Kakatu Retreat Bed & Breakfast

We booked this place early morning for two nights. It was a fantastic property and well equipped however the communication with someone that either works there or the owner was impossible. Terrible check in experience.( the only bad thing about the place) You require a code to get into to the property and the room. We never received any instructions and both phone numbers were automatically being transferred to voice mail. Also no response to several email. We waited in front of the property for about an hour and asked several neighbours if they had any idea how to contact the owner. The next door neighbour let us in and texted the owner. We almost gave up since it was 9 pm and we needed to go to bed. The communication definitely needs work if no one is in the property to let you in and the place is not walkable distance to the town. ( my only complaint)

We really enjoyed the upstairs living of the property. It was modern, beautifully presented and spotless. The huge kitchen area was great. The lift was fantastic if you had a wheelchair which most places don’t cater for. We weren’t expecting to stay in a converted garage however as it didn’t mention that anywhere on the booking. The second night I had a centipede crawling on my chest through the night so I probably wouldn’t recommend that room for young children. I would definitely recommend staying here.
