Villas HM Palapas del Mar

This is a good hotel. All inclusive a plus. The only disappointing thing was that the pool is not heated. The pool was freezing.

Main Pool was closed, shower was like using a faucet to take a bath.

The Rooms are very good, food is nice and location is amazing. Our stay would have a 10 out of 10 if the pools were heated.

El hotel está increíble, la alberca de súper buen tamaño, las habitaciones muy amplias, muy cuidadas, tienen un frente de playa muy amplio con muchos camastros, esa zona de la playa está súper bonita, lo suficientemente alejado del pueblo para no tener ruido pero muy cerquita que te vas caminando. Es sin duda nuestro hotel favorito.

several things determined my rating. The island was having water issues from the mainland so we were only allowed to shower, flush at certain times certainly not the fault of the hotel but wasn't fun. We had to wait 4 days for them to fix one of our shower heads and it ended up taking 2 minutes to fix it they are in no hurry to make something right. There are 2 pools, the main pool was not open for 75% of our stay and the other pool closed at 7 PM. The food is disgusting, I ordered a margarita pizza and it arrived with ceddar cheese, oregano powder and a crust I have no idea where it came from. Drinks and beach service were great. Great location, rooms are decent but the service overall except for beach service really could use improvement. Especially the service at the front desk.

No water in the pool and not advised before hand then found the receptionist rude! When we wanted to change hotel and to get a refund!

Excellent quiet beach location with many loungers/palapas! Short walk to the town. There is a Convenience store next to the resort/beach which is nice! Daily breakfast buffet had good variety. Highly recommend a room with a private pool! Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer und die ganze Anlage war sehr hochwertig und schön angelegt. Es gab auch genügend Sonnenliegen am Strand und an den beiden Pools. Das Frühstück hat auch unseren Geschmack getroffen. Alles in allem können wir das Hotel sehr empfehlen

The staff is amazing, attentive and friendly. The food was and is great as well! During my stay it was brought to our attention by front desk that there would be no water available in any pools (which i don’t mind do the ocean steps away) although there was no communication sent out in advance unfortunately. Yes I don’t mind but as a consumer I could have made other arrangements and possibly cancel this reservation and go elsewhere. I thought it was odd for a deposit needed for beach towels…

Overall nice rooms.AC worked great. I went to grab the extra blanket and very quickly decided to not use. It was extremely dirty with some actual spots that looked like blood on the blanket. Very little water pressure in shower. Probably will try another place when return.

When I first arrived I didn’t have cash for the taxi and the front desk gentleman kindly let me borrow cash until I was able to go to an ATM. So very kind. The place itself was SUPER clean and in a great part of the island. Quiet yet walkable to the town and on a big part of the beach.

Be very careful with Expedia. They do false advertising. Read your receipt, word by word before making your reservation or you will be surprised once at the property with surprise fees like ours, $347.00 additional fees that Expedia refuses to refund. They advertise that the property considers all kids “adults”, but suddenly at the property their age matters and they charge you extra. I’m still waiting on Expedia. I have a recording of the manager pretty much admitting it is their mistake, but I should have also checked with the facility directly. For the price; I’ve stayed at way better places. Room was infested with ants, all over, including the bed. When I reported it to the staff, I got a bottle of Raid. We were given another room for the night, which smelled terrible, AC did not work, and pillow shams smelled like someone had slept there and the sheets were not changed. We paid extra for a private pool that was never serviced. The water was so unsanitary appearing, I didn’t let my kids swim in it much. Sheets were never changed, even when requested. You get charged a $20 for each pool towel. The only decent thing was breakfast. But even during our stay they decided to have some repairs, which gave off a terrible smell all the way to the pool.

This is a beautiful and clean property! You could go barefoot and the sand was amazing! The lobby was peaceful. Lots of places to lounge and be with nature, read a book or have conversations. The ocean was fantastic, they offer cocktail and food service on the beach. The food was fresh and delicious, lots of variety daily.

This property is ideal if you want to be directly at the beach!! Unfortunately, upon arrival in the evening, we noticed our sheets were stained as well as the pillowcases. Since it was the evening, they didn’t have any staff to change the sheets so we had a very uncomfortable night. When they came the next day after yet again requesting only the sheets were replaced not the pillowcases with stains visibly on there and we had to call them back. This made for an uncomfortable mindset of what else isn’t clean? There also wasn’t very much accountability or apologies for the inconvenience. The property outside is well kept & the breakfast was decent. I think the options could have more flavor, but maybe they are geared more towards Europeans taste buds. The make your own omelette station was nice. Overall, we would maybe stay here again, would just need to do a thorough review of the room immediately on arrival.

La struttura è bella nelle zone comuni della piscina, reception e camere in generale.Anche le camere all’apparenza sono belle con letti king però nel dettaglio sono veramente sporche, le lenzuola sembrano già state usate e i vetri sono stati fin da subito sporchi e sono rimasti sporchi.i serramenti non chiudono bene, e i cuscini erano sporchi di pittura.il problema è che a fronte del prezzo la pulizia dovrebbe essere impeccabile e non così trascurata, anche i lettini della piscina e della spiaggia sono sempre sporchi.peccato perché la struttura merita, la posizione è ottima, 10 minuti a piedi dal rumoroso centro e di fronte ad un mare bellissimo.

We had the seaview room with pool. All the bottoms ones had a pool. The view wasn't seaview, but it was the front of the property closest to ocean. This room was the most private which was nice for us since we didn't have kids. It was good for the days that we worked remotely as we had the nice relaxing view.

The location was great but the rooms clearly hadn't been updated in a while and could use it. The staff weren't amazing, our room wasn't cleaned the first two days we were there and the restaurant staff were quite slow and a bit rude.

I had an excellent stay. Location is great. Beach is beautiful. Room was large and bed was very comfortable. Only improvement point is that the ceramic tiles in the shower were not so clean. Room a bit pricey for its simplicity but it is Holbox.

We had an amazing stay at Villas HM Palapas del Mar. We traveld with 2 families and got upgraded so we could stay in 1 villa, this included a pool on the ground floor. The villa and rooms are very nice and spacious. Cleaning was done evey day. The food and drinks are great and the service (also on the beach, which is a 1 minute walk) is amazing. On arrival we opted for all inclusive, a good choice if you spend most your daytime near the hotel and like a drink every now and then. Only point of improvement in our room was the showerhead/hand shower. We stayed for 5 nights during our 15 day trip in yucatan. This we experienced as a good amount of time before leaving home.

DON’T get the suite with the sea view!! We got it and there’s no privacy along with no sea view!! We’re working on getting a price adjustment because of the false advertising. We were able to change to a more private suite with a garden view. Which was nice and very clean! Marcos the bellman was very helpful when we arrived, really appreciate it. The rooftop pool needs to be cleaned more often. There was a lot of small bugs and debris. Really enjoyed the location, walkable to downtown Holbox!

The staff was so attentive. Miss Isis was amazing with arranging transportation for me to get there safely as I was traveling solo. The front desk, the staff at the restaurant, housekeeping, the delivery person, the servers and service at the beach, the massage provider. Everyone was so wonderful. The only thing was the business next to the property has a loud generator that runs most of the day. That is the only thing that bothered me. Will be back!

Overall, the property was decent. The access to the beach was easy and just a few short steps away. Along with the breakfast buffet, which had a touch of Mexican-style cooking, it made breakfast an event to look forward to. We did not end up purchasing the all-inclusive package as we found enjoyable and variety of restaurants in the nearby small town. However, there were a few concerns that deemed this hotel a 3-stars and not a 5-star establishment. First, visiting in June (low season) meant high humidity with average temperatures of 90 degrees plus. We arrived in our room with the AC turned off, causing considerable sweat as we unloaded our luggage. Second, more than half of the AC was blocked off by two pointless doors, preventing the room from cooling properly. We reported it to the front desk, but they only sent a technician with no follow-up. After a few hours, we returned to the front desk, this time with pictures showing the pointless doors and our dissatisfaction. Initially, we were met with pushback and excuses that the doors were part of the design and could not be removed. Only after further persistence and threatening to write negative reviews did they agree to try removing the doors, which they eventually did in a timely manner. After the doors were removed, the room cooled down tremendously. Overall, the hotel received 3 stars and lost a returning customer not because of the amenities' shortcomings but because of the staff's initial pushback.

Such a beautiful spot for a reasonable price right on the beach! My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and we have no regrets! We partially loved the beach side drink and snack service included in the all inclusive package we got! Thought we’d get tired of mojitos but they were just so good! The food was excellent as well! Each day has a theme for the week we were there and all of them were very good! Our favorite was the BBQ and Mexican themes! The only thing we were disappointed with was the shower, the water pressure was sometimes non-existent and it took about 5 minutes to heat up which was kinda annoying… Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely come back again!

Everything was so nice! Staff was friendly, food was good, bar service and beach service were excellent. Housekeeping did a fantastic job! I can't wait to go back again!! short walk into town, I can't say enough, we will defiantly be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great hotel - Friendly staff, good facilities, good and varied food options

The lobby staff was horrible. They nickel and dime you. No one knew the towel deposit. We got different amounts from two different employees. They also wanted to verify how I got my hotel stay price.

Some of the staff particularly at reception and especially in the restaurant were not helpful or friendly. I went to reception for help with something, I said good morning to the guy and his response was, yes? Very unfriendly! It felt like you were inconveniencing him whenever you needed something. Towards the end of our stay we avoided asking him and waited for another member of staff such was his poor attitude. The staff in the restaurant looked bored and barely spoke to you. The buffet breakfast was ok but most of the time I would have to leave the table to go and ask for coffee from the staff as they wouldn’t always ask you. They also would avoid making eye contact, it was almost like if they did they would have to do some work. Never any tea spoon with the cups on the table so everyday you’d have to ask for one or use a fork to stir your coffee. Most mornings you’d have to take a cup from another table as they hadn’t been relaid. It’s supposed to be a four star hotel but the service didn’t feel like it. The staff at the hotel were very disappointing overall. The hotel itself is nice, but the staff need more training in customer service. There was no room service either which I thought was strange for a four star hotel too. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the staff at a hotel should enhance your stay and in our case it was the opposite.

Villas HM Palapas del Mar was such a wonderful stay it was such a quaint yet full experience. I had never been to a smaller resort and to be honest I didn't expect for us to enjoy ourselves as much. The food was phenomenal in particular the snack menu was so delicious. The part that was a gamechanger was the staff. Everyone is so helpful and willing to help wherever they can. Special shout out to Vicente & Fercho for taking care of us on the beach and at the bar all vacation long.

Good location at this good property but the service and the staff is totally lost. Our welcome was a total disaster. The word welcome was not even spoken. But could we please settle the whole bill at once. No introduction to the place was offered. Very few of the people working in the restaurant spoke enough English with a number of misunderstandings as a result. The rooms are nice and the rooms with a good balcony. The grounds were cleaned and swept everyday and the beach is very close. The best service we got were from the guys serving drinks on the beach with a smile every afternoon.

Everything was fine, location was great, the rooms are super clean and very nicely decorated except the reception area. They super slow, had us wait a really long time to just greet us and start our check in. We had to ask if one of the 3 staff members who were not checking in anyone could help us check in. They really need to be trained on service to the client and speediness. Service from all other staff at the hotel was really good.

Great location, the facilities are great, the staff is amazing helpful and friendly and the food is great. The beach and pools are fantastic and you can have a great time in the hotel. We experienced an hurricane during our stay but the staff was always very nice and make it easier for us to feel safe and comfortable. Fully recommend the hotel.

L'endroit est tout simplement des plus reposant et calme. Un peu plus éloigné du centre-ville de Holbox donc procurant une quiétude assurée de même que de très bons lits de plage en quantité suffisante bien que l'hôtel ne semblait pas à pleine capacité. Nous avons également pris deux dîners ainsi qu'un buffet du soir et la nourriture était bonne. Beaucoup de personnel sur place et un entretien constant impeccable. Je recommande cet hôtel assurément et je n'hésiterais pas à y retourner.

Amazing place to visit with the family, they are not completely on the beach, you need to walk a few meters and cross the street to be on the beach, they have a beach club, they bring you the service, food and drinks; the restaurant has a lot of variety, just if you arrive late, the food it's cold and they don't have everything, it's in the best beach for childrens and infants.

We stayed at this hotel for five days, and in my opinion, it is excellent—the location, the service, the staff, the attention, the kindness, etc. Thanks to all the hotel staff; our stay at this place was amazing. We would return without a second thought, and I highly recommend it.

The hotel was such a wonderful spot to stay in Holbox. The location was unbeatable, with a 5-10 min walk to any bar and restaurant. It was clean and amenities were very nice. We would definitely book this hotel again!

The All Inclusive NOT WORTH IT Food wasn’t worth it, bad cooking Staff at front desk lie to me twice about the bicycles when trying to use them

First trip to Holbox. The hotel was nice, our room was ready upon arrival. We were given RM 51 which was an upgrade which included a private plunge pool. Also, for being an Expedia member we received a bottle of Champagne. The property is pretty, the decorations are also nice. The plunge pool was nice to have and they cleaned it daily for us. The room had a great AC and the bathroom had plenty of hot water and water pressure was great. That’s not always a given on an island. We did the all inclusive, not the upgraded one. The mixed drinks were always really good and we had several, we didn’t even notice the well liqueur they were so good. The waiters and bartenders were great. We even had great service at the beach. You can order off the snack menu at the beach. The steak and chicken they use for the fajitas and nachos is so tender and flavorful. The Ceviche was fresh and really good as well. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and we chose to eat out for dinner. The neighboring restaurant Parador 33 was delicious. Best meal of the trip. It’s an Argentine Steak and seafood place. The Octopus Carpaccio was to die for and so was the steak. The staff were super friendly. The taco stands in town are also fabulous. It was a great trip. I only took off 1 star because the shower and sink had some draining issues, but it wasn’t that big of a deal for us. We also had massages by Alma in the sister hotel. It was fabulous, and the price was fantastic.

Todo excelente lo único es que su “todo incluido” no es todo incluido, está muy limitado a pocas cosas ya que hay en el hotel un paquete que le llaman premium y ese si incluye todo como debería ser, de ahí en más lo pasamos increíble. El personal es de la mejor calidad y amabilidad.

Very quiet and relaxing resort. Food was great with different international cuisines each night. Loved the personal pool with our room. Best place to stay if you are looking for slow pace and relaxing vibe.

This property has a SCAM. I booked All-inclusive and you can only use the bar (drinks not that great) and a snack menu. They have a lower pool and upper pool. We had lunch off snack menu but we went to dinner near upper pool which is Sushi (not good at all) and at end of dinner we got a bill for $120 USD. The sushi restaurant supposedly is separate from property but is on the property. The entire buffet are is closed and only had apples and bananas to eat. This property is a Scam and is NOT All-inclusive. Rooms were nice and comfortable but you can hear noise from bar. I would never stay here again and I will report this to my Visa card for a full refund since I paid all inclusive and they really only have a snack menu to order from (hamburgers, nachos, etc.

We enjoyed our stay. There’s room for improvement with the food, however. The bbq night in particular was not good. The meat and chicken were not cooked properly because they were placed in the open flame which caused the outside of the food to burn but the inside was still raw.
