Mandalay Shores Resort

Close to everything you’d want. The unit is dated, which you will see in every review. But for the money, it’s worth it. My kids loved the proximity to the beach and the pool/hot tub!

We have now stayed at least 10 times at the Mandalay Shores property; there are many solid reason why we choose this property over hotels and other condos: 1) We do not have pay for parking (often a garage is with the unit); 2) We have no more that 20 feet to our car; 3) We place is always clean and "move in ready" steps to the unit (no long property walks down the hallway) 4) The kitchen is ready for cooking (we use it for snacks mostly and eat out) and you never have to ask if there is a fridge and freezer and full size microwave- hotels its a crap shoot; 5) Room for the kids and PRIVACY; 6) Two bathrooms (no hotel has this); 7) Each unit has ITS OWN WIRELESS ROUTER- NO SHARED BANDWIDTH and no asking you to sign to a "club" to get HS Internet; 8) The neighborhood is silent all year (even during summer); 9) The staff are attentive and make sure you are taken care of days before you arrive; and 10) When you are tired and dragging a-- from a long weekend, your luggage pack out is about 20 steps to your car! Whew. I cannot say enough good things about our "home away from home" but you don't have the BS hotels come with (conventions, long lines, shared walls). We only use it for the weekend, but for a week it would even be better. We look forward to our next trip.

The resort itself nice perfect for a single or couple getaway that wants to get away from daily life. Nice pool nice jacuzzi. It got 4 stars because furniture very old imagine going to ur grandparent's house and furniture is over 30 years old no cushion left in the couch or chair no softness whatsoever but beds nice oh and internet majorly slow make sure u come fully work free. The area though oxnard shores for a beach town very quiet the beach is trashed literally debris everywhere branches sticks etc make sure to wear shoes walking to the shore and don't go deep dolphins like u can visbly see the fins nit that far feom shore anyway for rest and quiet resort satisfys that but dont come here for the beach LA beaches are 10x much better

Property is in a great location with a good view of the ocean. Walking distance to the beach. The free bikes on site and heated pool are a nice plus. Place was clean and well decorated. Staff was friendly. Definitely will be back.

I loved my stay at this townhouse. It was VERY clean and decorated so cute. Towels supplied. The queen bed was so comfortable! The kitchen has everything that could be imagined. Walk right to the beautiful beach. So convenient! The beach isn’t crowded at all and that makes it even more relaxing. The townhouse even has a garage and easy parking. I am so glad I stayed here for my 60th birthday. It made it so special, I hope to come back again soon. I loved it!

Our stay at Mandalay Shores was perfect. We stayed in the two bedroom near the beach. Parking was not a problem in mid March , we parked in front the unit on our six day stay. The pool was behind our unit and the guest who used it were very quiet. Cute and cozy beach spot in Oxnard, would return on next visit.

Everything is good except no air conditioning

Very close to the beach, beach was very nice. Pool and hot tub were clean. Note- there is no AC.

Our stay at Mandalay Shores was excellent. The proximity to the beach was awesome as it was only a few steps away. The unit was in great shape, very clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Will definitely consider coming back in the future 👍

Kinda disappointed as the write up about cleanliness stated that there is a seal at the door to show that the place was cleaned & disinfected. There was no seal. I called the office to express my concerns & they acted right away and wanted to see the issues we had in the place. Biggest problem was the stained mattress my daughter & I had to sleep on. I was not informed where the extra sheets were so I just had to be resourceful. I had bites on my legs the next morning. The bathrooms were well decorated but could not comouflage the unclean bathroom. A place could be old but if cleaned properly, it is acceptable. The shower door edging had molds in it. The trimmings of the door was gold which made the molds more obvious. At the corner you could see accumulated dirt or mold. The grouts on the tiles could use mega bleach to get the mold out and disinfect. Good thing I had some disinfecting wipes which came very handy. In the second floors bathroom, the handles on the tub had no molds at the edges of the handles but when you sit on the toilet, it is something you cannot miss. The screen door needs mega replacement & if you go out in the patio, make sure you leave a crack because it will surely pose a big problem to open it from the outside. The box fan in the loft surely needs mega cleaning or maybe replace it as it is not expensive. Especially with Covid still here, I was expecting a cleaner place. Superficial cleaning done between guests. Decor will not cover filth.

It was lovely. It’s an older property so there are maintenance opportunities, but it was way more homey than a hotel. It as clean and the beds weee nice.

The place was dirty when i arrived. There was still trash in the garage. When we took a bath, there were floating particles from the jet tub. The place is just super worn and needed a remodel decades ago. The bedding is old and uncomfortable, slept poorly x 2 nights. Wifi didnt work at first, took a couple of hours to get fixed. The outdoor patio was not enclosed, it was in the middle of construction.

The place was nice and clean and super close to the beach. It had everything we needed. We loved our stay. Will definitely come back.

The office was great communicating with me and accommodating our late arrival and early departure. We were only there briefly for a sleep, but it is described as ocean view, but that is just a glimpse through a small upstairs bedroom window. The place is quite run down and needs an upgrade - cracked tiles, chipped kitchen cabinets and countertops, carpet seemed to be several decades old. Still, it was probably priced for the condition. When I turned on the bedside lamp, I could see dust motes hanging on wall. More attention to detail would help. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Construction next door started about 7 am and was very noisy.

Everything was good the only thing is that I was only there for one day with my family for my 32th birthday and after we did all the things we wanted to we wanted to relax and watch some show or movies a little family time but at that day unfortunately the internet was down for the whole night and I even went as far as renting some red box DVDs and the DVD player wasn't working and it wasn't ejecting the DVD. I had called the emergency line and left a message and no one got back to me. The only thing i got was when I was returning the key she told me that spectrum was working on the internet that day. A call back would of been nice especially they didn't even acknowledge the fact that the DVD player wasn't working.Over all the place was great next to the beach was amazing as well cleanliness was amazing. I would go back just that they need some sort of communication especially when it is suppose to be the after hours line.

There was a lot of confusion on when to check in and the resort "fee" is ridiculous! The townhouse itself is spacious and clean. I will be more specific next time and make sure we are ON the beach...not "beachside"

Room was great. Did not realize the living area would not be on the bottom floor. Next time I will get a two bedroom unit.

Nice, safe, quiet location. Ocean view, just steps to the beach. For this price point, don't expect the latest and greatest decorations and newest property. It's solidly 1990 vintage. But almost everything is clean, comfortable, in working condition. The one thing that has to go is the bathtub. Originally a whirlpool bathtub, the jets have been decommissioned and patched up in a gross and tacky way. It's also very difficult to even get into the bathtub due to the configuration of the tub and the bathroom. I would not hesitate to call it dangerous, especially for someone of a certain age. Use the shower downstairs instead.

Easy check in. We were able to get an early check in and it was fast. The property is right next to the beach. There are swings and a play area for my 2 year old at the beach which was nice. The property was clean and spacious.

Average at best. Not inspiring or contemporary. Meh,...heads up there are steps everywhere. Not suitable for little chlldren or seniors or anyone with mobility issues. 13 steep steps to enter. dangerous although well marked step up to kitchen. another 13 steep steps to upstairs bedroom. Not even a little bar of soap in shower and definitely no shampoo or conditioner. Not gracious or generous with any amenity. Only a small pack of decaf coffee. No cooking pans in one of the units. Curtain in bedroom doesn't block out light outside window. close to beach though. gave us an early check in a late checkout which was nice.

Nice quiet time midweek. Management made sure that checkin/checkout would be without glitches - and they were.

Great get away, loved how quiet, safe and family friendly the neighborhood was. Recommend

Overall it's very good for the price. The building is a bit old but everything else is excellent. We love the large living room, two bath rooms, the kitchen, and the laundry facility, etc. It's fight next to the beach, 5 minute drive to grocery and restaurants. I would recommend it for small families.
