It was a very nice hotel, clean rooms and beds were comfy but the pool was cold and the tile in the pool area was awful. My 4 kids and I walked in and my 8 year old slipped just walking (luckily didn’t fall) and my 5 year old went to get out of the pool and slipped, fell back and hit the back of her head. She was fine thank goodness. The pool was a disappointment since I have 4 small children (10,8, 5 and 4) that look forward to that part of staying in the hotel.

The hotel was clean and had a lovely fitness center - better than many hotels we stay in. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. It is in a nice area of town with plenty of nearby dining choices and walking/biking trails. We enjoyed our stay!

Only issue is our room is on 3rd floor, and come back from supper and elevator does not work. Being 65 with bad knees and legs, hard to walk up all the stairs. So since elevator does not work cannot go down to pool are with kids and grandkids

Everything was ok until the second nor I g of out stay when I exited the shower on day two. I used the last clean towel and dried off. When I was done, I realized there was fresh blood on both sides of the towel and a solid stain. After nearly vomiting I showered again and was furious.

From the outside, the hotel looks great and the lobby is clean but our room was terrible. It smelled so bad and we found mold in the ducts and AC unit. When I brought it to the front desk, they said there was no way but did not want to address the issue. Very unhappy with the interaction. The rest of the hotel was fine. We used the workout room and pool and ate breakfast there and all were good, just our room ruined the stay for us.

The floor needed to be vacuumed around the bed/what looked like blood on on the bathroom counter/ Sheets had a brown gunk on it and hair in the shower. I was placed on the first floor window and only had sheers to the window. Several work trucks around the back entrance doors.

Everything seemed fine overall, and breakfast was good, however the alarm clock was pre-set for 5am and the off button did not work, the sheets had some small brown stains on them, and I found someone else’s dirty sock in the bathroom. The deadbolt latch also was very loose so I was happy to have been traveling with my dog.

The hight of the bed is an absolute no go for me. I will not stay there again as I cannot sit on the edge of the bed due to the hight. I also could not get in or out of the bed without an unstable step stool and I am an adult. There is absolutely no reason for a bed to be that high off the floor.

The bed was not quite as firm as I like. A few aspects of the room seemed unfinished--a closet with no rods or shelves, a nice shower with no place to put the bar of soap. Otherwise everything was clean and pleasant, and the breakfast was good.

Unfortunately we arrived late due to weather. So we couldn’t explore the surrounding area. Room was comfortable. Bed was very comfortable! Clean room and good breakfast. One thing I must complain about, the mini fridge didn’t work. We needed it for some perishable items and it did not chill.

The beds are very high. I am 5'8" and when I sat on the edge of the bed, my feet were 6-8" off the floor. To further complicate things, the edges of the mattress are very soft so you feel like you are going to slip off the mattress and fall 8" to the floor. The staff was pleasant. The breakfast was good and it was convenient to the freeway.

The first night I was there, somehow they double booked my room and I had somebody walk into my room around midnight. They had been given a key and it overrode the safety lock and they were able to walk right in. Then I got a phone call from the front desk basically asking me when I checked in, who checked me in etc. I knew what time I checked in but how in the world would I remember who checked me in? It was very unsettling and I ended up putting the chair under the door the rest of the nights that I was there. Likely, I will stay somewhere else my next trip to Ankeny.

We arrived around 1am. The front desk staff was super friendly and helped us get our room quickly. The room was spacious. The smoke detector was chirping and the front desk lady came right away. My 6 year old commented “She was nice”. 😊

The hotel is so difficult to find that it's CIA-worthy. Not LaQuinta's fault (road construction), but annoying, nonetheless. Same with group of young people (AAU?) hanging out in the lobby at very high volume – when I arrived, then before dinner, then after dinner. Same folks, same noise. Located in a cluster of other hotels, this doesn't strike me as a great location.

We just stayed 12 hours so it fit the bill. Nothing great but nothing wrong. Easy to find and good location near highway.

No whole milk, only meat option was powdered eggs each day. They did have things like waffles, biscuits and gravy, bagles and similar (things i don't like to eat) but no bacon or sausage. Coffee was cool.

I came to work at the State Fair from the USS Battleship in San Pedro, California. The place was about 20 minutes from the airport and less than 15 minutes from the Fair. Place is clean. Lots of parking. Great, hot breakfast choices. I highly recommend this place. I'll be back next year. Thank you!

The breakfast was good, and they even had strawberry and whipped toppings for the waffles, although our favorites breakfast items of bacon and omelets were only served one of the five mornings. The pool was clean and a good temperature. The hot chocolate station in the lobby was nice. The hotel was quiet and appeared lightly occupied.

Nice place.. Staff was friendly and place was kept pretty clean.. Would be perfect but for 2 things.. Beds and pillows and not the most comfortable and the breakfast was not very good.. Most comparable hotels have bacon, chocolate milk, regular scrambled eggs, ect.. You know? Here, Scrambled egg patties with peppers in them, sausage only, white milk only... Just constructive criticism, thats all.. These items are cheap in bulk from Sam's once again..

This property satisfied our needs during a one night stay. The room was clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable. The only thing that would have made the stay better was breakfast. By 8am, most of the breakfast options were depleted.

Room clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Only stayed overnight so didn’t take advantage of pool or breakfast as we were tailgating with friends for NASCAR race.

Very friendly and great staff. The room was cleaned but definitely was lacking in a good smell. Grout in bathroom appeared stained yellow. I would go back, but definitely make sure I saw my room first.

I had my 3 kids with me and they loved it too. It was very neat and well maintained. The shower room was super warm and made swimming enjoyable. In fact it was the only hotel out of 5 other ones that I actually swam in. And the breakfast was the average sausages, biscuits gravy, pre made omelet, yogurt, oatmeal and other drinks.
