Element by Marriott Calgary Airport

The hotel was very cool for the room we stayed in. We stayed in the room with the kitchenette and 2 big beds. It was overall really awesome! It was quiet, clean, and enjoyed the fact that they had underground parking (that was heated too). If I were to make any suggestions it would be to add less chlorine to the pool. It was very powerful and salty. Other than that just the fact that they charged me the whole stay plus the security deposit as a hold on my credit card for booking thru Expedia.

Hotel needs to do some upgrades. Old, smell, bar was closed. Front does not feel welcoming. Need renovation. Room carpet, sofa floor and wall has stain and dirty

Great stay! The room was clean and spacious. The front desk was welcoming and kind. It came with lots of amenities, though we didn’t use much as we were only there for a night. The pool and hot tub are a nice addition. Breakfast was great - lots of options available. Would 100% stay here again!

Rooms are very clean and kept up. They have a great breakfast service which runs until 10/10:30. Check out at noon is also so convenient ! The pool and gym are also open until late. Overall a great stay !

Problems from the beginning: 1: bathroom door wouldnt close (got stuck half way) had to use force to close, dangerous with my kids.. 2: was told there was bathtubs for my lil ones. There is not.. 3: breakfast buffet was packed and although food was devent, way too little space for the amount of ppl. No seating. 4: room walls were dirty, 5: sofa pullout was incredibly bad quality for my kids. 6: elevator broke while staying here.. had to take stairs most of day. 7: only a couple bath n hand towels, had to call for more (we got a family suite.. 2 is obviously not enough) Even with all these problems, they didnt do anything for us because they said we booked via Expedia. So because of expedia they could'nt comp us anything or discount.

Property was chosen with shuttle provision in mind. At a spry 76 years of age, arriving from Florida, I communicated time of arrival 24 hrs advanced notice, repeated telephone notice upon arrival with specified location at door 16, at shuttle stop 36. Westin shuttle flew by twice and I waited in sub -15 weather for more than 1 hour while in telephone communication with the hotel. Unacceptable!

Check in was quick room was clean enjoyed the free parking and ev charger breakfast was good and well stocked

Wonderful staff, great breakfast, EV charging. Our go to hotel while in Calgary. Only complaint this stay is pool was closed

Room was clean, all the staff were insanely friendly and accommodating. I will be staying here again!

The hotel was disgusting, the minute you enter you can feel it. The carpets are filthy and an overall smell to the hotel. Our room was gross. The couch was filthy which we had to cover with towels to sit on. The shower had mould on the tile and around the glass. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! when requesting a refund I was denied.

Great staff, clean rooms

Room was significantly nice nothing dirty to the eye but as our stay came to an end we had realized there was bed bugs in our bed and we are now covered in bites. Cleanliness definitely needs some overview.

General cleanliness of the property was average ! However the carpet in the halls and especially the rooms were terribly stained. There was also an overwhelming smell of air freshener throughout the hotel which made you wonder what they were trying to cover up. Also the bedding was absolutely terrible, not dirty but old and worn. The sheets were so pilled that it felt like sandpaper ! Overall not a bad hotel for the price but I personally wouldn’t stay here again

No air conditioning in our room, was 28° when we walked in. The chocolates they left us were completely melted. Told us it had been fixed and would just take a while to cool down, it didn’t. First night was almost 29°C at one point. Slept in sweat all 3 nights. Front desk finally got us a fan for the second night. 3rd night we got it down to 24°C with the window open fan on and exhaust fan running all day.

The rooms are nice n large. I booked a King bed with a pull out couch and a half kitchen with fridge stove and cupboards. Lots of room for our grandson to walk around. Great room!

Loved having a kitchen. Room was clean and functional. Staff were lovely! However the room we were in was definitely not soundproof as advertised- on the seventh floor we could hear things outside on weekend nights (neighbouring restaurants patrons), and some noise from the room next to ours.

We went for a suite because we had 4 people the sofa bed was aweful and they only had one extra pillow and not a real blanket for the bed. I called for more took 2 calls when we were there late (so there wasn't much going on) I had two under 4 that just wanted sleep and they kept insisting I use just one pillow.

Very big room, came with a kitchen which was nice! Almost like a one bedroom apartment honestly and the views were nice.

The stay was wonderful! We were there for one night before our flight out. The friendly staff at the front were very attentive and ready to greet from the start. Our room was a king bed and it was spacious, nice kitchenette, clean and we slept very well on a comfortable bed. I would recommend a stay there. We wish we could have experienced breakfast but our flight was an early one. Close to many restaurants And shopping and the airport too

It was an okay hotel. But there was a HUGE crack in our wall and the staff did nothing. Like you could see into the wall. Won’t be going back there. As well the pool in only 2 feet deep only good to walk in and for toddles. The hot tub was warm and the steam room was broken down.

rooms are cluttered, small , too much furniture/desk/tv on the floor that should be on the wall. overall, place is ok, but for a family of 4, rooms are small.

Air conditioning did not work properly for the entire weekend.

The room was unreasonably hot even though it was very cool outside, turning the temperature down did nothing and the window only opened an inch. By the end of the night it was a full 10 degrees hotter in the room than it was outside. The room was fine, the staff was friendly enough though checking in was pretty slow for having prepaid. The bed was uncomfortable with a pillow that was lumpy and flat with very hard corners. I've stayed at this hotel before without issue but this time was definitely a let down.

I am a frequent flyer from Calgary Airport, and I stayed in this hotel several times before. It was one of my preferred Marriott properties that I visited and enjoyed. My last stay was not a pleasant one, I brought up a concern and I feel it was not addressed but on the contrary, everyone tried to make it look as if I am hallucinating or making it up. I spoke with the reception which passed me on to Amrit Kaur (Front Desk Manager) which listened to my concern but failed to get back to me after I reached out to her several times by phone as well as sending her several emails. I also reached out to Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite services and requested them to send the property a follow up email which they did. Finally, I received an email from her dismissing my concern and telling me that she investigated the issue and there is nothing from what I mentioned is there/true, so, I replied back asking her to call me as I did not make this up and I showed her pictures before checking out but unfortunately with no response. I am disappointed in such customer service and especially when it comes from a manager. There were more issues with the hotel, but I only focused on the most important one and thought that the heater/room temperature fluctuations or the closed pool and hot tub comes less important to what I raised which is a safety concern. I am not sure I am willing to give this hotel another chance with what I have seen from such poor customer service.

Horrible experience I booked a room with two beds and they gave me a room with one bed, when I asked why they told me they didn’t have any other rooms left with two beds so I paid the full price for a room with two beds and only got one and never got refunded

We brought to the staff at the frond desk about our room being left open after service was done. The door doesn’t close properly unless you pull on the handle and close it before leaving. They were having fire alarms testing that day so we decided to take our belongings with us. After that we didn’t feel safe leaving important belongings in the room. The staff directed us to the manager who was working the next day but when we asked for the manager they said they’re here later in the afternoon. Why is there no manager during days? And they never got back to us.

Overall excellent but need more staff training. I was kept waiting for 5 minutes by the receptionist while nobody was in front of me.

I had a fantastic stay at Element Calgary. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. I stayed in the King Bed Suite and it was very clean, spacious and modern styled. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were both very nice. Breakfast was good and had a large variety. The only things I would recommend some improvement on would be a larger pool and hot tub because they quickly filled up on the busy nights. I would also recommend a larger underground and outdoor parking area with more spaces. During the busy nights I had to search extensively for a spot and one of the nights I was forced to park in a handicap spot which the hotel staff assured me it would be okay for that night. Aside from these small issues i would stay here again. Well done to the staff and owners at Element Calgary Airport.

We reserved a king room and got downgraded to a queen room. The desk employee told us it was an upgrade. After telling het we booked a king room she started stuttering and said the hotel was over booked.

If you walk up to the check in counter, and the staff is not trying to look up and greet you and made you stand there to wait for her majesty to finish her important work to say hi to you, you picked a wrong hotel. Nothing should be more important than your guests, at least acknowledge them and let them know you are currently busy, will be with them shortly. Couple other staffs was very friendly and accommodating, but this individual lady ruined the only chance she can make the first impression. She is definitely in the wrong career.

Mari checked us in, she displayed excellent customer service in every way! She was kind and accommodating - she let us move up to a higher floor and ensured the crib was in the room. Very friendly! Thank you

The reason for the rating is the terrible communication from the hotel to us arranging the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. We we told to call them to arrange for the shuttle after getting our bags. We did that, and was told the shuttle driver would be there in 20 min. I asked if we should look for Elements by Marriott…they said yes. After about 35 min outside, waiting I called again and was told it was 2 min away. After about 10 min. a shuttle marked 4 Points Sheraton (with a smaller Elements sign) arrived…I approached the shuttle driver asking if this was the shuttle to Elements by Marriott…he said no, told be to go back to the waiting area as where I was (behind the shuttles back door) was not safe. The shuttle left. The hotel called us but I missed the call and called them back a few minutes later. The hotel said the driver had arrived and waited 10 min for us and we didn’t show…Not the truth. At this point we were frustrated, cold…the hotel said we could call a particular cab company that they work with…further confusion…then they said another driver would be there…he did show and finally, we arrived more than 1 hour later (at this point, it was close to midnight). The hotel did apologize and offered us “a free beverage” from the nearby fridge. We asked to arrange for a shuttle the next am back to the airport which they said they would do for us. Getting to our room, instead of the king size bed I had arranged for, we had 2 queen beds with a kitc

We were very happy with this hotel. Room view of the mountains were amazing. Room had everything we needed. The breakfast was one of the best weve been offered. Everything was fresh and had a great selection of hot and cold items. Staff were super friendly. Love this hotel. As a visitor to the area, we didn't like the area too much. Wasn't close to stores and it wasn't an area you would feel safe walking around in.

The property was close to my event venue and distance to the Mall was good. I will recommend.

The location and walking distance to the Mall

This is a beautiful place to stay. We had some confusion with shuttle service based solely on the na.e of the hotel. There is a Westin Calgary Airport hotel within blocks of the Element by Westin Calgary Airport hotel. We arrived late evening and caught the shuttle service.....to the incorrect hotel. Having two places so close together with almost the same name is not agreat thing for weary travelers. Also,there are no convenient places nearby to putchase personal otems one might need after traveling all day.

Elements was perfectly fine. It was located in an industrial/business area. Lots of families.

We had an excellent stay here. Customer service was so friendly and welcoming, room was quiet, clean and spacious. Breakfast was so delicious every morning, the variety and quality was great. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
