Was given keys to the wrong room. When we got into the right room, temperature was 80 degrees. I promptly set it to 67 degrees. It never fell below 76 degrees. Miserable. When I mentioned it to the front desk clerk, she said “oh, that’s terrible.” And proceeded to charge me full price for the room and not even attempt to resolve the AC issue. I’ve stayed two other times at this property and won’t be back. Overpriced and under delivered. Pool has not been in operation since they opened.

The hotel was so unique. The staff was exceptional. The heated pool was very nice but we loved the fire pits and veranda. The grounds were beautiful. Can’t wait to visit again.

When entering the hotel, people were laying on the couches, first impression. When checking in after 4:00pm, our rooms were not ready and we were offered an upgrade at an extra charge. The hotel pool was green and had an overwhelming smell of chlorine. The coffee in the room was decaffeinated only. The staff were nice that worked the breakfast.

We had a great stay. It was easy to relax in our beautiful, very clean room. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed sitting on a terrace in the morning drinking coffee. Great breakfast. The fitness center and other facilities are very clean and updated. Loved the friendly staff. I recommend upgrading to a room with a king bed versus a queen. The king bed rooms are much more spacious. My only concern would be that noise really carries given the hardwood floors and high ceilings. We stayed on a weekday when it was not very busy, and I'm an early riser so didn't mind, but we could really hear the hotel waking up.

Beautiful, beautiful historic property that has been renovated very nicely. The room was well appointed, very clean, and in keeping with the historical context. Breakfast was rather disappointing and that they lacked several advertised items, including no milk, no waffles, limited fruit. The pool heater was broken, and the water chemistry was off, which was also disappointing. The staff, however, were excellent and very helpful and accommodating.

What a gem! Front desk personnel were amazing! The Inn has a history that is fun to learn about and brings elements to the property you will not find anywhere else. The outdoor fire pits with rocking chairs, indoor heated pool, extensive grab and go refreshments and essentials, tall ceilings throughout the property including our room, hardwood floors, hot breakfast with waffles, fruit, eggs, bacon and breakfast fries, a complimentary town bus to explore the quaint town of Blackstone - shall I stop here? Don’t miss this one!!

This hotel is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at! The beds are so comfortable and soft! The pool is super nice! The complimentary breakfast is good and they switch it up a little daily. We also loved the outside patio area! We ate out there and had a fire. Overall a great stay!

Property is unique and cool Price is sky high for a tiny room (298.00 x 2 nights!!) the room was TINY! The pool water is green and burned our eyes My child woke up with swollen red eyes and laid all night with a Cold rag on them. There was very little food available for breakfast and variety the first day the second day their cook never showed up for work. Limited USB plug in not even sure the fridge worked. Again the building is cool they even had busses to shuttle people not sure where. But I have been in cheaper hotels w a clean clear pool and hot tub, this place did not have hot tub. Other places for way cheaper had a variety and wonderful breakfast lay out, bigger rooms more comfort, plugs ins available for charging stations/usb ports ect.

Virginia who checked us in was so friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful. We enjoyed the fire pits. The downfall was our room, there was hair in the shower at least six long dark hairs and a used q tip still on the floor. The room was just not well cleaned all over. Luckily the sheets were nice and clean and the bed was comfy. The walls are paper thin you can hear your neighbors talking and alarms going off so loudly they sound like they are in your room.

Upon walking on the door to our room I looked around & noticed it wasn’t close to clean, there wasn’t any housekeeping available because of the holiday so the next day a lady came to clean. She had winded to sanitize? Also the dish washer had dirty dishes in it & it was new with the packing still on it so my husband fixed it before we left lol! The front desk staff were very nice, we enjoyed them! But for the price we paid, it was disappointing. The property is really nice. I see lots of ways for improvement but it wasn’t bad just the cleanliness was off

This is our 2nd stay here. Virginia, at check in, was so nice the first time we came back. This hotel smells AMAZING! Everyone is super nice..the pool was nice and clean. The rooms are spotless. I love this place.

This hotel is fine. The building was once a women's college so their are high ceilings, wide halls, and huge windows, all of which are lovely. There is no real mention of that fact anywhere, however, so when you drive in from one side, you wonder if you're at an office park which is somewhat odd. Our first room had a broken toilet in the bathroom so we were moved to a different room. Both were fine though there were crumbs on various countertops, dust/hair on the floor. Not spotless! The breakfast is very average and not healthy but I was thankful for coffee. Overall a fine place but nothing memorable.

This is a beautifully renovated building. The room had cavernous ceilings. I loved the large window that overlooked the lawn and magnificent oak trees. The staff was attentive and the breakfast very nice and plentiful. The parking was close to the entrance, the rooms quiet (solid walls), and great sleeping to be had. I will be back. Wish I had had more time to explore Blackstone.

Gorgeous historic property! Loved the king bed and mattress, lovely bathroom with hot and plentiful shower and the delicious hot breakfast! The small but fully equipped kitchen was a big bonus! Will definately stay here again!

This was a one-night stay, and I had no real issues. The room and bed were comfortable but about the size of a walk-in closet. It's obvious they are trying hard to make the best of the space and they certainly get credit for that. The floor in my room needed some TLC, which is why I did not give it five stars. It's banged up pretty well, and areas seem to be unfinished. Don't get me wrong; it did not interfere with my stay, just the difference between a four & five-star review. What stood out was the service. The entire staff was gracious throughout my short stay. When I returned from dinner off-property, I was having a chocolate crisis, and they had nothing in the sundry area to satisfy my chocolate, gooey meltdown. Then, to my rescue came the front desk clerk, who graciously dug into her purse, pulled out a mini Butterfinger bar, and saved the day... She definitely made a friend for life that day. I would absolutely recommend staying at this property if you are ever in Blackstone, Virginia.

The room was not up to standard,the outlets did not work,so that meant that the microwave,coffee pot would not work, I could not use the hairdryer or anything. So therefore the room was not great at all.

The staff was courteous. The floors in the rooms need to be redone because they gave the room a stale smell, and the room could use a lamp on each side of the bed. Too dark in the event two people were in the room and they each wanted to read before bed. Also, there were dogs in the room beside me that were barking. I don't think dogs should be in a hotel unless they are service dogs, which they were not. For the continental breakfast, please be mindful of the items offered because the dates on all of the yogurts were outdated.

Very good stay. The lady at the front desk on Saturday night (6/27-28) at 2am, was wonderful as I needed to get to a hospital after a leg issue. She called the ambulance, found a pair of crutches for me and helped make sure the entire episode was handled professionally. Our stay was very pleasant, the room lovely.

This is our 2nd stay here. Virginia, at check in, was so nice the first time we came back. This hotel smells AMAZING! Everyone is super nice..the pool was nice and clean. The rooms are spotless. I love this place.

The property was amazing and the staff was so nice and accommodating. We didn't arrive until super late at night and the gentleman working the desk was so helpful. Expedia has the room descriptions completely incorrect for this hotel and he tried to accommodate my family as best he could. The staff the next morning was also very accommodating and helpful with the situation. Hands down I would certainly stay at the Blackstone again if I was ever in the area again. My suggestion to Expedia would be to update the room descriptions as sent to you by the hotel. As I booked a Premium Room because your description listed there being a pull out double sofa and this room does not have that. I spent extra money to have the sofa bed and had I known this wasn't an option I would not have purchased the more expensive room. Thankfully the hotel staff was very very understanding, apologetic and helpful. I explained the situation and told them the price of the other room that I would have purchased had this one not listed the sofa bed and they updated the cost of what I paid in their system. Now I just wait for Expedia to refund me the difference, which I hope is soon as my stay was a week ago today.

Loved this quirky hotel!! So much better than a chain hotel! Staff was super helpful and nice. Room was not huge but very clean and the gym was really nice! Not close to town but saw they provided shuttle if you needed it. Would stay here again!

Beautiful Inn. They have done a really good job renovating it. I would say an 8x10 rug on the hard wood would go a long way! We also enjoyed walking around the little town. Cute shops and some nice restaurants.

Who knew Bea Arthur attended Blackstone, when it was a college. Limited food options around the area, but definitely go eat at Las Veracruzanas (Mexican Grocery Store) Amazing tacos.

What a gem! Front desk personnel were amazing! The Inn has a history that is fun to learn about and brings elements to the property you will not find anywhere else. The outdoor fire pits with rocking chairs, indoor heated pool, extensive grab and go refreshments and essentials, tall ceilings throughout the property including our room, hardwood floors, hot breakfast with waffles, fruit, eggs, bacon and breakfast fries, a complimentary town bus to explore the quaint town of Blackstone - shall I stop here? Don’t miss this one!!

Very nice accommodations. Beautiful place. Complimentary breakfast was very good, especially the fruit. If I were coming back to the area I definitely would stay at the Inn at Blackstone again.

We had a great stay. It was easy to relax in our beautiful, very clean room. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed sitting on a terrace in the morning drinking coffee. Great breakfast. The fitness center and other facilities are very clean and updated. Loved the friendly staff. I recommend upgrading to a room with a king bed versus a queen. The king bed rooms are much more spacious. My only concern would be that noise really carries given the hardwood floors and high ceilings. We stayed on a weekday when it was not very busy, and I'm an early riser so didn't mind, but we could really hear the hotel waking up.

The room was very nice. I appreciated the little refrigerator. The pool, work out room and location in a historic place were excellent. I thought the breakfast was a bit average.. no fresh fruit was offered. I expected a more friendly reception. There is room for improvement there! Also to note that the place is large so there is quite a walk to the rooms which is not so good when you have a number of things to carry to your room and you are a senior.

This hotel is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at! The beds are so comfortable and soft! The pool is super nice! The complimentary breakfast is good and they switch it up a little daily. We also loved the outside patio area! We ate out there and had a fire. Overall a great stay!

Property is unique and cool Price is sky high for a tiny room (298.00 x 2 nights!!) the room was TINY! The pool water is green and burned our eyes My child woke up with swollen red eyes and laid all night with a Cold rag on them. There was very little food available for breakfast and variety the first day the second day their cook never showed up for work. Limited USB plug in not even sure the fridge worked. Again the building is cool they even had busses to shuttle people not sure where. But I have been in cheaper hotels w a clean clear pool and hot tub, this place did not have hot tub. Other places for way cheaper had a variety and wonderful breakfast lay out, bigger rooms more comfort, plugs ins available for charging stations/usb ports ect.

This was such a fun little find! My daughter and I were traveling through and when I saw this cool boutique hotel we decided to check it out. The room was so cool! Tall windows and such a neat ambiance. The place was immaculate. I felt immediately comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was your standard fare. The room we ate it was super nice though!! The staff were awesome and super friendly. If we ever come through this area again we will absolutely stay here! Also, read up on the history of this building! That makes the stay even cooler!
