Parking is a bit of an issue as the hotel does not have their own carpark .I parked around the back in a public car park ( very close) but would have preferred to left my bike in a private carpark owned by the hotel

Cheap, off season, good cheap meals 4 nights specials, lift there but old and very slow. No off street parking, no en suite in room, not a big problem in off season, with few guests but it could be in high season. Getting bags to room was a struggle, no trolley or allocated help.

This hotel is very close to the town centre. The rooms are clean and comfortable . The bistro is very convenient and the meals we have chosen have been delicious but probably a bit large. The cost is manageable.is out go to happy lace.

Big room with updated on suite. Looking out over disused roof space for below hotel/pub facilities but better this way as no noise to speak of if you were positioned overlooking the main road out front. Very clean. Good comfortable queen bed. Only a short walk to the main beach and great breakfast at the local surf lifesaving club at the main beach. No hotel parking but plenty of angled parking across the road. Police station next door so I would not expect drunken behaviour during the night.

Nothing was particularly unique about the property except that it was just across the road from the picturesque Wallis Lake. The parking area was across the road next to a park and the Lake. At times, it was hard to get a parking spot there. The shared female bathroom down the hall, I noticed that the shower recess was not cleaned every day, due to the bath mat not being moved for about 2 days. The rest of the bathroom was fairly clean for an old bathroom. My room was old and in need of a proper renovation. It did not have a luggage holder for my suitcase. I asked for one at the Accommodation Reception area and they didn't have one. In the Reception there were at least 3 men who seemed disorganised but they were pleasant. They didn'tseem to know how to work the booking system on the computer. The Lakes & Ocean Hotel mainly concentrate on food, alcohol and entertainment. The food was too expensive for me to buy and the entertainment was too noisy. My room had a broken flyscreen and this window area was quite dirty. I would never ever return to stay there again.

After a 13 hour drive and arriving late after 8pm and having a late dinner, it wasn't till after 10pm that we discovered there was no hot water and no one around to raise the alarm,didn't notify reception till following morning. Response was "we will let maintenance department know" after pressing the issue, was offered a $50 refund that never eventuated.

The room presents well with a nice bathroom, however the aircon was set to a low thermostat and came on intermittently, when the room temperature was about 15 degrees cold. No doona or blanket so it was freezing and unpleasant.

We stayed one night in a water view room. Small but everything you need and renovated. The room opened out onto a large shared deck. We enjoyed the subset view. The pub itself is very well set out and renovated also. Lots of different spaces to give different vibes. We didn't eat here as there are many great options within a short stroll. The beach is 10 minute easy walk away. Highly recommend as a much cheaper accommodation option.

‘Family Room’ - Recently stayed during school holidays - last minute to see family member, so little other options available in Forster - Booked for two nights (Friday/Saturday) understanding it was ‘pub’ accomodation and there may be some noise from downstairs… Good: *Location close to everything *Check in during business hours quick *Own ensuite Poor: *Family room is immediately above beer garden, so noise up to 12am and not accoustic windows, so very very loud! *Fixtures, furniture & fittings poor and dated *All beds extremely spongy *No aircon in parent room so hot & stuffy in summer (aircon in kids room doesnt reach main bedroom) *Overpriced for what it is. If you have young kids sensitive to noise (like ours) this is not the place for them, or be prepared for late bedtimes. And for what it is, overpriced at $350 per night (understand its holiday season but crazy price).

The manager, John & his staff were so professional & friendly. We extended our stay by one night we felt so welcomed & safe. The food & atmosphere amazing. No trouble parking & the lift made it easy for 2 ladies to take their luggage to their room. We will be back.

A very comfortable and clean room. Surprisingly quiet despite pub music playing and situated on a main road. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely be my choice for accomodation in Forster again.

It was modern but very limited facilities. Asked staff for a toaster & they couldn't provide one. Air conditioner was not on so room was stuffy & when asked to fix it staff must have pressed a button so we could use the remote for it. Woke at 5am to find the room was boiling hot & we couldn't turn heating of. Tried to call someone too no avail. No staff on call. Awful stay.

Were given a big QS room, room 1 on the back verandah. Check in quick, efficient, friendly. Room clean, good condition, great bathroom with nice brand shampoo, conditioner & wash. Good quality nice smelling towels and a very comfortable bed. Coffee, tea, milk, sugar & cookies provided. A little noise from downstairs till about 21.00 hrs but after that so quiet. Staying on a Sunday might be different from Friday night though.... Great price for a great room close to everything. Will stay again

I accidentally booked the wrong date - almost 2 weeks later than our stay in Forster. On site staff, on the same day I booked, said they couldn't help. Wotif staff enquired on my behalf and refund was refused. Email to tge venue, requesting confirmation that there would be no refund was not answered. Will make sure to check in future and will not book this venue

We stayed one night in a water view room. Small but everything you need and renovated. The room opened out onto a large shared deck. We enjoyed the subset view. The pub itself is very well set out and renovated also. Lots of different spaces to give different vibes. We didn't eat here as there are many great options within a short stroll. The beach is 10 minute easy walk away. Highly recommend as a much cheaper accommodation option.

Big room with updated on suite. Looking out over disused roof space for below hotel/pub facilities but better this way as no noise to speak of if you were positioned overlooking the main road out front. Very clean. Good comfortable queen bed. Only a short walk to the main beach and great breakfast at the local surf lifesaving club at the main beach. No hotel parking but plenty of angled parking across the road. Police station next door so I would not expect drunken behaviour during the night.

The location was absolutely beautiful, with the hotel situated right in front of Wallis lake and within walking distance to nearby restaurants and boat hire. It was a perfect spot for a relaxing getaway! The staff were friendly and very helpful. I was initially concerned about the noise from the pub located downstairs but I was surprised that I couldn’t hear anything from my room. The room was clean and comfortable- which made for a very pleasant stay. However, would suggest to provide hairdryer in the hotel room. Definitely will come back again!

I had a simple breakfast of bacon and eggs. Everything was cooked to perfection by someone who cared about what they do. I have been on the road for 30 years and this was my most memorable breakfast. Simple but made with an intention to please. Thanks I come to Taree twice per year and this is now my go to accommodation.

Room was perfect ,with own bathroom , which was very clean. We had a meal from the bistro ,very nice . Tea and coffee facilities in the room that were replenished everyday Except they forgot to restock the milk. Just not sure as to why the pub charged 3 different prices for the same 2 drinks 3 rounds $21.00 $23.00 & $19.99 all on the same day . . So be aware of this . All in all would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Easy walking distance to beach and shops .

This hotel is very close to the town centre. The rooms are clean and comfortable . The bistro is very convenient and the meals we have chosen have been delicious but probably a bit large. The cost is manageable.is out go to happy lace.

This stay was for my dad and step mother, both are elderly they enjoyed the stay at the hotel it was convenient to everywhere and close to town. The rooms where very clean and comfortable. The friday and saturday they stayed they found the music was very loud and went to early hours of the morning. Otherwise the stay was great

A nice comfortable 4-night stay. Room was clean and location was excellent. Only problem being that some other guests were not quite noise compliant on the Friday night, although somewhat to be expected. Staff were fantastic.
