restaurants, bars. Super cute coffee shop (with morning yoga) just 1 minute down the road. Coffee was exceptional. We onlt nbooked two nights here as this was somewhat last minute and we were dissapointed that we had to leave.

Great room with a great balcony view. It'd be great if the receiving receptionist could speak a little English. It was a little difficult to communicate.

Stunning views and within easy walking distance of the town and north beach! Highly recommend.

I have stayed all over the world in everything from shared hostel dorms to bare bones places to generic corporate hotels to luxe hotels to charming bnbs to fancy boutique hotels and honestly--this place was one of the most PERFECT places for me. If you like to be close to a lot of walkable restaurants and bars for a very reasonable price, Villa Elena cannot be beat. We did book a room with a balcony overlooking the sea which was just phenomenal and is not every room, but the location and value alone I think would make this a smart stay for folks who value charming, well-located, independent places run by local people. Great sea view and sound. Fifteen min walk to beach. Easy check/out. Close walk to ferry and restaurants/shopping. Sound carries in the hallway so one neighbor was really loud our first night early in the morning and kept us up. After that, it was a respite from the rest of the island bustle.

Great property. Walkable from the ferry and everything on the north end but just outside of all the noise of the north end bars/restaraunts.

We loved the location and easy access to the central commercial area. Close enough to walk, but tucked back enough for some calm and quiet. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy access to drinking water. Next time we will splurge for a balcony view!
